The Lunatic Obsessed With Me - Chapter 21
‘…I have a bad feeling.’
Juliana fiddled with the red ring she wore on her index finger. It was a magical weapon in the form of a ring. Its original form was a dagger. From time to time Juliana tried to get rid of the magic orb that suppressed her magical powers.
Now it seemed that the time had come for it to bear fruit.
‘Just a little more and I can use my magic.’
Juliana made a grim expression and cast her eyes on the locked door. In order for her to escape as soon as possible, she must free herself from the magic orb.
Magic that was enough to teleport with Louis in one go without fail…… She had to fully regain her magic to do this.
She didn’t know what would happen if she tried and failed halfway through. Juliana clenched her fist and pressed her lips hard.
Then,
Knock Knock. Someone knocked on the door.
With a click, the door opened and the lunatic’s butler appeared.
When Juliana’s and his eyes met, the butler politely looked for someone.
“Julie, what is it?”
“You must come with me.”
The butler approached Louis with a hasty gait. The butler leaned over and whispered something to Louis.
‘Do you really have to say it in secret like that?’
She felt bad when the two talked in front of her and felt alienated. Juliana raised her eyebrows. Louis nodded his head at the butler’s words with a dull look on his face, an expression that said he was bored.
“Julie, I’ll be back right back.”
“…Okay.”
A blunt reply came out of Juliana’s mouth. The man, keenly aware when it came to Juliana, brushed lint off her clothes and spoke to her kindly.
“I will be back soon.”
“Okay…….”
Juliana nodded her head slightly, and then Louis followed the butler.
Thud.
A small noise was heard from the window. Juliana, who was lying on her bed, walked up to the window.
‘… A crow?’
A crow was flapping its wings outside.
‘How did you get here?’
It was a very tall mansion. No matter how much it flapped its wings, it was not high enough for a bird to fly to.
“……”
Juliana put one hand on her waist and stared at the unfamiliar guest. She was very puzzled seeing this.
“Cacaw~.”
The crow spotted Juliana and banged on the window.
‘What?’
Juliana looked at the crow with a curious expression. What should she do? She felt like it had come here to see her.
‘That’s it!’
Juliana’s eyes widened in an instant. As she looked closely, a yellow piece of paper was tied to the crow’s tiny leg. Juliana blinked her eyes and tried to open the window.
However, the locked window did not budge no matter how hard she pushed it.
A transparent membrane surrounded the window frame so the window could not be opened.
‘What if…’
Unlike Louis, who was free to move in and out of the room, Juliana was limited in her movements.
“Huh?!”
That was then. The crow vanished like smoke right before her eyes. To be specific, the crow scattered into the air in the form of some kind of powder, like grains.
‘Magic.’
Juliana watched the scene with sharp eyes. Black sand-like grains gathered in the air to form a certain shape.
A language that only wizards could understand.
Sand floated around and made letters in the air. The letters combined and it said, ‘I’ll be there soon.’
Juliana’s eyes widened at the person’s initial that suddenly appeared and disappeared.
A.
It was his message. It was so long ago when he went to the tower that she had completely forgotten.
‘The message was delivered well.’
Her heart pounded at the message that A would come to rescue her.
Thump Thump.
Juliana smiled brightly with refreshed eyes. Now, once A comes, she could leave with Louis.
***
Last night’s sleep was a mess. Juliana couldn’t sleep well because of all the thoughts in her head.
Three weeks had passed. Sometimes it felt like it had been so long and sometimes it felt short. Juliana closed her eyes tightly and recalled her memories from the past.
When did everything start to go downhill? Was it when she found out about Robert and Rosa’s betrayal? Or did it begin from her overnight escape with a stranger?
Juliana clutched her duvet tightly. Once she got out of this place she had a lot of work to do. Sooner or later she would also have to return to the social world.
‘I’m going to be busy.’
The flow of the social world changed every moment. Trends changed like flipping palms, so she had to keep up with them. She figured she’d be busy for a while.
“Huuu…”
At that moment, her thoughts were interrupted by a small sound that broke the silence. What was that sound? Juliana opened her eyes. Golden eyes shone clearly in the dark room.
“Louis…?”
“Ugh……”
The faint breathing sound that seemed like a person that was close to the end was audible. Juliana, sensing something was strange, jumped out of her bed.
Her heart pounded at the weak breaths that came from beyond the curtains opposite her. Juliana hurriedly pulled the curtains back.
A man with blue hair was laying down on the bed.
A crescent moon rose in the night sky. The moonlight that came in through the windows was obscured by the clouds and created a shadow. In the darkness that covered the night, her gaze was mistaken for a moment, enough to confuse Louis’ blue hair for black at first glance. Juliana quickly regained her senses.
‘Oh my God!’
Louis was sweating profusely. Juliana quickly climbed up on his bed and lowered Louis’ blanket that rose up to his neck. She placed her hand on his forehead. Fortunately, there was no fever.
“Ugh…….”
Louis, feeling her presence, turned his body slightly and slowly opened his eyes.
“Julie?”
It was a distance that was close to each other, enough for their faces to touch.
“…Why is Julie in my bed……”
Juliana stiffened at the man who blinked his eyes.
She just wanted to lower his blanket because he looked hot… She couldn’t get rid of the feeling that she had been caught doing something bad. Juliana sighed and hid her hand behind her back.
“Oh, are you awake?”
Juliana belatedly put on an awkward smile after she had removed her hand from his forehead.
“Louie, were you having a nightmare?”
“N-No, I-I’m fine….”
The cracked voice slightly stuttered. Bewildered, Juliana quickly observed the man.
A slow response. The appearance of avoiding her gaze with pupils that trembled. Juliana looked at him with scrutinizing eyes. She was also concerned about the sweat dripping down his forehead.
“Louie, what’s wrong?”
“Did you have a nightmare?”
“N-No, I’m fine…R-Really.”
He mumbled softly, his sentences still stuttering.
‘How strange.’
Juliana quickly glanced over Louis.
His hair that was wet from sweat stuck to his forehead. He had a rigid posture and his eyes quivered. Even his fingers shook as he clenched his collar tightly.
‘That look…’
As expected it was a patient’s appearance!
“Louie, does it hurt anywhere? You were groaning earlier……”
Louis shook his head at her question. However, Juliana, who was still in doubt, asked again.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“……”
“…Are you sick?”
She felt bad having to ask questions in the middle of the night, but seeing his cold sweat made her suspicious. Her eyes kept skimming over his slightly pale skin.
“No, Julie.”
“…!!!”
When Louis, who had been talking slowly this whole time, answered quickly, she felt that it was rather suspicious. It seemed to support Juliana’s suspicions.
‘More than that… First things first, what should I do about this cold sweat…’
The sweat that dripped down his forehead bothered her. Juliana approached him with a worried expression.
At that, she gently turned Louis to his side, his back facing her.
She rolled up Louis’ top, red marks were revealed.
It looked very painful. Juliana smacked her lips.
‘…How painful it must have been.’
Some of the marks looked new.
‘…How did this happen?!’
Juliana quickly thought about it. It didn’t happen when he was with her. Then it happened when they were apart…
When she wasn’t with him.
When he got called by the lunatic.
‘No way.’
At the thought, Juliana asked in disbelief.
“Louie, maybe this… Was it left by the lunatic?”
Louis flinched slightly when she brought up the lunatic. Juliana did not miss that moment. She stared intently at him and asked for an answer, but after a while, there was no reply from Louis.
His silence could only be taken as yes.
Juliana’s eyelashes fluttered at Louis’ silence.
‘Since when did he start bothering Louis?’
Without realizing it, her hands tightened.
“I-It hurts.”
She looked back at Louis’ at his small murmur. With his broad shoulders and back exposed, Louis curled his body.
Her sadness doubled when he saw his pitiful appearance. Louis truly looked so pitiful.
“If you get hurt in the future, tell me… I’ll apply some ointment.”
“If you have wounds, they will need to be disinfected and treated.”
Louis, who let her put it on him, was a fool, and she blamed herself for not noticing all this.
But still.
It was inflamed so it couldn’t be left alone. Uggh.
“Yes, Julie.”
As she expressed her frustration, Louis responded quickly as she moved fingers. His back full of wounds looked pathetic and pitiful.
As she tried to take her hand away, she made eye contact with Louis who slowly turned.
