The Mafia’s Bride Snatcher - Chapter 31
Chapter 31 Sara
The tracker showed that Irina was now in a hotel in Manhattan. We drove back to New York immediately. We’d taken this road to and from New York and Philadelphia many times, but today’s journey felt especially long. When we reached the hotel, the tracker showed that we were getting closer to Irina. “Roy, it’s your turn.” Roy hacked into the hotel’s surveillance system and quickly found the scene of Irina being helped into the hotel by two people. The elevator’s surveillance camera showed that the elevator stopped on the 21st floor, but the surveillance camera on the 21st floor was actually malfunctioning. Damn it!
I got the universal door card used for housekeeping purposes, and Roy took only a minute to duplicate a few. We opened each room to check, but we still didn’t find Irina. “Where the hell is she?” I punched the wall.
The tracker showed that she was here, but I couldn’t find her.
At that moment, both Ivan and I had our eyes focused on an equipment room at the corner of the stairwell.
Daniel pried open the metal door to the equipment room and we entered a damp space. The machines around us rumbled, and a dozen sets of fans that smelled like motor oil blew across the room. I saw a woman at the end of the room. She was sitting in a chair with her back to the door. “Irina? Is that you?” I walked over quickly. The closer I got to her, the more certain I was that she was Irina. She was tied to a chair. I squatted on the ground and slowly placed my fingers on the side of her neck. I felt her weak pulse. There were some small wounds on her body that should have been inflicted when the glass was broken.
“Irina? Irina? I’ll take you home.” I patted her face gently. Daniel ran over and untied her.
I checked Irina’s body to make certain she wasn’t seriously injured. I scooped Irina up and walked outside. Daniel swiped his room card and opened an empty room.
I placed her gently on the bed while the others withdrew from the room.
Irina still hadn’t awakened. I called my private doctor.
“The patient may have suffered a blow to the head. I suggest a brain scan at the hospital,” Dr. Jenkins said.

It had been two days, but Irina was still in a coma, and the doctors were helpless. Meanwhile, Ivan told me that Raul had been released. Raul’s release was expected, but it happened sooner than expected. “Daniel, Ivan, you guys stay here and protect Irina. I’ll be back soon.”
I drove to Philadelphia alone and reached Raul’s home.
“Long time no see, Ravi. How’s my sister?”
“The police can’t do anything to you because they have bullshit rules. I’ve never been restricted by any rules when I do things.” I raised my gun and loaded it. “Relax, man. I promise Cecilia won’t be in any danger, but I can’t promise the same for her whore mother.”
Sara was brought out by two people. They held a gun to her head, but there was no fear in Sara’s eyes. Her eyes resembled Irina’s eyes.
I looked at Sara. She gave me a look, then blinked rhythmically. I realized immediately that it was Morse code.
I got her meaning. With one shot, I killed the man who had pointed a gun at her. The other man and Raul both pulled out their guns. Sara was quite skilled at combat. She kicked the gun away from the man beside her, and I subdued Raul easily.
“I told you, there are no rules when I do things. Today will be the day of your death.” I pulled the trigger. The bullet penetrated Raul’s temple and went out from the other side.
At the same time, I heard Sara say, “Stop.”
“You’re being too rash, Ravi,” Sara said as she looked at Raul’s fallen body.
“Are you expecting the law to punish him?” I helped her untie the ropes around her wrists.
“He should repent for everything he did.”
“He won’t repent. Oh, and congratulations, Sara. You made a huge contribution.” I looked at Sara. Her expression didn’t change. “You should congratulate me on becoming the heir of the Diaz Mafia,” She said calmly. “Congratulations, but I want to remind you not to interfere in any of the Rodriguez Mafia’s business.”
“Thank you for saving me today. Thank you for saving Cecilia.” “You can handle Raul’s body. Make up an adequate excuse. You can say I killed him. I have a way to escape punishment anyway.”
I turned and walked away. I was pretty certain Sara was an FBI agent. She was calm in the face of danger, and she was agile. She also knew Morse code. Unless she was professionally trained, there was no way a normal woman could do all of this. This also explained why she had insisted on returning to live with Irina’s father. It also explained why Raul had been brought to the police station as soon as Irina’s father passed away. However, I wasn’t certain if Sara had defected or not. After all, the Diaz Mafia had a lot of assets. Money was everything. If anyone wasn’t bribed by money, it must be because there wasn’t enough money on the line.
