The Indescribable Diary - Chapter 54
Chapter 54: An Unknown Celebrity
What was this? Has the plot begun? Why does it feel so old-fashioned!
Yu Yi looked at the flustered young girl. Although she was completely covered in her black robe, she had the physique of a young girl. She obviously didn’t know how to drive. One had to wonder how she managed to start the car.
“Hey, miss. Do you know how to stop?”
The car accelerated. There were even a few near misses as the car brushed past the sidewalk barrier. To avoid the scenario of inexplicably being killed in a car accident, Yu Yi asked her aloud.
“Eh?! Eeeek!”
After a momentary pause, she immediately looked backwards. She was shocked by Yu Yi’s presence.
So she didn’t know that someone was sitting behind her!!!
“This is strange!!! There ought to be only one person!! Sorry!”
Her voice was sweet. When paired with her face, which was slightly panicky, and her blue hair, she looked demure and beautiful. Of course, this was but an illusion. Yu Yi quickly realised that she was not demure at all. In fact, she was quite outspoken.
Hmm… Here’s another NPC whose APP was higher than 17. Her voice was filled with panic, but was especially pleasing to the ears. It wasn’t pleasant or uplifting, but plainly, purely pleasing to the ears. It was a strange sensation.
“Driving wise, I’ve learned how to do this properly! I can handle these simple machines!”
After the initial panic, the girl managed to calm herself down. While driving, she looked around in all directions, as though she was searching for something.
“In that case, could you stop running those red lights.” This was the seventh red light… That driver was in deep trouble.
However, the girl turned around and asked, “What’s a red light?”
What the heck! She was not just a female driver, but also a problem child! Stop on red and go on green… yuck! Who wouldn’t know “stop on red and go on green”?!
A screeching sound came from behind them. Looking back, they saw four or five police cars with flashing sirens on the tail of the taxi. A few more police cars had taken a shortcut to the intersection in front, as though preparing to execute an interception. Where did this female driver, who had no common sense, come from?! And why were there so many policemen? Was she a five-star wanted criminal?
“Wow! These people are so annoying! I just can’t get them off my tail!”
The young girl complained as the sirens blared. At the same time, the taxi accelerated again. It looked like she was trying to break through the cordon.
Even if Yu Yi was stupid, he would’ve known that the plot was about to begin. He was about to face his first choice. This nonsensical young girl was about to break through the cordon. No matter whether she could succeed or not, there was no way she could get rid of the police cars on her tail. Additionally, even if she was able to ditch the pursuers, she wouldn’t be able to avoid the helicopter in the sky! How so many police units could be activated in such a short time in this country, no one knew.
He hugged his head silently. The young girl must be no simpleton as police cars were so adamant in catching her. Yu Yi certainly didn’t think that they could break through the police cordon this easily. They might even be hit by rockets or bullets. He assumed the posture of surrender.
However, what confused Yu Yi was that the taxi charged past the cordon with ease. They sustained no attack. There wasn’t even the sound of a shot being fired. There weren’t any cars blocking their way on the road either. Instead, the ground was covered with inflatable cushions. It seemed like that policemen were not here to catch her, but to prevent her from getting hurt. Strange. Was this not a case of an escaped prisoner, but rather a game played by some angry princess?
Finally, the policemen gave up. Even the helicopters in the sky had retreated. Yu Yi was confused. What plot was this?
“Huh… I’m hungry…”
In an instant, the car toppled a roadside railing. The girl opened the door callously and looked around at the gawking passers-by. Then, she chose a seafood restaurant and said, “Let’s go there to eat!”
“Huh?”
Yu Yi, who was slightly disoriented by the powerful impact, was dragged off the taxi by the girl before he even realised what had happened. With him in tow, they headed for the restaurant.
Damn! My maiden! Let me call you my maiden, alright! Have you realised that you were still being pursued by the police! And why are you taking me to lunch! I’m just a Kamen Rider passing by!
Yu Yi tried to free himself from her grasp, but he realised that no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t loosen the grip of her slender, fair arms.
[Seems like the power resistance had failed.]
What power resistance are you talking about! Where did this NPC come from! She looked like someone with a power of less than 10 points!
Yu Yi had given up hope as he was dragged into the restaurant by the girl. Although he didn’t actually know what was going on, the plot should have been arranged by the KP. Never mind… there was nothing he could do.
“So… miss, why did you bring me here?”
“I heard that this item is necessary when I’m hungry and need to eat outside. But I don’t have it.”
As she spoke, she lifted her hand. A familiar-looking wallet was in her hands. That was Yu Yi’s wallet!
“When?!”
He reached out and touched his waist pack, only to realise that it was empty. He wasn’t sure when, but she had nicked his wallet! Oh shit?! What was this NPC even! It is said that Blue Hairs came with the attribute of intelligence UP! But then again, it seems like she had violated this law!
Under the curious gaze of the bystanders, the girl found her seat and grabbed the menu. And then, she ordered every single seafood-related dish on the menu, “I want this, this, and that!”
So expensive… Forget it, if I complain about it now, I would’ve lost… Just nice, I’m a bit hungry.
“Give me this one,” Yu Yi ordered a dish at random. Just as he was contemplating his next steps, the girl, who was sitting beside him, snatched the menu from him. “You can’t order dishes with cuttlefish in them!”
Damn?! My maiden! You’re using my money for lunch… never mind, she’s the NPC. This was part of the plot, so Yu Yi would let her have her way… It had to be part of the plot…
“Then…”
“No octopus or squid either!”
“…Fine, give me a steak… Is that allowed?” He couldn’t believe that he was having steak at a seafood restaurant…
Looking at the waiter, who wanted to laugh but didn’t dare to, Yu Yi was somewhat enraged. The waiter must have misunderstood…
The girl put down the menu and rested her head on the table. Without any grace, she looked at Yu Yi and said, “You’re pretty nice. Way nicer than the people in white.”
No shit. My wallet and my identification papers were with you. If you don’t return them to me, I’ll have no choice but to become a thief.
“Hmm, let’s get to know each other. I’m Yu Xing, a tourist from Hua Xia.”
He extended his hands towards the young girl. She had to be an important NPC, but it wouldn’t hurt to make friends.
“Lilice Cassila. Call me Lilice will do~”
Their hands touched. Yu Yi had definitely heard her name somewhere, but he didn’t have that much of an impression at the same time. Well, many of these foreigners have similar names anyway. Even if characters with the same name appeared it would be nothing surprising. It was just that this unknown person seemed like a big hassle.
[But isn’t she cute?]
All of a sudden, the KP’s voice appeared. There was a hint of ridicule in his gloating tone.
“Not that bad… She’s really quite cute.”
Crash…
For some reason, Yu Yi heard the shatter of glass the moment he finished his sentence.
[Hm, that’s OK. All the best, young man. Although I aim to tear your card, you’ll meet your fair share of trouble before that.]
