Bang!
Fang Lin was blasted away by the impact at once. He tumbled onto the ground in an exceedingly embarrassing manner. Dizzy and confused, he almost fainted. “That was such a strange woman. Why can’t I enter when she could?” he grumbled under his breath as he tried to get up. He swept away the dust on his body but remained standing in the same spot.
After a while, Han Yinyue walked out of the door. The array did not affect her even in the slightest bit. Noticing Fang Lin’s presence, she furrowed her delicate brows ever so slightly and asked, “What are you doing here?”
Fang Lin had a rather embarrassed look on his face. He wondered to himself if she had seen him being blasted away earlier. It was fine if she had not, but if she had, it would be such a huge embarrassment. “Nothing much. I’m just looking around,” he replied vaguely.
Han Yinyue did not pay attention to him anymore and was about to leave with an alchemy prescription held in her hand.
Fang Lin had sharp eyesight, so he could see a portion of the contents written on the alchemy prescription. He could not stop the words from escaping his mouth. “Why are you taking an alchemy prescription for the Snow Frost Pill?”
Her footsteps came to a halt when she heard Fang Lin’s question. She looked at him in surprise and suspense. “How did you know that I’m holding the alchemy prescription for the Snow Frost Pill?”
Fang Lin pursed his lips and said, “I can see the names of a few medicinal herbs written on it. I figured that that’s the Snow Frost Pill.” He paused for a moment before he continued in a suspicious tone, “Who are you? The side hall is protected by an array. I can’t get in there, so how did you enter and leave at will? Are you a spy trying to steal our sect’s alchemy prescription?”
Han Yinyue was dumbstruck in bewilderment. This person actually regards me as a spy?
Upon noticing Han Yinyue’s surprise, Fang Lin was more convinced that his guess was right. He looked at her vigilantly at once and changed his stance as if he was confronting a formidable enemy.
“Tell me, why are you trying to steal the alchemy prescription? Otherwise, don’t blame me for informing the elder and capturing you!” Fang Lin declared.
“You…” Han Yinyue was offended. She had not explained herself, yet she was being accused of being a spy!
Meanwhile, the old Meng Wuyou appeared. However, his expression changed drastically when he noticed Han Yinyue’s presence. He then asked, “Fang Lin? What are you doing here?”
“Elder Meng Wuyou, you came just in time. I don’t know where this woman comes from, but she’s a spy. She’s here to steal our sect’s alchemy prescription, but I stopped her just in time. Capture her quickly, Elder!” said Fang Lin to him in a haste.
Instantly, Meng Wuyou’s expression turned as strange as Han Yinyue’s. Both of them stared at Fang Lin as if they were looking at an idiot.
Fang Lin was utterly confused by their reaction. What happened? Is Elder Meng ganging up with her? I’ve witnessed them together now. Are they going to kill me to prevent the divulgence of their secret?
At the thought of this, Fang Lin’s expression turned vigilant once again when he looked toward Meng Wuyou. At the same time, he began observing the terrain secretly in preparation to escape if the situation worsened.
Meng Wuyou let out a dry cough before he bowed respectfully in salutation toward Han Yinyue. Fang Lin widened his eyes in surprise when he witnessed this. This is bad. It seems like these two people are truly ganging up. Moreover, her status is higher than Old Man Meng’s!
“Fang Lin, she isn’t a spy. She’s the daughter of the sect master, Han Yinyue.” Meng Wuyou suppressed his strong impulse to laugh while he explained in a strange tone.
Fang Lin was stunned for a moment when he heard that. After that, his mouth gaped, revealing his shock. Meng Wuyou attempted to suppress his laughter with a lot of effort while Han Yinyue was so amused that she pressed her lips into a faint smile.
Fang Lin was dumbstruck. After messing around for a long while, he learned that this woman was actually the sect master’s daughter.
“Elder Meng, did you say that she is the sect master’s daughter?” asked Fang Lin shyly.
Meng Wuyou did not reply, but Han Yinyue chuckled softly. “You’re quite an interesting person. It’s really rare for someone not to know me in the Purple Glow Sect.”
Fang Lin said to himself in his heart. ‘I don’t just don’t know you. I don’t even know who the sect master is.” At once, embarrassment filled his face. He cupped his hands before his chest to salute her.”So, it turns out that you’re the sect master’s precious daughter, Senior Sister Disciple Han. I’m Junior Brother Disciple Fang Lin. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
A wisp of surprise flashed across Han Yinyue’s exquisite face when she learned about Fang Lin’s name. “You’re Fang Lin?”
Fang Lin nodded and said with a smile, “So, it turns out that you’ve heard of my name before, Senior Sister Disciple. It’s just a humble name unworthy of your mention.”
Meng Wuyou glared at Fang Lin. “Boy, can’t you be a little humbler? How can you still be so boisterous before Miss Han?”
With a smile, Han Yinyue said, “It’s true that I’ve heard of your name before. I seem to recall that the manifestation of the alchemy sect’s four saints from the other day was because of you. In fact, my father has even mentioned your name before.”
Fang Lin was unaffected by the statement, but Meng Wuyou was astounded. The fact that the Purple Glow Sect’s master had mentioned Fang Lin’s name signified that the kid had already made his way into the eyes of this important personage in the Purple Glow Sect.
Although Fang Lin had no idea who the Purple Glow Sect’s master was, Meng Wuyou knew that it was an honor to be mentioned even once by Han Luoyun.
Han Yinyue sized Fang Lin up with deep ponderation and puzzlement in her charming eyes. Astonishment was also apparent because she remembered her father’s words when he had told her that Fang Lin was an alchemy prodigy that had not been found in a thousand years.
At the time, Han Yinyue was exceedingly shocked by her father’s appraisal. It was more than just a simple appraisal; it was Han Luoyun’s approval and recognition.
Han Yinyue’s father was a man with impressive insight. For him to recognize someone with such certainty in the entire Purple Glow Sect was rare, including even the true lineage disciples in the martial arts sect.
“It’s no wonder that in a single glance at my alchemy prescription, you could tell what it was. It seems like you truly deserve your reputation of being an alchemy genius,” said Han Yinyue softly.
Fang Lin sniggered. “No, don’t say that. I’m only making a wild guess.”
Han Yinyue suddenly asked, “Since you’re an alchemy genius, I’d like to ask you something, Junior Brother Disciple Fang.”
“Ask away, Senior Sister Disciple Han. I’ll answer without reservation if I know the answer.”
The more Meng Wuyou looked at Fang Lin, the more he felt that he appeared to be concocting a plot against Han Yinyue. He became alert in his heart. If this boy is showing interest in Miss Han, it’s best that I stop the idea as soon as possible.
Han Yinyue pondered for a moment before saying, “If someone is poisoned with the Fire Toxin to the point that the person’s legs are gradually losing sensation while the skin is burning hot and icy cold at times, which type of elixir can be used to treat this condition?”
Meng Wuyou and Fang Lin considered Han Yinyue’s question deeply. Meng Wuyou frowned because the symptoms she described sounded rather severe and could not be caused by an ordinary Fire Toxin. He found that he could not figure out a suitable detoxification method at once.
On the other hand, Fang Lin deliberated for a moment before he came up with a solution. With his alchemy attainments in his past life, he could even save a dead man, let alone cure this Fire Toxin ailment.
At once, he said, “The gradual loss of sensation in the legs is caused by the exacerbation of one’s meridian injuries. The body feeling burning hot and icy cold at times is due to the conflict between the person’s inner strength and the Fire Toxin that results in the symptom of skin charring. If this person is unconscious, use the Heart-guarding Pill to protect the heart meridians, then use the Tri-pure Meridian-growing Pill to repair the meridians. Next, follow up with a cooling elixir such as the Snow Frost Pill or the Autumn Dew Pill to dispel the Fire Toxin. Lastly, consume some elixirs that help to stabilize the foundation and cultivate energy for the person to recuperate.”
