The Great Trump Card - Chapter 89
Chapter 89 Forces of the Northern District
Li Qianqian hugged Lin Huai as she implored, “Lin Huai, can you stop getting involved with the affairs of Yulan College? Leave this place as soon as possible. This place isn’t for you at all.”
“Where would suit me best then?” Lin Huai smiled; his eyes were filled with a heartbreaking resolution, the kind of resolution that wouldn’t budge an inch even if he was burnt, or even drowned by others. “Don’t you know? I’m suitable to exist in any part of this world where darkness exists. That is because my ultimate goal in life is to eliminate the existence of darkness. Otherwise, why would I be in Dragon Shield?”
Li Qianqian sighed. “In this world, if there is light, there will also be darkness.”
“You’re right.” Lin Huai grinned as he continued, “Everything is happening according to the ordinance, just as the students thought that Yulan College will always remain the same, and even the teachers believed that the students are out of control even if they have the right intent, which was why in the end all of them gave up one after another. But then, Miss Pu Yingxue took the initiative and her actions actually moved me. Matters that others thought would remain unchanged forever might not necessarily be the ordinance, but it was just that people are not courageous enough to make a change.”
Lin Huai smiled faintly as he continued, “I don’t have the power to change the world. Most parts of this world are great enough and just little areas of darkness remain. I’m here to get rid of it partially, can’t I even make that happen?”
Li Qianqian asked instead, “Have you ever considered your own safety? Have you ever thought of the dangers you might encounter?”
Lin Huai replied with a smile, “It is always inevitable to take some risk in order to achieve something.”
“But what do you want to achieve? You have completed your mission and no matter what you do in the future, you won’t be sponsored by our chairman anymore.”
“Humans don’t live only for money. Besides, do I really look like I lack money? I can afford to eat and drink, so why can’t I do something that I want?” Lin Huai kissed Li Qianqian’s forehead and laughed. “Qianqian, you are a great woman. I understand that you are worried about me. But please be rest assured, you don’t have to worry about my affairs and just focus on your work happily. If Wei Sihai bullies you, then I advise you to quit your job. If he hurts you or does anything that causes you harm, you must contact the police immediately.”
Li Qianqian shook her head and said, “I’ll be fine. I’m just worried about you.”
Lin Huai laughed instead as he replied, “Do you really need to worry about your man? Have a little confidence in what I am capable of. I can easily settle simple matters.”
“Alright then.” Li Qianqian sat up and leaned against the head of the bed. She took on a serious expression and regained the composure of a strong and independent woman as she started explaining, “Let me walk you through the situation in the Northern District. Yulan College is also included in this area, and while the Northern District is the area in which underground activities are the most chaotic and rampant in Tongcheng City, do you know exactly why the situation is like that?”
Seeing that Li Qianqian was in her serious mood, Lin Huai realigned himself and asked, “Is it because it is related to Yulan College?”
She nodded in response and continued, “Tongcheng City is divided into four major districts; the east, west, north and south. Other than that, it has a city centre with the most prosperous downtown area, where every thug has been cleared away, hence it’s peaceful over there. However, within those four major areas, the three major areas have their own leaders, who are known as the ‘East Heavenly King’, the ‘West Heavenly King’, and the ‘South Heavenly King’. However, there is no such leader in the Northern District, but the forces in the Northern District would unite against external threats, which is the reason why the other Three Heavenly Kings dare not mess around in the Northern District.”
Lin Huai nodded in understanding and asked, “So what forces are there in the Northern District?”
Li Qianqian replied, “The Northern District has the Three Overlords, and the strongest and largest forces belong to the ‘Thunder God’, Tang Shi. The other two forces would have to team up to contend with his forces. Actually, Thunder God intended to hasten his conquering of the Northern District, but the plan was ruined by you.”
Lin Huai’s eyes flickered as he asked, “Zhou Minghu is one of Thunder God’s men?”
“That’s right.” Li Qianqian sighed. “Zhou Minghu has always been the key influence Thunder God groomed in the school. By killing Zhou Minghu, not only did you make Thunder God suffer the loss of a capable underling, he also lost many potential lower-level underlings. Zhou Minghu had so many followers after all, and they would have been recruited into the Thunder Gang when they graduated. Once they have been roped into the Thunder Gang, the normal members might just be considered as lower-level underlings, but the Four Red Canes and Twin Red Canes can at least become lower-ranked leaders. Thunder God’s strength will be greatly bolstered and it will be much easier to eliminate the two other forces.”
Lin Huai laughed, “What about Gao Mengchao? Is she also related to the external syndicates?
“I’ve helped you to look it up the past two days.” Li Qianqian went on, “Among the three major forces in the Northern District, other than the Thunder God, there are still two other forces which are called ‘Rakshasa Gang’ and ‘True Martial Gate’. The Big Boss of Rakshasa Gang is a woman called Yu Luosha. She has a White Paper Fan, a Straw Sandal, and ten Red Canes serving under her. All of them are women and the Rakshasa Gang was formed by thirteen of them, including Yu Luosha. Rakshasa Gang slowly gained reputation until today and people would still call them by their former nickname, ‘The Thirteen Gang Girls’.”
“One of the girls died later and they have been wanting to fill in the ranks. It is said that they took a liking to Gao Mengchao. Hence, Gao Mengchao will probably be given the position in Rakshasa Gang after she graduates.”
Lin Huai whistled and commented, “She is indeed powerful. She will hold a higher position in a gang even before she graduates from school.”
Li Qianqian nodded and continued, “Yu Luosha is indeed a badass character. It is said that she takes good care of the people in the gang, yet she is ruthless toward her enemies. She is someone who dares to fight and slaughter her way through tough situations. Even though her forces can only be ranked second, even Thunder God needs to be cautious of her.”
Lin Huai grinned. “She is indeed amazing to have so much influence and hold so much power.”
Lin Qianqian added on, “Thunder God had once laid a trap to rape her, but she turned the tables on him. She threatened him with a gun and casually walked away. That incident shocked the entire Northern District’s underworld, and since then, Yu Luosha’s reputation soared.”
Lin Huai could imagine the scenario where many enemies were surrounding her, but she just whipped out a gun and placed it against Thunder God’s head, using him as a hostage and left confidently; it was indeed awe-inspiring.
Li Qianqian kept on with her narration. “The third force would be the True Martial Gate. The reason why it’s called this name is because their leader is a Wushu maniac. Other than the big bosses in the gang, he has also accepted a lot of disciples. Wu Shanhe used to worship him as his master.”
Lin Hai asked, “So Wu Shanhe would have been his underling if nothing happened to him?”
Li Qianqian nodded again and continued, “Even if something happened to Wu Shanhe, he would still be his underling a few months later when he gets out of the hospital.”
Lin Huai responded, “I didn’t expect that there would be so many gangs in just a quarter of the territories of Tongcheng City.”
Li Qianqian said with a tinge of emotion, “Tongcheng City is neither big nor small. The whole city has a population of nearly ten million people and the Northern District has more or less a million people.”
Lin Huai said, “That’s true, but it is indeed chaotic in Tongcheng City.”
Li Qianqian sighed, but kept going, “That was the reason why I didn’t want you to get involved with these trivial matters. Before this, you were just carrying out your mission in the school and, naturally, those students would not be able to defeat an outstanding bodyguard like you. But you killed Zhou Minghu, which would probably cause Thunder God to turn his arrow toward you. He holds a force of more than two thousand people under him, and most of them are basically grown men. Even your school’s sports major are just little chicks in their eyes. He could simply send two hundred men and still easily beat them all up.”
Lin Huai casually responded, “I know.”
“The Red Canes serving under him are powerful figures as well.”
Lin Huai chuckled. “Qianqian, do you think that I will back down just upon hearing the things you said?”
“I know that you won’t simply back down at my statement, but I just hope that you can be mentally prepared.” Li Qianqian pulled a serious face as she spoke, “They are all legitimate gangsters, unlike those small fries in school. Zhou Minghu might be the only person who had the guts to kill a person, but these gangsters are always ready to kill.”
Lin Huai was also feeling worried upon hearing her words. The mission this time would be different from the past; back then, the enemies would always target the person who hired him, but this time the enemies would be directly targeting him instead.
Li Qianqian continued, “This was all that I could find out. Anyway, you should be more careful and aware when carrying out your missions.”
“I will.” Lin Huai hugged Li Qianqian and said with a gentle voice, “How about going for another round?”
“That’s enough…”
“Then tell me, who was it exactly that harmed you before this?”
“Please don’t look into it, okay?”
“Alright… Just remember to inform me next time. I would never allow anyone to harm you, including Wei Sihai.”
After the conversation ended, Lin Huai pressed his body against Lin Qianqian who was underneath him, and once again they began their amorous activities.
Lin Huai returned to class on the next day. What was more surprising was that Wei Qimian also came to school, even though Lin Huai initially thought that Wei Sihai wouldn’t let her out. However, everyone’s attitude toward her changed drastically; the people in class, regardless of male or female students, would keep glancing at her when she was just sitting there reading a book. This school was founded by Wei Sihai after all and she would be considered as the princess in school; even the headmaster couldn’t overrule her.
Upon noticing Lin Huai’s return, Wei Qimian looked up with a smile on her face. Lin Huai walked over to his seat and sat down, before looking at her with a smile as he announced in a serious tone, “Wei Qimian, I will court you officially from today onward.”
This would be Lin Huai’s greatest proclamation of love in his lifetime.
