Wang Zhen dared not procrastinate at all. He cupped his hands together before his chest in salutation. “I’m Wang Zhen, a high-grade disciple from the martial arts sect. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Han.”
After some pondering, she said, “So, are you the Wang Zhen who has a notorious reputation in the martial arts sect?”
As soon as she spoke, Wang Zhen felt incredibly embarrassed. He wished that he could find a crevice in the ground that he could burrow in.
On the other hand, Fang Lin looked curious. He truly did not expect Wang Zhen to be so infamous person that even Miss Han was aware of him. However, it seemed like his reputation was not very honorable since she actually described it as notorious.
Wang Zhen flushed scarlet. He was lost for words and his face was burning hot as if he was having a fever.
Meanwhile, Han Yinyue’s expression grew even sharper after realizing that it was Wang Zhen. There was even a wisp of disgust in her eyes. “Why are you looking for Fang Lin?” she asked coldly.
Wang Zhen muttered something vague but did not manage to explain himself. Fang Lin did not bother to expose him either as he just stood smilingly on the side.
However, Han Yinyue was an extremely intelligent woman. She considered it for a short while and associated all sorts of rumors about Wang Zhen in the past to come up with a speculative conclusion. Instantly, her expression turned even harder.
“I have something to discuss with Fang Lin. You should leave,” she ordered with a cold expression.
Wang Zhen dared not lingered anymore, so he quickly left in quick strides.
“Frankly, Wang Zhen was here to bully me. Fortunately, you got here just in time, Miss Han. Otherwise, I wonder how he would’ve bullied me,” said Fang Lin with a light smile.
Han Yinyue replied, “Even if I haven’t gotten here in time, you wouldn’t have been bullied by him either. I’ve heard quite a lot about you too. It seems like those who tried to bully you always end up badly.”
Fang Lin rubbed his nose shyly because he did not expect Han Yinyue to know about all his trifle doings. However, it felt rather normal to him too. After all, she was the older daughter of the sect master. How could he hide anything that happened in the Purple Glow Sect from her?
“Anyway, there’s no need to address me as Miss Han. You can call me Senior Sister Disciple Han,” said Han Yinyue.
“Yes, Senior Sister Disciple Han.”
Han Yinyue pointed to Fang Lin’s courtyard and said amusedly, “Aren’t you going to invite me in?”
“Please come in, Senior Sister Disciple Han!” Fang Lin said while making an invitational gesture.
With a smile, Han Yinyue walked into the courtyard. Her charming eyes looked around and she found that numerous medicinal herbs were planted in the courtyard. The rows of plants were arranged neatly and the air was thick with the herbal scent.
“It seems like you have spent quite a lot of effort and energy in your courtyard, huh, Junior Brother Disciple Fang?”
Fang Lin replied humbly, “I fiddle with them casually at times. Please don’t laugh at me, Senior Sister Disciple Han.”
Han Yinyue shook her head as she sized up his medicinal herb garden in all apparent seriousness. Only after close inspection, could she tell what was the special part of this medicinal herb garden.
She discovered that the medicinal herbs planted in this garden were all flourishing with vitality. After she checked the soil on the ground, she realized that it was fresh, yet the medicinal herbs were growing lushly. It was apparent that something was unusual.
‘The Withered Tree Revived in the Spring Embodiment lives up to its reputation as expected!’ exclaimed Han Yinyue in her heart enviously.
Born with inherent crippled meridians, her meridians were especially weak and fragile. Even if she was gifted with an extraordinary natural talent, her weak meridians still would not withstand the inner strength.
If she were to cultivate by force, the surge of inner strength would tear up her meridians and result in severe consequences. She could easily lose her life. As a result, Han Yinyue yearned to cultivate. On the other hand, she envied a person that nature richly endowed with physical qualities, just like Fang Lin.
Both of them made their way to the stone table in the center of the courtyard and took a seat. Fang Lin steeped a pot of medicinal tea that he made for Han Yinyue.
The second Han Yinyue tasted a sip, the medicinal fragrance filled her sinuses. It tasted rather bitter but had a sweet aftertaste that refreshed her.
“It is so fragrant!” Han Yinyue could not refrain herself from exclaiming.
Fang Lin smiled. The medicinal tea appeared ordinary, but it was actually one of his favorite subjects to study in his past life. Had it not been for his lack of quality medicinal herbs, he was even capable of making Longevity Tea that was known to extend one’s lifespan.
“Senior Sister Disciple Han, I guess you’re here more than just to thank me, aren’t you?”
Han Yinyue placed her teacup down upon hearing that. She pondered for a moment before she asked solemnly, “Is it true that you’ve amended the alchemy prescriptions in the Yellow Building?”
Fang Lin was stunned for a moment. However, he did not try to hide the truth from her and nodded. Because of her status, the alchemy sect’s hidden secrets could not be concealed from her, so she would surely be aware of that incident.
Han Yinyue appeared even more surprised when he admitted the truth. As an alchemist too, even though she did not have the inner strength and almost never refined any elixirs, she was well aware of how shocking it was for a person to amend alchemy prescriptions.
These alchemy prescriptions in the alchemy sect had been passed down for generations by the sect predecessors. Having endured countless calamities of time, it was almost impossible for them to be wrong. However, Fang Lin managed to amend 17 prescriptions such that they were flawless. This was simply unimaginable.
When Han Yinyue learned about this, her first instinct was to doubt it. However, she was silent after reading those 17 improved alchemy prescriptions with her own eyes. Despite her skepticism, she had no choice but to admit that Fang Lin was genuinely an extreme genius that was unprecedented in history. He could leave his fine reputation to the future of the alchemy sect just with his act of improving the alchemy prescriptions.
“Junior Brother Disciple Fang, you are aware of the situation with my sister, aren’t you?”
Fang Lin nodded, and the playful expression on his face vanished as he became serious.
The situation with the two daughters of the Han clan was genuinely worthy of one’s sympathy. Even for someone as carefree as Fang Lin, he heaved a sigh in his heart for the two Han daughters.
“My sister is different. She is naturally gifted and she cultivates painstakingly as well. Sadly, she’s blind, and I want to help her,” Han Yinyue said quietly.
Fang Lin was silent as he roughly figured out Han Yinyue’s purpose of going there by now. She was there for her sister, Han Xiaoxing.
“Why have you come to me? There are so many elders in the alchemy sect. Is there nothing they can do?” he asked.
She shook her head and said, “My father has already searched through the entire country. Even the Medicine God Sect is incapable of doing anything to treat Xiaoxing’s eyes.”
“Since that’s the case, why do you look for me, Senior Sister Disciple Han? I’m merely a disciple,” Fang Lin spoke with a frown.
Han Yinyue looked straight into his eyes and said, “I can feel that you’re different. You’re capable of improving our sect’s alchemy prescriptions and you’ve received guidance from an alchemy master. Perhaps, you can figure out a way to treat my sister’s eyes.”
