Chapter 81 The Fall of the Tiger’s Cane

Pan Haifeng returned to the private room and laughed. “Brother Zhi, I think these two girls are not bad. We’ll bring them along when we leave and find a good spot to have some happy time!”

Li Guangzhi suppressed the rage that was inside him and faked a laugh. “Alright, alright. I will make sure that we have a good time later. Come Haifeng, we have known each other for more than two years already. We must drink to our hearts’ content tonight.”

Pan Haifeng laughed heartily. “Yes, we knew each other long before anyone else. If we didn’t fight, we wouldn’t have known each other. Who knew that we would end up becoming good brothers? After that, both of us became formidable in our freshman year but our Big Boss was greater so we submitted to him. You were the Second Boss in the Four Red Canes and I was the Third Boss. I have always been sincere in serving you.”

Li Guangzhi wasn’t convinced and tried hard to control his anger. Regardless of what Pan Haifeng said, Pan Haifeng just looked pretentious in his eyes.

“But Brother Zhi…” Pan Haifeng drank two more glasses of beer and could not help but advise Guangzhi. “I must give you some advice. Never ever take drugs. Don’t even touch them. Once a person touches it, his life has basically gone down the drain. If Brother Hu knew about this…”

Li Guangzhi was furious inside but he was still bottling up his anger. He replied laughingly, “Haifeng, only the two of us know about this matter. If you don’t talk and I don’t talk, then Brother Hu wouldn’t know about it.”

“The truth will come to light and you can’t keep it under wraps forever,” Pan Haifeng continued. “If you really don’t want Brother Hu to know, you should quit using it soon. If not, it’ll be apparent sooner or later.”

“Yes, yes.” Li Guangzhi answered half-heartedly but he was already planning his next move in his mind.

Li Guangzhi glanced at the exit and suddenly said, “Haifeng, your two brothers seem exhausted standing at the exit. Ask them to come in and have a drink together.”

“Are you talking about the two brats?” Pan Haifeng shook his head and laughed. “Those two have probably gone and looked for a private room to have fun in. When I came back from the washroom just now, they had already left.”

“No way, I’ll go and have a look.” Li Guangzhi stood up and headed toward the exit. Pan Haifeng was telling him from behind that it was unnecessary and there was no need to bother about them. Nevertheless, Li Guangzhi still pushed open the door to take a look. As expected, there was nobody else at the walkway except for the waiters.

Li Guangzhi became more worried. He suddenly remembered the conversation between the two men at the exit. Of course, he wasn’t familiar with the two of them and there was too much noise coming from the singing lounge. Thus, he did not know that the two men, who were conversing, were not Pan Haifeng’s underlings at all. He had fallen into a trap since the beginning.

Li Guangzhi sat back down and took out his phone to send a message to Yang Ke. At the same time, his other hand had already reached into his pocket, holding onto a dagger that was hidden in his trouser pocket.

Pan Haifeng did not know that Li Guangzhi was going to fight him at all and he was still flirting with the pretty girl. About ten seconds later, the door was knocked down from outside and Pan Haifeng stood up abruptly. He pointed at the seven or eight men who had appeared out of nowhere and shouted, “Damn it! Where are your manners? Don’t you know how to knock? Brother Zhi, how do you educate your men?”

Li Guangzhi said smilingly, “Yeah, some people lack education but it’s not my men who lack it, it’s you!”

After he finished talking, Li Guangzhi drew out his dagger and pounced on Haifeng. When the two pretty girls witnessed this entire incident, they shrieked as they ran to a corner.

Pan Haifeng did not expect Li Guangzhi to attack right after he said that he would but Pan Haifeng was quick to react. He nimbly drew out a cane from his back which he always brought along. He was nicknamed ‘Tiger’s Cane’ because he had specifically learnt cane martial arts before. He was also considered as an expert in the school, if not, he wouldn’t have become one of Yulan’s Four Tigers.

Although his movements were nimble, Li Guangzhi was even faster. Li Guangzhi’s strength had always been more superior than that of the Tiger’s Cane’s. Moreover, Li Guangzhi was prepared to attack him while Pan Haifeng had been clueless about his plan. Li Guangzhi had been taking small sips of beer when they were drinking while Pan Haifeng had filled his stomach with beer, unaware.

With a stab, Li Guangzhi gashed a wound on Pan Haifeng’s chest and Pan Haifeng let out a dreadful scream. He quickly backed away as he hurled the cane in his hands toward Li Guangzhi but Li Guangzhi managed to dodge it before rushing toward him once again.

Yang Ke shouted, “What are you staring at? Help Brother Zhi beat him up!”

Those men swarmed toward him and Pan Haifeng panicked as he yelled, “Li Guangzhi, have you gone crazy?”

“You’re the one who’s crazy. How dare you set me up? If I can’t be the Big Boss, no one can!”

“God damn it! What the heck are you talking about?” Pan Haifeng finally realized Li Guangzhi had been planning to set him up the whole night. However, Li Guangzhi’s underlings had surrounded him and Pan Haifeng did not even have the chance to argue with him. Soon, he was drowned in a sea of fists.

Pan Haifeng’s strength was quite decent after all as he managed to use his cane to knock two of Li Guangzhi’s men unconscious. Nevertheless, he was injured and outnumbered. He was soon beaten up until he did not even have the energy to fight back anymore. He could only scream in agony.

Li Guangzhi watched from the side and said, “Enough, enough. Let me ask him a few questions.”

As soon as Li Guangzhi finished talking, Pan Haifeng let out one last scream and did not move a muscle at all afterward.

Everyone dispersed and saw Pan Haifeng lying on the ground, who had already passed out. He looked horrible. There were bruises on his nose and his face was swollen. The wound that had been slashed across his chest had opened up and there was blood everywhere on the ground.

Yang Ke looked at Li Guangzhi and said, “Brother Zhi, since we’ve already reached this stage, shouldn’t we just finish the job and get rid of him?”

“Kill him? No way!” Li Guangzhi clenched his teeth. “Damn it! Since he’s heartless, I’ll be ruthless. Take him away!”

Li Guangzhi’s men lifted Pan Haifeng up and marched out of the karaoke lounge. Incidents like this always happened at karaoke lounges so nobody went up to stop them. After they exited the lounge, they climbed into the van that had been prepared earlier and Li Guangzhi said with a deep voice, “Bring him to the city hospital.”

“Alright!” Yang Ke replied and started driving away.

On the way to the city hospital, Li Guangzhi maliciously looked at Pan Haifeng who was unconscious and said, “Pan Haifeng, you provoked me first, so you can’t blame me for doing this.”

With that, he took out his dagger once again and stabbed Pan Haifeng in the stomach. Li Guangzhi’s face was dark and he was terrifyingly calm. The depth and accuracy of the stab had been precisely calculated by him so that Pan Haifeng would be admitted to the hospital for at least a month or two.

Pan Haifeng opened his eyes and he had a look of terror on his face. Li Guangzhi stared at him coldly and clenched his jaw as he said, “Pan Haifeng, I will take your life if you dare to talk any nonsense in front of Brother Hu. You will think of an excuse by yourself!”

Pan Haifeng replied with a weak voice, “Alright, alright.”

He did not care about the reason behind Li Guangzhi’s actions anymore. He could see that Li Guangzhi had already lost his mind, probably because he wanted to delegate more men and wanted to grab the position of Big Boss in the future. For those reasons, he did not even hesitate to hurt his good brother whom he had known for more than two years. Haifeng could only think of saving his own life now, although Li Guangzhi would certainly not kill him.

Li Guangzhi opened the car door and tossed him at the hospital entrance. After that, he quickly asked Yang Ke to drive away from the scene. Many people quickly surrounded the hospital entrance and a stretcher was immediately brought out.

On the way back, Li Guangzhi kept mumbling under his breath, “Damn it! Pan Haifeng asked for it! Right, he was the one who asked for it. I didn’t break the brotherhood code.”

Li Guangzhi looked like he was possessed. As soon as he remembered the fear, disappointment and rage in Pan Haifeng’s eyes, he became even more frustrated. He then shouted, “Don’t go back to school! Let’s go and find some girls!”

Yang Ke, who was driving, cracked a faint smug smile.

Lin Huai and his men lifted the two men that belonged to Pan Haifeng whom they had knocked unconscious and carried them out from the karaoke lounge. Wu Mengjie chuckled and said excitedly, “Haha! Brother Huai, you are godlike! In the blink of an eye, you have eliminated one of the tigers of Yulan’s Four Tigers. If we include Chen Gang from before this, that means we have already eliminated two tigers.”

Lin Huai smiled confidently. “The reason I chose to strike at a time like this is because this is the moment Zhou Minghu is at his weakest.”

Zhuang Bifan did not seem to understand and asked, “Brother Huai, Zhou Minghu has almost united the whole college. How is it that he is at his weakest now?”

Lin Huai said assuredly, “Because of human nature. After he has united Yulan College, he will be delegating his manpower and at times like this, the strength of every major will vary. Some majors will be delegated with more men while some will have less. There will be an imbalance of strength. Pu Chengji came to a sudden realization and said, “I’ve thought about this before but I only understood it fully after listening to your plan, Brother Huai. Your understanding of people’s psychology is just too good.”

Wu Jun calmly added, “We should just finish off what we started. Since Brother Huai has people at Li Guangzhi’s side, we should find an opportunity tonight and eliminate Li Guangzhi.”

“Eliminate Li Guangzhi?” Lin Huai shook his head and smiled. “There is no hurry to get rid of Li Guangzhi. We don’t have to trouble ourselves to make a move. Tomorrow, Zhou Minghu will help us eliminate him. Instead of us making a move, why don’t we let them fight and destroy themselves?”

Wu Mengjie asked curiously, “Brother Huai, how did you know that Li Kandao would go and find some girls today?”

Moreover, they have been fighting in school for the past two days. His enthusiasm and excitement is through the roof right now. Hence, I daresay that if a girl seduced him now, she would definitely succeed. Gao Mengchao has control over the girls in the school. That’s why I let her pick a more trustworthy girl to seduce Li Kandao and bring him to the little jungle at school. Little does he know that Dao Zi is waiting for him in the little jungle.”

Lin Huai’s eyes were glistening and he muttered to himself, “Speaking of Dao Zi, bring these two to the day-rent house which we have rented earlier on. Remember to tie them up and don’t let them escape. Also, make sure they do not tip anyone off.”

Wu Mengji asked, “What about you, Brother Huai?”

“As for me…” Lin Huai smiled. “I will go and join the party. I want to see for myself, between these two Daos[1], who will triumph over the other!”
