- Chapter 4 - The Male Lead’s Boyfriend is Obsessed With Me Chapter 4
“Cha Yeonbyeol.”
Baek Hawon is an obsessive business tycoon.
“You keep doing things you’ve never done,”
He’s obsessive,
“I think I know.”
A man who can tremble both power and money with one hand.
In his eyes, there were only two extreme consequences.
One case was for everyone, and the other was for Yugeom.
“But I also may not know.”
The moment I saw myself in his eyes, I felt that I was doomed.
My case can’t be Yugeom’s, so the consequence of this kind of look is obvious.
I couldn’t come to my senses from the chill that spread from the starting point of his cold fingers. Just as he was born to be, he had an aura that could suffocate people at once.
“The doctor, Boss.”
There was a welcoming sound that broke the suffocating silence, and Baek Hawon’s eyes finally fell away from me.
It was a fortunate liberation.
However, it was only a temporary measure.

“Should I tie my hair up or leave it untied?”
“Um, let it go.”
The party really took place merely a week later. For a week, I was locked up in my room searching for a way to live.
The woman who introduced herself as Jane went in and out of my room for a week to help choose dresses, necklaces, and things like that while I was busy finding the most suitable one for myself.
The things prepared in accordance with Cha Yeonbyeol’s taste were enough to hurt the eyes and glamorous beyond imagination.
“Let’s put on this dress.”
Grabbing the soft, flowing dress in my hand really made me realize that today was the party.
I’ll be out of The Hundred Thousand as soon as the party is over.
‘But how do I wear this?’
At first glance, I thought this was just a simple, basic design, but the design actually made it quite difficult to figure out where to put my legs in.
I roughly inserted myself into it and after putting it on, Jane rushed to tidy up my outfit.
“You’re so beautiful, Miss!”
I almost screamed at my reflection in the mirror.
Layers of pure white silk were sewn on top of each other to create a light yet meticulously designed dress that sparkled with gemstones embedded on it.
The parts that could have been left plain were more prominent thanks to the fresh flowers that adorned my waist and chest.
I thought the dress wouldn’t expose much, but that was only when I saw it from the front. The back was bare from my neck to the flower decorations around my waist, so it was a bit uncomfortable for me, who was not familiar with such exposure.
“Is there a problem?”
I was thinking about changing my dress immediately, but I shook my head when I remembered the other dress options.
Besides, my long, wavy hair hid most of it.
Overall, I, no, Cha Yeonbyeol, was dazzlingly beautiful today. The white, shiny accessories that seemed to match the dress shone in contrast with the black hair.
Knock, knock.
Following the knock, the door opened and a familiar face came in.
“The boss is looking for you.”
It seemed to be that Jiun came here just to deliver Hawon’s words.
“All right.”
I smiled brightly at Jiun, but there was no change on his face.
“I still have something to prepare for, are you coming with me?”
“I will be waiting outside.”
After Jiun went out, Jane sat me down in front of the mirror and started checking my hair ornaments.
“Everyone will be shocked to see you.”
Jane said, putting on a white lace ribbon studded with gemstones like the dress.
“Is that so?”
“You have a very different atmosphere than usual. It’s not only your style, but your behavior seems to have changed a lot as well.”
Jane’s red lips pulled up into a smile. I agreed with her.
Cha Yeonbyeol was far from innocent. Thirsty for affection, she always dressed splendidly and even more beyond that, just so everyone could look at her.
I was the exact opposite of that current style, so my appearance today was pretty different.
‘Because you keep doing things you’ve never done.’
Baek Hawon’s words were ingrained in my mind, but the more important thing was to change the original storyline.
If I live the way she normally does, I will be the first villainess to die during the first encounter between the main characters, so I can’t help but do what she hasn’t done.
“He is waiting at the office on the first floor.”
Jiun took the lead after I nodded slightly at his words. Following him, I took a slow, deep breath.
I can do it.
I can live.
As I went down the curved staircase surrounding the lobby of The Square, I saw a huge white bird-shaped sculpture in the center. It’s the symbol of The Hundred Thousand.
At the end of the hallway that contained the sculpture was a door studded with transparent jewels that made it dazzlingly bright from reflecting the sunlight the moment we walked in.
The men who were guarding the door opened it as soon as they saw me, rendering it unnecessary to knock.
“…”
Baek Hawon, who was looking at the documents while dressed in a suit, stopped to look at me. He observed me from up to down for a moment then got up from his chair and walked towards me.
Unlike usual, he looked like a prince in his shiny black suit with his hair neatly combed back, so I was dazed for a while.
It wasn’t until his hand reached out to me that I snapped out of it.
“Will you escort me now?”
“There will be a lot of eyes on you.”
You don’t care about your reputation?
Well, I guess the family situation really is currently quiet. Anyone could be an enemy on these grounds, and a small rumor could turn into a weakness.
That’s why Utopia foolishly decided to kidnap and took Cha Yeonbyeol as their hostage.
It was even because of the rumors that it was clear that Cha Yeonbyeol would have died because of Hawon’s actions. And he himself was destined to die lonely, coveting things beyond him.
So I decided to act differently.
“Thank you, Boss.”
Instead of calling him Oppa, I called him Boss.
“But there’s someone else who’s supposed to escort me.”
I’m not going to die.
I will survive without dying.
“Who?”
“Dho Siyoo has decided to do it. He also needed a partner.”
And the new way of living was going to be possible with Dho Siyoo.
It took a while to know him from his lack of information because he was a new face, but he wasn’t a villain in ‘The Boss’s Man,’ so that was enough of a condition to bear.
‘So you two can love each other on your own!’
Without changing his expression, Hawon made a cold face and seemed to speak with his eyes only.
The first meeting with Yugeom will go wrong, but if they’re truly meant to be, they’ll somehow meet each other and fall in love. I sincerely support their love.
Above all, I hope my bias, Yugeom, will be happy.
However, contrary to my expectation that he would pull his hand back, Hawon moved in a direction I didn’t think he would do.
“I don’t like it.”
He took a step closer and reached out his hand to take mine.
“Even if it’s like this, people who don’t know anything still think of you as my only sister.”
He laughed bitterly. This wasn’t a favor.
“Wouldn’t it be shameful for me to leave you in the hands of the heir of the Dho family?”
A force so hard that it wouldn’t be budged the slightest wrapped around my hand. But his whispering low voice had a stronger force than his hand.
As expected, my Plan B was to ‘Make Baek Hawon unable to live without me and make me die.’ It’s a good thing I didn’t go ahead with it.
There was nothing good about what I saw in his eyes that my thoughts about these two possibly having a better relationship than I expected because of how he offered to escort me instantly went down the drain.
It was just the messy mix of obsession and possessiveness with ‘The Hundred Thousand.’
I was one of ‘The Hundred Thousand.’
Nothing more, nothing less.
“Go down first. Jiun, stay, and you, guide the young lady.”
I clutched my dress and kept my mouth closed.
Right, first and foremost, I must get off this damned island. This isn’t something to be stubborn enough about to make our relationship worse here.
But I turned around and hardened my desires.
‘When I leave, I’ll certainly give a big fuck you!’

After Cha Yeonbyeol left, while wearing his necktie, Baek Hawon thought of her. Instead of the light that streamed in from the large window, shadows covered him.
He pulled at his necktie roughly.
Those eyes that looked up at him, the way she bit her lips as if it was a habit, and the warmth he felt from her hand.
The glittery decorations that adorned her white dress gave her the illusion of being the only one shining in the dark.
As if she would run away at any moment, wearing an expression that looked like she was saying that he wouldn’t know why she was doing what she did.
“You seem to care about the Miss.”
Baek Hawon stopped moving at Jiun’s words.
He couldn’t deny it. His literal nerves responded. Chasing after things that have changed, the things that have piled up have shaken.
He didn’t hate her at first.
‘Yeonbyeol, say hello.’
‘HELLO?!’ (Child’s voice.)
A woman brought in by the former head of The Hundred Thousand after his beloved wife died because she resembled her.
And her daughter.
Whenever he saw those two standing in the place of the only mother he loved in his life, he couldn’t control his rising emotions.
He wanted to erase everything that unfolded before his eyes. Even if he was punished by the heavens, even if he died.
He knew in his head that it wasn’t Cha Yeonbyeol’s fault that her biological mother brought her, as she was too young to know anything.
That’s why he tried to turn a blind eye.
But one day, when thunderstorms struck and a storm raged as if it engulfed the island.
The moment Cha Yeonbyeol grabbed him with her bloody hand, scratched by a rose’s thorn from his mother’s beloved garden that she randomly picked and trampled on.
“What can I do for you to not hate me?”
When he read the emotions in the gaze that looked up at him, his hatred became directed only at her.
Realizing the deep hatred that even he himself could not have fathomed, Baek Hawon chose to wipe away his emotions altogether.
Because he knew he held hundreds of lives in his hand. The feeling of uncertainty was no longer necessary.
Eight years have passed since and every time his level of hatred surged after seeing Cha Yeonbyeol, he would think of a path for ‘The Hundred Thousand’ as a whole.
‘I’ll say it just this once, so listen up, Boss.’
Something has become strange enough to overturn the deep emotions that lingered for eight years.
He rather wanted to make an expression that showed how strange he thought she had become.
He recalled his own face when he looked at the rose that was broken and scattered in his hands.
The woman who plucked a rose and scratched her hand.
‘Boss also wants me to disappear from your sight, right?’
With a face that he’s never seen before while spitting out words that weren’t even funny.
The way she looked at him has changed. A glance, gesture, and smile was enough to tell whether a person has changed completely.
As if she was someone else.
“I have to keep an eye on her.”
And all the hatred and bitter love turned upside down whilst unknown emotions rose.
Small but ambiguous emotions that couldn’t be called liking or being interested.
Those little emotions sprouted little changes in return.
“Place one person. A guy with good skills.”
“What order should I give?”
“Report everything you see and hear to me.”
“What about the Miss’s independence…”
Baek Hawon tried to sweep back his hair on habit, but stopped and scrunched his forehead.
Feeling frustrated, he simply loosened his necktie and spoke with a languid tone towards Jiun.
“That’s on hold for now.”
