- Chapter 6 - The Male Lead Is In Charge Of The Successor Chapter 6
(3rd Person POV)
Raven, who had a nosebleed, eventually gave up taking his remaining classes and ran away. Eisel has no way of knowing what happened when he went out, but since he didn’t come back until class started, she assumed he was probably crying somewhere.
‘Did I hit him too hard?’
While Eisel organized her thoughts as she unconsciously rubbed her forehead, some of the children gathered together, whispering as they glanced at Eisel.
‘Are they talking about me?’ Eisel, on the other hand, felt embarrassed as the children continued looking at her, and was thinking about leaving the room, the front door opened and a young man wearing a monocle appeared. As soon as he entered, he looked at the number of children inside the room and frowned.
The man opened the document in his hand, muttering softly “One person is missing.” and soon stood in the center of the room as he clicked his tongue.
“My name is Ezachiel, I’m a Basquiela scholar.”
At the introduction of the young scholar, everyone blinked their eyes as if saying that they didn’t know what’s happening. Eisel also had an indifferent expression on her face upon hearing the man’s name. Ezachiel took off his monocle and put them aside into his pocket, as he gazed around the room and stopped at Eisel.
At a glance, it was evident that she was different from the other children.
‘Is she a servant?’
Sometimes there were some aristocrats who brought their servants into their class as a habit. Ezachiel then immediately approached Eisel, thinking that bringing their maids at the start of the class would be a hindrance to their studies. Rancia immediately bowed her head with a reddened face. While Eisel was looking at him with a sullen face.
“I already told everyone in advance, but this always happens every year. You cannot bring your maid into the class.”
“Ha?……. What?”
“I know that it may be awkward and difficult to fit into a place like this, but it would be a hindrance not only for you but as well for the other students if you would be bringing your personal maid, so please, can someone send her back immediately?”
Rancia looked up at Ezachiel with a puzzled face at the sudden statement and lowered her eyes as she pondered, ‘servant? Is he talking about Eisel?’
“If you don’t want to send your maid back, then you don’t deserve to be in this class.”
“Ahm, about that……”
Frustrated by the fact that she was not qualified to attend their class, Rancia hurriedly opened her mouth with a baffled face in her defense, but she failed to utter the appropriate words. Rancia, who was hesitating, made eye contact with Eisel as if asking for help.
“Come on, let me…..”
“I’m not a servant.”
“What do you mean by that?”
Eisel then took out the official document that she had prepared just in case, and pointed to herself with her finger.
“It’s an official letter sent to me.”
“….. You mean your’re Eisel?”
Eisel nodded slowly, while Ezachiel on the other hand looked embarrassed about the confusion. The official document was genuine with a written name of Eisel on it. And then he alternately looked between the letter and Eisel.
‘Does that mean that she belongs to the Basquiela family?’
He didn’t put it into words, but that’s what his eyes are saying. Ezachiel continues to stare at the official letter for a moment before handing it back to her, as he composed himself and sighed inwardly.
“I was mistaken. Please forgive me for my rudeness.”
She thought that he would come out shamelessly, but surprisingly he admitted to his mistake and apologized sincerely, Eisel then smiled at him brightly. After that, Ezachiel returned to the center of the room with a puzzled face, as he checked the list again, and sigh deeply.
“…… Anyway, in this class, all of you would learn the basic skills that you should have as a noble. And this is the textbook that we would be using.”
[Memoirs of Lagostec]
“If you read this book until the next class, you will be able to take the exam right away.”
Most of them looked unhappy when they heard the word exam. Every young child didn’t like to take tests. Furthermore, such a heavy book at an age where they should be reading fairy tales at best. But, Eisel was thinking differently. As she looked at the book with a different reaction on her face.
‘Will they consider giving the books for free?’
‘Considering the thickness, it must be an expensive book.’
“The textbook can be bought anywhere, so you can buy it and bring it with you.”
However, contrary to Eisel’s thoughts, Ezachiel made a shocking statement. ‘Buy a book and bring it with you? Does that mean…… ‘ Eisel then started panicking inside, Ezachiel, who had finished delivering the class-related contents, started organizing his things.
Then, he gently folded his eyes and looked at Eisel, then looked at the other children again.
“That’s all for today. See you next week. and…..”
“Eisel!”
Ezachiel called her among the children who were preparing to leave, and then clapped his palms. Eisel, who was still shocked at the thought of buying the book, approached Ezachiel who held out the book with an indifferent face.
‘What’s this?’ Eisel then raised her head, as he shook the book with a dull face.
“Take it and follow me.”
Ezachiel roughly handed over the heavy book to Eisel, he then turned around and walked out first.
‘Ha? What?’ Eisel wrinkled her face, wondering if Ezachiel was like this to her, just because she was from a fallen aristocrat.
‘Is he going to ask me to become his errand girl or what?’ Eisel bit her lips and stared at Ezachiel’s back as he left the room.
“Should I hold it for you?”
Rancia, who came forward following Eisel, asked, but Eisel shook her head and followed Ezachiel with a stiff face.
“Come on, let’s go now.”
Ezachiel, who left the room first and headed towards his lab, stopped at a point where the other kids could not be seen and turned around. Eisel was chasing after him, almost wobbling, while holding the book.
Ezachiel raised his head and glanced at the other side of the hallway. Meanwhile, Eisel, who was following behind, looked at Ezachiel as if she was pissed.
‘Is she angry?’ Ezachiel looked at Eisel with a dull face, as he stretched out his fingers.
“Take it.”
‘Take What?’
Eisel’s expression, which had been frozen at the sudden words, was now full of wonder.
“Why?”
“I have one more so that’s fine.”
“What does having one more have to do with me taking this?”
That’s a logical question. In response to the needlessly cautious question, Ezachiel took out his monocle from his breast pocket, put them on, and raised the corners of his mouth with a very brazen face.
“It was old, and I was about to throw it away anyway. So you go and take it.”
Contrary to what Ezachiel said that it was old, the book is very neat. It was a book
That was read for quite some time, and in a very good condition, as it reveals the owner’s good personality.
“I don’t need it, so either you throw it or set it on fire, it’s up to you, Eisel.”
When Eisel didn’t say anything, Ezachiel added more to his words. Eisel looked alternately between Ezachiel and the book, then tilted her head with an innocent face.
“Did you purposely bring me here to give me this?”
“It’s not exactly like that.”
‘What did he mean that it’s not exactly like that, when there was no reason for him to call me here. Did he by any chance notice my worried heart when he mentioned buying the book?’ Eisel stared at Ezachiel, who had given him the book as a gift, and then smiled brightly.
“Thank you! Thank you so much! I will use it well!”
Ezachiel, then lowered his head and waved his hands as if he was lazy to respond to Eisel’s gratitude and left right away.
Eisel, then stared at Ezachiel’s back, turned around with a bright smile.
Rancia who was following her, alternately looked at the book in Eisel’s hand and Ezachiel and mumbled ‘Huh!’ while blinking her eyes.
“What happened, Eisel? Did he do something bad ….”
“No, it’s not like that.”
‘Rather, he did a good job.’ Eisel smiled while looking down at the large book in her hands with contented eyes, and opened the first page. As if reflecting the owner’s personality, the neat first page had only the name of the previous owner written on it.

[Ezachiel Burwigos Velen]
So his last name is Velen. Eisel smiled as she read Ezachiel’s full name.
“Burwigos Velen?”
Eisel, who was muttering his last name, felt strangely familiar with it. Velen?
“Velen… Velen……”
Eisel frowned and muttered his name for a long time, and then opened her eyes wide.
“Drink alcohol before fighting the storm that was caused by Archmage Velen with one-eyed glass….”
Eisel was shocked by the familiar name and quietly looked in the direction where Ezachiel had disappeared to.

(3rd Person POV)
Archmage Velen.
The name itself was common enough to be heard anywhere from everyone, and the title of the Archmage itself was also common. Therefore, it’s a name that could not be forgotten, but Eisel remembered his name for a different reason.
Archmage Velen with one-eyed glass. He was a sorcerer who performed magic on the sea and was always accompanied by storms and heavy rains. For the drunkards of the sea, he was a disaster. As a result, they drank before heading out to sea and sang to mean swallowing up the storms that was caused by Velen.
The lyrics that came out then were that sentence.
‘Is that man, Archmage Velen?’
If I could forcefully recall all of my past memories, I think they would roughly look the same. Even in the original novel, he was also wearing a monocle. He was in his mid to late 40’s as I remember of him, but he’s very young now. And he could be in his 40’s when he becomes an Archmage.
‘Does that mean that we are now 10 years before the end of the world? I couldn’t recall the exact story plot, but considering the time frame, it seemed right.’
‘It is important to take note as well, that Velen may have been a character from another novel. So, for me to make sure of my theory, I need to meet another character from that novel to confirm it……’
“Eisel?”
Eisel who had been quietly organizing her thoughts, a soft voice quietly penetrated her ears. As her thoughts dissipated, she heard some rattling movements from beside her.
Eisel blinked and lifted her head and met Rancia’s blue eyes, who were sitting on the other side, looking at her with a worried face.
“Uh, are you hurt by any chance? If you feel sick, we can go to the clinic over there and ask for some medicine for you.”
“…….”
‘Can’t she speak with only one dialect or even just the standard language?’ The dialect that keeps popping out in the middle of Rancia’s speech, sounded so cute that it kept attacking Eisel’s heart.
Eisel lowered the corners of her mouth, which were about to twitch, and shook her head.
