- Chapter 3 - The Saint’s Tyrant Rehabilitation Method Chapter 3
2. Nighttime crisis, my knight?
Having succeeded in firmly resisting my habitual urge to sleep, I only left my bed during the time everyone was asleep. I looked around.
I hadn’t planned to walk out of here on foot.
The place I resided in was none other than the temple, in addition to my room being on a high floor. Like in the movies, there may be a scene such as ripping the curtains to create a strong rope for an escape method.
It was unrealistic how the temple knights were standing on guard with their eyes wide open, and how no one could even sense their presence. Wouldn’t it be rather easy to become a class 007 undercover agent?
So, of course I took on a different approach. A simple, easier way. Teleportation.
Space teleportation was the first ability I could ever use. At first, I was in disbelief the moment I found out I could actually activate this ability; the ability which I had imagined and dreamed of.
Was it now possible for me to teleport space and fall into a completely different area?
While pondering the answer to my question, I proceeded to learn space teleportation as of the day I observed a few priests using the ability.
Space teleportation required the caster to have a high level of sacred magic and consumed a substantial amount of sacred power.
By the age of seven, the time I first succeeded in moving close range, I was so happy that I ran around.
Now I’m creating trouble for the priests who taught me!
Arianne was able to track me down earlier, not because of space teleportation, but because I used my divine power in order to capture the kid.
Space teleportation was a sacred magic in which I could use with confidence and without being detected!
It’s true that I sometimes sneaked out, but I’ve never done so late at night. If I just leave and come back in time, I won’t be caught, right?
As I mumbled while calculating the outcome, I swiftly changed into the pre-hidden outfit under my bed.
All right, I’m ready. I’m firmly committed to this. Is this how one feels about their first run away? Excitement, feelings of guilt and tension which cause the heart to beat frantically. A saint runs away like a delinquent teenager!
However―
“I have a job I need to complete.”
I focused my mind and instantly teleported space. The view changed as different landscapes covered my view. The texture under my feet also differed from before.
Dark night, unfamiliar space. However, I was positive I knew of my current location.
The alleyway. The same spot where Arianne had apprehended me, and the area where the boy caused me to fall on my butt twice.
The reason is obvious, isn’t it? I came here looking for him. I was going to find that rude guy wherever he was and give him a good scolding.
Not because I’m saint, but that ten-year-old vengeance of mine was burning deep within me.
I grinded my teeth.
“Just wait until I catch you.”
The more I thought about it, the more angry I became. Well, I’m not angry. I’m also kind of curious about him.
I smoothed my invisible antennae in the air. I had a hunch. There’s something about him.
After a while, I commanded the surrounding sanctity as I did divine power. Lead me to where the child is.
It was a more precise way than using Holy Magic myself to explore the Holy Land.
“Maybe he’s already gone.”
As soon as I murmured skeptically, a dazzling white light grew in front of my eyes, as if the moonlight was falling.
The endlessly shining light soon opened a narrow path in front of me. I lightly fell from the ground like a butterfly and followed the path.
The light led to flat ground which made it easier for me to keep up. I sometimes had to cross over walls, but this was easy.
In the Holy Land, especially on a moonlit night like this, I possessed a special ability as a Saint of the Moon God. Like the gravity of the moon, I’d be able to move as lightly and gently like a butterfly.
As the path of light faded, I spotted the boy. The location was a narrow alley similar to where I first arrived.
“Oh?”
I covered my mouth. The child was lying on the floor. Was he pretending to be an aristocratic noble, then becoming homeless? Maybe he already received his punishment!
As I observed him from a far distance while rolling my head leisurely, I sensed something was unusual.
The child looked troubled. The way his arms and legs stretched out in all directions. It seemed like someone knocked him down rather than him lying on the ground voluntarily.
There was also something standing in front of him from a distance. A strange, creepy black shadow.
The moment I witnessed the glistening of its blue eyes, I immediately struck the ground.
It flew, narrowed the distance in an instant and landed in front of him. I froze right away, my courage rock bottom.
“Th, this, what is this…”
Something, seemingly similar to a human. He stood with his feet on the ground, and his features were human.
However, its eyes were torn vertically like an animal, its fangs were flashing, and the nails which were as long as rakes did not resemble a human being.
It was a monster. Mommy! I knew they existed, but it was the first time I saw one in real life!
A hideous monster which would appear in a movie. Just looking at it made my legs shake.
The monster, which seemed like it would leave, noticed me and stopped, seeming a bit reluctant. Yeah, this is the temple and I’m a saint. So, what kind of monster is this in the Holy Land?
I activated my sacred power and asked where the shallow groan resounded.
“Are you all right?”
“Saint?”
His voice didn’t sound very good. He seemed to be trying to lift himself up.
However, the moment he moved against the floor, I heard a thud.
The monster’s pupils, stimulated by the sound, narrowed. It was an attack signal.
Right now, the problem wasn’t revolving around myself being caught while outside the temple. I held the boy in my arms and confirmed my decision.
When I overlapped the injured body, the boy grimaced painfully.
Kwagwang! I whispered as soon as I heard the sound of the barrier being attacked.
“Be patient.”
Then I turned around. The creature was showing his teeth ferociously and attacking the barrier.
He struck it with his sharp fingernails. Pang, pang! I was overwhelmed at the moment.
“Oh my God.”
My heart pounded as the unrealistic fear swept through me. I cried out for God deep inside my heart.
What should I do? There was the divine magic accustomed to burning impure souls. But I never learned the technique. There’s no way one would ever use that in the Holy Land!
As it is, such a monster could not enter the Holy Land, as his whole body would have burned while in the divine barrier.
Standing so fine now was evidence that the monster was strong enough to withstand the barriers.
One of the guys patrolling the neighborhood should have seen this already, but they’re all on duty!
The monster’s body flew sideways the moment I criticized the knights internally. What?
Puck! The monster flew into the wall of the building.
The vivid silver light fluttered like a fantasy in front of me, as if it were covering the night view. It was as beautiful as the moonlight. I knew for sure who the owner of this hair was.
“Ca, Camael?”
He was like an angel of death that ascended from the moon.
Regardless of my call, Camael completed his job. He quickly approached the wriggling monster and struck him with a blow.
―Kwagak!
“Kkyak!”
Y, you cut its throat! The sword was extremely sharp as it moved at a rapid pace, it seemed invisible.
Not all holy knights in the Holy Land could show such a sword. Only one person―
Camael, the Holy Land’s first holy knight, walked towards me and knelt down.
“I greet the Holy Lady.”
As soon as his words fell, the divine power surrounding his body lifted by itself. Not only myself, but also the sacred power within me was fully aware of his existence.
As I faced his vivid violet-colored eyes, my tension slowly eased.
I spoke to him like a child.
“Camael, thank you for coming. I was really scared.”
At times like this, I’m willing to turn ten.
“That wouldn’t have been the case if you hadn’t walked around during the night like this.”
That’s right. I stuck out my lips.
“I’m sorry.”
Camael did not have that type of friendly, soothing personality. Was it because he was cold-hearted? Maybe it’s because he’s not human.
Camael is a fairy. A member of the fairy tribe who had been rescued by the hands of Wolshin the moment evil energy flooded the earth.
Camael, a Holy Knight under the command of Wolshin.
He was so strong, it could not be said there was any person stronger than him within the country’s knights.
He, who had lived longer than a human life, was extremely sharp and terribly fast.
Above all, Camael is incredibly beautiful. He is truly an improbable beauty.
Although his gender is male, the normal image according to his characteristics would be a muscular and fit man. However, Camael did not match that image in the least.
He possessed such a vague face that one wouldn’t know whether he is a woman or a man, in addition to him having a both slim and slender body, matching that of a model’s. His skin is transparent and clear, free of impurities, and his face is delicate and elegant. Naturally, when I first saw him, my jaw dropped.
I lost! I’m completely defeated!
I have gotten used to his appearance, but it was my first time witnessing him under a moonlit night like this.
His hair was shining like silver lining, and his subtle purple eyes were mystical enough to remind one of his identity again.
…Perhaps the reason why God saved him was due to his dazzling appearance, which attracted a flock of believers like bees. I often have such impure thoughts.
However, he also had one flaw. That expressionless face. It must be pretty when he smiles, but unfortunately I’ve never seen him tear down his dull expression.
He rarely revealed his feelings to the point that I thought he was a fairy made of glass. Perhaps his emotions and feelings are so thin. Because he’s a fairy! I don’t know what type of fairy he is.
Even a little fairy like Tinkerbell might be cute, but a fairy knight who was detached from everything in the world, referred to as the ‘Artist of the Moon,’ was something I really favored. In other words, I really like him.
I grinned and opened my arms, not daunted by his cold words. He held me in his arms and patted me on the back, as he always did since my childhood.
It held such a magical effect, I was immediately reassured by his obligatory hand gesture.
I soon remembered someone I had forgotten while in his arms. Because he painfully groaned while trying to lift himself up.
“Ugh.”
“Who is this?”
In an instant, Camael separated from me and brought his hand to the sword. His movements were filled with wariness.
I approached the boy quickly and helped him. He breathed, in a daze, as if his wounds had been accidentally touched.
Cold sweat formed on his forehead. You must be very sick. I let go of my many grudges and supported him with my energy. No, I tried to.
