Chapter 125 The Four Horsemen and The Delayed Flight
TL: Kyous
Leo held the taser with his hands and with a snap, the taser broke into pieces. Using his finger to pry, he picked out the “Miniaturized Anti-gravity Repulsor” from the fragments. It was a flat cylindrical shape, like the size of a coin, but slightly thicker.
“Huh? Looks like Tony really is talented in making stuff tiny…” Pinching the mini repulsor with his fingers, he placed it in front of his eyes while muttering in a daze.
With the “Miniaturized Anti-gravity Repulsor”, he believed his Viper finally had the chance to take flight! Not to mention capable of firing energy blasts as well! As a result, Viper would be totally cool!
“Hehehe!” Fantasizing the future, an image of him flying in the sky emerged in his mind, and he involuntarily let out a laugh.
Ol’ Tom, who was driving the car, heard the laugh and took a glance at the rearview mirror before inquiring, “Boss, why are you so happy? Burp…” Ol’ Tom drank quite a considerable amount of sake. When he opened his mouth, he couldn’t resist burping.
“A bountiful haul from tonight, I’m…” Leo’s nose suddenly twitched, “Ol’ Tom, are you secretly drinking again? Didn’t I tell you to only drink water at the bar?”
“Boss, it’s just sake…”
“You’re still denying?! Although I’m not a bar owner, I know sake is alcohol!”
“Hehe!” Ol’ Tom laughed ruefully and continued driving the car seriously.
……
The next day at 8 in the morning. In a hotel suite, Leo was watching the morning news.
“According to the authorities, between 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. today, an unknown group premeditatedly infiltrated the British Museum and committed theft. Based on the data disclosed by the museum, the group managed to steal three pieces of artifacts that amounted to tens of millions of dollars. They are still currently on the run.
The authorities’ investigation and collected evidence had determined a prime suspect. It’s the world’s infamous robbery gang, the Four Horsemen[1].
The authorities hereby urge the members of the gang to turn themselves in to strive for leniency.
Meanwhile, another alarming news is that this early morning, the authorities found the American billionaire, Tony Stark, and his bodyguard, Happy Hogan tied up in an alley near the British Museum.
From what they testified, when they were having an early morning stroll, they bumped into the members of the Four Horsemen and were tied by them in the alley. However, it was a fortune that the group only seeks valuable, not the lives of innocents. Hence the two of them remained unharmed.
The authorities hereby remind every London citizen and tourist they must ensure themselves not walking in the middle of the night to prevent accidents from happening.
On the other hand, facing online rumors, the acting CEO of America’s Stark Industries, Obadiah Stane, issued a statement that states Tony’s appearance in England is due to the sudden loss of his parents and right now is traveling around the world for a break. He also states that he absolutely has no intentions of expelling Tony away, after all, Tony Stark is still the CEO of Stark Industries. Furthermore, he expresses his concerns for Tony Stark and earnestly hopes Tony Stark will immediately return to Stark Industries to take over the work his father left behind.
Now, let’s have a look at entertainment news…”
Picking up the remote controller, Leo switched off the television and caressed his chin in thought. ‘As expected, the police simply find a robbery group and pin the theft on their heads.’
He originally believed the museum’s personnel would blame it on Spider-man! As the only evidence left on the crime scene was the tons of spider webs. But the webs would dissolve after three hours, so when the police realized the evidence vanished all of a sudden, they were convinced it was magic. Ultimately, they connected the crime to the Four Horsemen!
Or, London’s police never even heard of Spider-man from New York streets. Hence, not connect the crime to Peter.
Regardless, this matter had no connection to Leo in the end and he didn’t care who became the scapegoat for London’s police. Nonetheless, losing three pieces of precious artifacts… This matter got Leo scratching his head. Perhaps the museum’s personnel calculated wrongly?!
“Ahhh-haaaa.” Out of the blue, Ol’ Tom rubbed his eyes and let out a huge yawn before walking out of his room. He had driven for the entire night and was extremely tired. The moment he came back, he went to sleep right away. Coupled with he had been drinking a bit, right now his throat was parched, and prepared to look for some water to drink.
“Boss, you’re awake? Morning!” Stretching his waist, he suddenly felt the urge to pee and hurriedly went to the toilet while grumbling, “It’s nice to be young.”
Leo didn’t reply to him and took out the Vibranium shield and pickaxe from a black sack. Holding each of them in one hand, he slammed them together.
Woo!
The pickax and shield let out a constant trembling noise. The rust on the surface began to fall off, instantly becoming clean and shiny.
Just as Ol’ Tom came out of the toilet, he saw this and immediately walked over, asking, “Boss, what are these two things? They are the ones we stole in the middle of the night, right?”
“Steal?! Ol’ Tom, mind your language.” Leo pushed Ol’ Tom aside, “These are a rather rare metal. I’m using them to upgrade my armor. You don’t have to worry about it.”
“Oh, okay!” Ol’ Tom carelessly replied before continuing to look for water to drink.
“Oh yeah, Ol’ Tom. When’s our return flight?”
“The day after tomorrow, 2nd of October.”
“Can it be changed to today afternoon or night? Our matters here are done. It’s better to return early.”
“We can go to the airport this afternoon and try.” With a cup of water in his hand, Ol’ Tom pondered for a bit before pointing at the Vibranium in Leo’s hand with his other hand and asked, “What about those? Can they be brought back?”
“The things the museum lost were ancient-rusty things. The ones in my hand are even shinier than a newly made stainless steel pot. They won’t recognize them.” Leo was rather confident in this matter.
“By the way, about Crippler’s goons that we beat to death, what is his response?”
Ol’ Tom gulped a mouthful of ice water and smiled, “Crippler’s attitude is great. He thanked us for teaching his subordinates, Also, he’s giving us a 50% discount for the next shipment.”
Looking at Ol’ Tom’s gleeful face, it seemed Crippler was afraid of him.
“Alright then.” Leo nodded, “Hurry up and wash up. We’ll find Crippler to ship these things back to America later.”
……
“Attention ladies and gentlemen, flight AC2333 from London, England to Toronto, Canada has been delayed for an indefinite period of time due to unforeseen circumstances. Passengers of AC2333, please wait patiently for further information.”
“Attention ladies and gentlemen…”
Passenger A, “Why was the flight delayed all of a sudden? I have to change to another flight when I arrive in Toronto! S*it, I don’t know if I can make it or not!”
Passenger B, “I’m glad I bought insurance. What a fortune!”
Passenger C, “Hello, sir. I’m Air Canada’s VIP. I have urgent matters in Toronto, can you tell me when’s the exact time of departure?”
Airport staff, “My apology, sir. I’ve no clue about it. Please wait patiently, sir.”
Leo and Ol’ Tom were sitting in the lounges. As it was uncertain when the plane would take flight, they could only wait in boredom.
In the morning, they handed the items to Crippler. Crippler took a look at the items and patted his chest in confidence. Within three days, everything would be safely shipped to New York. Then, both of them swiftly came to London City Airport.
When they arrived at the airport, it was half past one in the afternoon. They had immediately rescheduled the flight to one departing at 4.30 p.m., which they then transited to a flight in Toronto that headed to New York.
Initially, they thought they would be back in New York City at around 11 o’clock at night. Unbeknownst to anyone, it was already 7 at night. The flight had been delayed for two and a half hours. Yet right now, there was still no exact information regarding the flight’s departure time.
“Move! Move!”
Seeing the waiting passengers getting more and more cranky, a commotion suddenly occurred in the right corridor.
