The Great Trump Card - Chapter 84
Chapter 84 Lin Huai’s Big Army Has Arrived!
Zhou Minghu gave Li Guangzhi another kick that sent him flying and Li Guangzhi did not dare to dodge it so he was kicked to the ground once again.
Zhou Minghu then walked toward Li Guangzhi. With every step he took, his gaze turned more daunting. Everyone was terrified as they could feel the pressure.
A frightening aura enveloped Li Guangzhi, and now everyone understood why even a person like Li Kandao could only be Zhou Minghu’s Red Cane; Zhou Minghu was a really horrifying person and he was like the Demon King that had just walked straight out of Hell. An imposing aura was permeating from his body and it made everyone’s hearts tremble.
“Talk! Is that true?”
“Yes, I did stab him!” Li Guangzhi shouted out. “But I had no intentions of betraying you, Mr. Hu!”
“Damn you!” Zhou Minghu scanned his surroundings for a moment then picked up a brick that was lying on the ground and smashed it directly onto Li Guangzhi’s head.
With a loud smash, Li Guangzhi could feel his head spinning as blood started trickling down his forehead.
“How dare you betray me?!” Zhou Minghu continued smashing the brick at him. Li Guangzhi could feel his consciousness fading as his vision started becoming more and more blurry.
Zhang Hongdi held Zhou Minghu back and shouted, “Brother Hu, Brother Hu! You’re going to kill him if you continue!”
Zhou Minghu was breathing heavily and his gaze looked like the gaze of a man-eating beast. Li Guangzhi’s men wanted to rush forward initially but in the end they held themselves back; they had the courage to fight with people but did not dare to put their lives on the line and battle with a beast.
Li Guangzhi lay weakly on the ground and his head was covered in blood, but he was still conscious.
Zhou Minghu walked over and put his foot on Li Guangzhi’s body. He clenched his teeth and interrogated him, “Who asked you to betray me? Why isn’t Li Kandao here? Did you set him up as well?”
“I-I… Mr Hu, I-I didn’t… ”
Li Guangzhi stuttered and before he could finish his sentence, Lin Huai’s loud voice came from a distance. “Nobody asked them to betray you. They wanted to switch sides out of their own will.”
Zhou Minghu suddenly turned his head and everyone could see Lin Huai, Pu Chengji, Wu Mengjie, Wang Hongwei, Zhuang Bifan and Fan Hanning walking toward his direction.
The look in Zhou Minghu’s eyes darkened as he said coldly, “Why are you all out here? Shouldn’t you be locked up in prison?”
Lin Huai sneered, “Sorry to disappoint you, Mr. Hu. It has been my plan from the start to set you up. Your men, Li Kandao and Li Guangzhi had been despising you since the beginning because how is a cruel person like you worthy to be their Big Boss? Quite a number of men have died under your lead. Didn’t the person whom Chen Gang substituted to become one of Yulan’s Four Tigers die in your hands as well?”
As soon as Lin Huai was done talking, the people in the field started chattering. Most of the people could only speculate about the incident that happened that year because they did not have any evidence. However, they were certain deep down that it was Zhou Minghu who instructed Chen Gang to do so.
Lin Huai continued, “I got a hold of Xuan Yuzhai’s weakness but I still want to thank him for being a big help this time. I’ve purposely made you think that I was arrested but actually he had asked his men to release me. I’ve waited until today to make you let your guard down!”
Xuan Yuzhai was not at the scene so Lin Huai could say anything he wanted. Plus, Zhou Minghu had his suspicions and Lin Huai was definitely standing right in front of him. Thus, Zhou Minghu took his word for it and his face was filled with rage as he clenched his jaw. “Xuan Yuzhai… But do you think this is enough? You think you can win just because you managed to get rid of two Tigers, Chen Gang and Pan Haifeng?
Lin Huai smiled and explained, “Zhou Minghu, you are not worthy to be called ‘the Leader of the Tigers’. You are already at such a disadvantageous situation, yet you think that you still have any odds of winning? Since Li Kandao and Li Guangzhi have betrayed you, why don’t you take a moment to think about how many of your men are actually on my side now? Furthermore, how many of the computer science majors who previously yielded were my men? Also, could Li Kandao and Li Guangzhi be the only ones around you that have betrayed you?”
Zhou Minghu turned his head swiftly to look at Zhang Hongdi. Even the crafty Zhang Hongdi was dumbfounded and kept backstepping as he explained himself, “Mr. Hu, I did not betray you, I did not betray you.”
Zhou Minghu snickered, “Of course I believe you, you are my good brother. However, I will trust you more if you ask your men to take down Li Kandao and Li Guangzhi’s men!”
“Fine!” Zhang Hongdi clenched his jaw and turned around as he bellowed, “All my brothers who are loyal to Mr. Hu, take Li Kandao and Li Guangzhi’s men down! No, beat the living daylights out of them!”
To prove his loyalty, Zhang Hongdi had to be merciless. The sports major students started fighting against each other. Li Kandao and Li Guangzhi’s men were not planning on betraying Zhou Minghu but they were hot-tempered men and would not just stand there to get beaten up. Moreover, someone in the crowd shouted out, “Zhou Minghu abuses and bullies his brothers. Since our Big Boss has turned his back against Zhou Minghu, we will also turn our backs against him. Fight them!”
The gang leaders from other majors who brought along their men were initially waiting for Zhou Minghu to delegate tasks to them, but they did not expect a fight to break out among the sports major people themselves. At once, they were at their wits’ end, not knowing what to do at that moment. Some of them started to have their own thoughts—if Zhou Minghu were to fall in the end, what was the use of relying on him anymore? Furthermore, Lin Huai walked in with so much confidence. It would be impossible that he was here without preparations; there must be more tricks under his sleeves.
Li Kandao and Li Guangzhi’s men were defeated in no time and the sports majors were already lessened by half.
Li Guangzhi was watching everything unfold and he had no strength left in him to explain himself. He finally understood that it was all Lin Huai’s plan. Though he still didn’t know in detail how Lin Huai managed to frame him, he sighed out of helplessness when he saw so many of his men lying in puddles of blood. He shut his eyes, for he did not want to explain himself nor watch anymore.
Lin Huai chuckled, “You’ve lost, Zhou Minghu.”
“I’ve lost?” Zhou Minghu burst into laughter, but his laughter was filled with rage, madness and even a hint of ferocity. “Lin Huai, I must admit that I’ve underestimated you. You managed to use my people against me but is that doing you any good? Don’t think that you’ve defeated me with just a few pieces of trash standing beside you?”
Lin Huai responded, “Do you think I only have these few people?”
After he finished talking, he clapped his hands, and suddenly, there were sounds of fast footsteps. Everyone turned their heads and immediately saw countless girls carrying weapons in their hands, making their way toward Lin Huai; the ones taking the lead were Gao Mengchao and her Golden Flowers.
Zhou Minghu looked completely grave by now; he had been overly complacent for the past few days and had neglected Gao Mengchao’s followers. He initially looked down on those girls, but now with almost half of his men gone from the fight just now, all of Li Kandao and Li Guangzhi’s men had fallen, and many of his own men were injured as well. Victory was not bound to be his yet even if his opponent was an army of girls.
Unless.
Zhou Minghu turned his gaze toward the army that summed up to thousands of people he gathered; they were from different majors and were there to have him distribute them into their respective factions. He glanced at them with a stern gaze and the people were still afraid of him. This made him less worried but just when he was about to speak, Lin Huai suddenly shouted, “Look who I’ve brought.”
Wu Jun suddenly turned back and walked toward the direction of a bush and grabbed a student up from the ground who looked like he was knocking at death’s door. That student was the traitor among Wu Shanhe’s men—Li Ming, the person who had betrayed Wu Shanhe back then.
Wu Jun dragged Li Ming—who was unconscious—over and slammed him to the ground. Lin Huai bellowed, “Those loyal brothers of Mr. Wu, does our agreement of the past two days still stand? What are you all waiting for?”
One by one, people started coming out from the crowd and walked toward Lin Huai. In the end, there were around 100 of them and their leader was a tall young man, who gave Lin Huai a deep bow and said gratifyingly, “Brother Huai, you’ve helped me discover my true self yesterday. You said you would help us settle Li Ming and that you can help us fight against Zhou Minghu to seek revenge for Big Brother Wu. I told you at that time that if you were able to do it, all of us will obey you from then on. Now that you’ve done your part, we will fulfil our part as well!”
“Good!” Lin Huai patted his shoulder and continued, “Chu Wenxing, you were Wu Shanhe’s top Red Cane before this. When Wu Shanhe had fallen, I had sent my men to secretly inform you not to oppose Zhou Minghu directly but instead, bring your men along to pretend to join Zhou Minghu. I told you that I will help you avenge Mr. Wu in a few days time. You listened to my instructions and now I have done what I promised. From now on, you are my brother and we will conquer the world arm-in-arm.”
“Yes, I am your brother!” Chu Wenxing and his men bowed deeply toward Lin Huai again.
Since Dao Zi was not beside Lin Huai at the moment, Chu Wenxing was currently the strongest person by his side in the whole school. Chu Wenxing was a formidable person who could challenge the Yulan’s Four Tigers one-on-one and might even emerge victorious from the Yulan’s Four Tigers, although his strength was still slightly weaker than Li Kandao.
Nobody expected such a plot twist. The remaining students who were waiting for Zhou Minghu to distribute them to their respective teams started becoming antsy. It was difficult to determine who had the upper hand now and they slowly started backing up. Each of the gang leaders were smiling cunningly as they said, “Mr. Hu, we are not officially under you yet. We will listen to your orders again once you have settled this matter.”
Lin Huai’s gaze turned to the computer science major’s direction and called out to them, “Those in the computer science major, do come over. If not, you shall learn what I am capable of.”
The computer science major observed the situation. Though logically speaking, it was still uncertain that Zhou Minghu would lose the fight, but since Lin Huai had voiced out first and managed to intimidate them, they could not help but suspect what other traps Lin Huai had set up for Zhou Minghu to fall into. They hesitated between Zhou Minghu and Lin Huai, but in the end, each and every one of them walked out from the crowd and headed toward Lin Huai.
Lin Huai had a complacent smile on his face and his confidence was through the roof. His sparkling eyes looked toward Zhou Minghu as he asked, “Zhou Minghu, what else do you have now? You still want to fight Miss Gao and I with the two or three hundred brothers you have behind you?”
