Mu Yan raised her charming brows ever so slightly and said, “Elder Yuan, do you wish to give a false account to the true facts?”
Yuan Sanping grunted once. Even though he was well aware that Yuan Bo was probably unreasonable in this matter if they scrutinized it carefully, he could not care about that anymore. As an elder, he could not allow himself to keep quiet when his son had been beaten up. I don’t care if I’m being reasonable or not. I can’t allow my son to be at a disadvantage anyhow!
“Father! My wrist is broken! My wrist is broken! Kill this little b*st*rd, quick!” Yuan Bo yelled in agony from the ground. His gaze was filled with hostility and coldness as he glared at Fang Lin.
Fang Lin suddenly scoffed once. He looked at Yuan Bo in disdain and said, “Your wrist isn’t broken. It’s just been dislocated. Stop making such a fuss.”
Stunned for a moment, Yuan Bo sensed his joint attentively for a moment and discovered that his wrist was not in as much pain as it would had it been fractured. Instead, he was merely incapable of moving it.
Yuan Sanping pulled a long face and walked to Yuan Bo’s side. He stretched out his hands and popped Yuan Bo’s socket back in its original position.
Yuan Bo rotated his wrist about a few times. He was relieved when he realized that it had returned to normal. However, he turned to Fang Lin with an exceedingly sinister gaze at the moment.
Fearlessly, Fang Lin sized Yuan Bo up and said with a smile, “Look at you and your body full of fat and flesh. Why are you still so useless? You were screaming like a weak maiden earlier.”
The crowd was smiling faintly but no one dared to laugh aloud.
Yuan Bo looked around with a sullen expression and noticed that the crowd seemed to be mocking him. He felt even more agitated in his heart. “Fang Lin, come and fight me if you have the balls. Let’s see if I can stop myself from breaking all the bones in your body this time.”
Fang Lin pursed his lips and said, “Forget about it. I’m afraid I might beat you up so hard that I’ll squeeze your fat into pork lard.”
“Hahahaha!” Upon listening to Fang Lin’s remarks, someone in the crowd could not refrain from laughing anymore. Soon afterward, a few people began to join in the hilarity of the situation as well.
The Yuan father and son were glaring at Fang Lin in rage. Fang Lin was being extremely sarcastic because he was practically calling Yuan Bo a pig.
“Fang Lin, you’re presumptuous!” Yuan Sanping accused at last.
Fang Lin looked at him, well aware that this man was Yuan Bo’s father, so he did not show much courtesy as he responded, “Elder Yuan, can you stop being so obvious about defending your son? The alchemy sect doesn’t belong to your Yuan clan, you see.”
Yuan Sanping grunted coldly and said in an offensive tone, “You hurt a peer disciple and that’s considered an extremely severe offense. Even if I were to kill you on the spot, no one can condemn me!”
Upon listening to his words, many people on the scene had a strange expression on their faces. Yuan Sanping was speaking as if he was a righteous man, yet he actually sounded harsh and tyrannical. Yuan Sanping was using his status as an elder to suppress Fang Lin.
If it was just an ordinary disciple, the person would certainly have felt fearful after listening to his comment. However, Fang Lin completely disregarded him.
Mu Yan said coldly, “Yuan Sanping, how dare you be so bold while I’m still here?”
As soon as those words were spoken, Yuan Sanping looked at Mu Yan in astonishment for he never expected her to actually take a stand for a no one like Fang Lin?
Yuan Sanping was not afraid of Mu Yan but Yuan Sanping could not afford to offend her due to her background. She was an exceedingly special person in the entire sect. Even though she was an elder, a majority of the elders showed her respect too. Other than the first elder and a few elders of exalted ranks, the rest of the elders dared not act too arrogantly when interacting with her.
Out of exasperation, Yuan Sanping had uttered those words that showed disrespect, infuriating Mu Yan.
“Elder Mu, you saw it yourself earlier. Fang Lin almost broke my son’s wrist. If I haven’t stopped him in time, perhaps my son’s life might have been in imminent danger too. Elder Mu, are you going to defend such an insolent disciple?” Yuan Sanping questioned in a cold voice.
Fang Lin smirked in contempt and said, “Elder Yuan, you seem to be very skilled in spinning lies, huh? Why don’t you ask these disciples here and verify what they actually saw?”
“I shall speak on behalf of what I’ve seen. The words of the others can’t be trusted without any reliable evidence,” said Yuan Sanping, wearing a cold expression.
Fang Lin rolled his eyes as he was rendered speechless. Yuan Sanping was an elder who was shameless and had no fear of being criticized by others, so what else could he do?
Yuan Bo was sneering as he stood behind Yuan Sanping’s back. He would never be at a disadvantage in his father’s presence. ‘Fang Lin, you occupied my alchemy room and made me embarrass before this crowd. You’re going to be in so much pain that you wished you were dead!’ he growled in his heart ferociously.
Mu Yan stood in front of Fang Lin with a cold expression. Her gaze was as bright as a torch when she stared straight at Yuan Sanping. “Fang Lin is innocent in this matter,” she said in an emotionless voice though her tone was unequivocally determined.
“No, Fang Lin is guilty!” Yuan Sanping did not have the slightest intention to back down.
Another few more elders turned up after hearing the news. After all, the two elders, Mu Yan and Yuan Sanping, were opposing one another which was not a trivial matter. The entire alchemy sect would be in chaos if they started a quarrel.
The few elders began to mediate in succession so that Mu Yan and Yuan Sanping could each take a step back and calm themselves down.
Not wanting to cause tension, Yuan Sanping wanted to seize the opportunity to back down from the situation, but Mu Yan did not have the slightest intention to do so. She refused to listen to anyone’s advice regardless. Yuan Sanping was in a very difficult position as well, so he could only continue to stand his ground.
After all, the situation had already developed to this extent. If he were to take the initiative to yield now, his reputation as an elder would be ruined.
The few elders were all talking at once, debating about whether the guilty person was Fang Lin or Yuan Bo.
Two elders considered Fang Lin guilty. After all, he had injured Yuan Bo. Anyone could see that.
The rest of the three elders considered Yuan Bo guilty. After all, many people had witnessed Yuan Bo make the first move. Even though he had been neutralized by Fang Lin, it was genuinely him who stirred up the incident first. Moreover, he had used a dagger on Fang Lin, stating his malicious intention.
The elders on both sides debated ceaselessly. They could not decide which side was more reasonable.
All of a sudden, Fang Lin spoke, “I have a question to ask.”
The few elders looked toward him. Some of them took him lightly, some frowned while some were curious.
“What is it?” said Mu Yan calmly.
Fang Lin pointed at Yuan Bo and said, “I’d like to ask if the alchemy room in this Yellow Building belongs to Yuan Bo.”
As soon as those words were spoken, Yuan Bo’s expression changed ever so slightly, but he acted as if he did not care. On the contrary, his father frowned ever so slightly as he sensed some ominous foreboding.
“No, of course. The alchemy room here belongs to any alchemy sect disciple,” said Mu Yan.
Fang Lin cracked into a smile and said, “Since the alchemy room belongs to any alchemy sect disciple, then why was Yuan Bo constantly kicking up a fuss outside when I was refining elixirs in the alchemy room? He declared that it was his alchemy room time and again. He also said that he’s the god and the rule in the alchemy sect. He said that no one is allowed to defy him. Tut tut tut. I was so scared after hearing that, so I daren’t come out naturally. I didn’t expect him to say that he wanted to kill me as soon as I left the room. Fortunately, my skills are rather good, so I managed to escape without a scratch.”
As soon as those words were spoken, everyone’s expressions changed drastically. On the other hand, the corners of Mu Yan’s lips curved into a faint smile.
