The Indescribable Diary - Chapter 42
Chapter 42: We’re Actually Back to Farm
Yu Yi took out his phone. Although he had clarified everything in private messages, he still had to exchange information in the game. Yu Yi edited all of his information before sending them to Juzi and Lizi, who were still alive. At the same time, he received a message from Juzi. This was considered an information exchange. Since Juzi had constantly been spreading the word that Yu Yi had been swallowed by the Clock Tower, Yu Yi was not yet on the wanted list. A ‘dead’ person didn’t need to be chased.
Before meeting up, Yu Yi needed to go to the hotel at the parade square to collect the detonator, which was left behind by Fengye. He would try to blow up the cemetery, if he could. Although he didn’t know what they wanted to do, he saw the zombies at the large cemetery. Not just that, Yu Yi had entered the nest of the ghouls after escaping from the alternate dimension, which was fortunate. Wait, he was spotted by the Hound… not that fortunate after all.
If he wanted to solve the case after blowing up the ghoul nest, he didn’t have to wait until the abyss fell. Lizi and Juzi would just move into action and assassinate the boss. In the alternate dimension, Yu Yi had killed the monster. As long as he could destroy the Star Color in the church and blow up the clock tower, he would’ve finished half the instance mission.
Damn… How did they look like returning scholars? They were obviously terrorists out to wreak havoc!
After making sure that he wasn’t a fugitive, he arrived at the bar where Fengye left the secret code. He took the opportunity when no one was looking and hid himself in a partitioned room. He then found the detonator beneath the sofa. It was lucky that the instance mission was in the modern context, so he was able to detonate the explosives remotely. He wasn’t quite sure how Fengye made it, but since it was in his hands, he would just have to trust his chances.
He pressed the button lightly.
[. rd = 1. Great Success]
The KP threw a dice, but didn’t tell Yu Yi what exactly the dice was rolled for. Anyway, it was a great success.
Boom!!!
A horrifying explosion came from somewhere quite nearby. Yu Yi was shocked as he sprinted outside.
Beautiful fireworks erupted in town. There wasn’t just one place, but three places… The Clock Tower shuddered and collapsed. The ceiling of the police station was flipped open as the police station was reduced to a flaming pile of rubble. In the far distance, fireworks shot into the sky too. It was the cemetery. Seems like the gasses emitted by the rotting corpses were ignited by the fire.
Did this mean that the check just now was for the explosives or was it luck? By any means, it was a beneficial one. However, why was the police station blown up?
[Ahem, nice fireworks! But strange, my explosives that were supposed to blow up the Clock Tower didn’t work, but now it exploded. Is it because you’re here?]
Fengye had torn his card. As a spectator, he was impressed by the power of the explosives.
[Just how much explosives did you plant?]
Looking at the results of the explosion, Yu Yi was almost scared to death by his own handicraft.
[For the police station, I placed one inside the station, one in the armory, and one at the doorway. I threw an undetonated one into the clock tower beforehand too. One more at the entrance to the cemetery, which you threw in just now. Juzi has one for the old church, too.]
Fengye counted the total number of bombs he had planted with his fingers.
This was to say, they made six high-power explosives! No wonder the KP released both the Hound and the Star Color. Were you back here to farm? You’ve blown up the armory. No wonder the police station was decimated. But there’s something else! How did you plant three bombs in the police station without getting discovered! Were the policemen brainwashed idiots? You died in their hands! And gave up valuable information too! Fengye, did you become stupid in Australia?
Yu Yi left quickly and buried the detonator at a deserted corner. He then walked towards the ruins of the church to meet the other two.
After being marked by the Hound, he had to wait somewhere to die. Meanwhile, the other two were preparing to assassinate the leader of the mafia. Their Anthropology checks had passed. The mafia leader was indeed a human, although all of his followers were not. However, in this state, they could probably be defeated. Their sacrificial ground, the cemetery, had been destroyed along with the police station. They would be quite busy.
The clock tower was a sacrificial ground too, as it was closest to the sky. However, they still didn’t know who was worshipped there. Yu Yi was right. The believers of Yogg usually didn’t create chaos. Since that was a foreign missionary, the perpetrators of all these had to be local. But why did they kill the priest? Wouldn’t the priest be in cahoots with them?
Walking towards the ruins, Yu Yi gradually began to hear the whispers of some strange creature. The KP’s dice rattled.
“Damn! So fast?! Wasn’t the attack supposed to happen only once a day?”
Or was that Hound in a paradigm nearby?
The situation was clear. The Hound was coming!
A sports car sped towards him, drifted around a corner and stopped before Yu Yi.
“Let’s go!” The door opened as Lizi’s face poked out.
“Damn, where did your car come from?” Looking at Juzi in the driver’s seat, Yu Yi was perplexed.
“Car repo mission.”
This wasn’t GTA5…
Clambering onto the car, Yu Yi looked backwards. It hadn’t appeared yet, but it would soon. That was a premonition.
Juzi got out of the driver’s seat and sat on the back row, while Lizi, who had better driving stats, sat in the driver’s seat. She touched the steering wheel. “Cars… There’s really so much power and speed. In my times, there were only horse-drawn carriages.”
“Shut up and drive!”
“OK! Driving passed! Let’s go!”
The female driver pushed the pedal to the metal, and the engine roared. The car sped towards the ruins.
[Are you sure the Hound and the Star Color are fighting you and not each other?]
Huahua had returned.
[I’m not sure, but we’ll have to take our chances. Even if the KP arranged this to tear off our cards, it’s probably against the rules. For AI-run KPs, they almost always have to give you at least a chance of survival. Unlike Juzi’s shitty KP, which tore his card without any explanation.]
So this was why Fengye recommended Yu Yi go to the church. Even if Yu Yi was killed by the Hound, the Hound would be delayed by Star Color.
[What if the Hound wasn’t there when we arrived? Or worse, what if it arrived first?]
[Then we’ll sacrifice Daocao.]
What the hell? Why me again?!
