Chapter 28: Contract’s Content Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
There were about 100 plus contract rules. Anita did not look at all of them carefully. She flipped through them briefly and handed them to Owen. “I have no objections,” Anita said succinctly. After all, Anita would not pay for this deal, so she didn’t need to look at the contents of the contract.
But Owen didn’t think so. Owen felt that it was still necessary for Anita to understand the contents of the contractual marriage, so he glanced at his secretary, Bruce.
Browns took two steps forward and leaned closer to Anita. He said, “Hello, Miss Anita. I’m President Owen’s secretary. You can call me Bruce.”
“Hi, I’m Anita,” Anita said with a smile.
It was only when Bruce got closer that he realized that the lady in front of him actually looked so similar to Miss Mia. Even if one said that they were sisters, people would believe it. He then looked at the CEO secretly and thought, no wonder he wanted to enter a contractual marriage!
Seeing Bruce hesitate to speak and while he stared at Anita, Owen reached out and nudged Bruce slightly.
Bruce, who had come back to his senses, quickly pulled up the contract details and said, “Miss Anita, although you trust President Owen very much, there are some details that I have to tell you.”
Anita said nothing but nodded.
“The first condition of the marriage contract is notarization of prenup assets. The second condition is to marry as soon as possible and buy your house as a gift to your parents. This is also what you mentioned two days ago.” After saying these two words, Bruce paused and looked at Anita.
“Yes.” Anita didn’t say much. After all, this was something that had been said two days ago.
“And the CEO will give you a million dollars in pocket money every year. Mr. Owen just requires you to play the role of a good daughter-in-law and wife in front of Mr. Owen’s parents,” Bruce said and looked at Anita.
After a pause, he said, “What you have to pay attention to is that you must not expose yourself.”
Anita smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I can do that.”
“That’s good. Don’t worry. You can do research in peace after marriage. Mr. Owen won’t interfere with your life,” Bruce said in a businesslike tone.
“Um, okay, thanks,” Anita said. In fact, Anita had thought of that. She believed Owen could understand. After all, both of them were people who loved their majors very much.
“Cough, cough.” Bruce coughed twice in embarrassment and said, “Yes, there’s no need to have sex after marriage.”
It was fine if Bruce did not cough, but once he coughed, the two of them noticed the contents of the contract.
This direct mention reminded Anita of that night. She hadn’t thought much about it before, but now that he mentioned it so blatantly, she immediately felt a little awkward.
Owen also felt a little awkward. He looked at Bruce and said, “There’s no need to say this.”
“Yes, CEO,” Bruce said while pretending not to notice their awkwardness.
“Also, after the marriage, both parties will not interfere in each other’s love lives. If one party encounters true love, the contract can be automatically terminated. The most important thing is this.” Bruce finally finished speaking and looked at Anita before saying, “Miss Anita, do you see anything else you need to add?”
Anita smiled and said, “No, it’s perfect.”
“Okay, since there’s nothing else, please sign this contract.” Bruce handed the contract to Anita.
Anita reached out to take the contract and saw that Owen had already signed his name. His bold handwriting was very striking, and there seemed to be no point in regretting it at this time, so she picked up the pen and signed her name without hesitation.
“Alright, that’s enough. Then I wish the two of you the best.” After saying that, Bruce secretly looked at the CEO’s expression. It did not seem like he was happy.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll go back first. There’s an experiment tonight.” After saying that, Anita stood up and left.
Owen had the urge to stop Anita, but he looked at Bruce, who had been smiling beside him. Although he had just stood up and was about to walk away, he stopped again. “Are you happy, Bruce?”
Bruce quickly suppressed the smile on his face and shook his head.
“Come on, let’s go back to the office,” Owen said.
“Go back? President, aren’t you going to see Miss Anita now?” Bruce asked in confusion.
“Did I say I was going?” Owen said and headed for the parking lot.
Bruce looked at the president’s back and thought about how he made the girl angry without even knowing it.
He had been with President Owen for so many years, so he knew what was on the CEO’s mind. He clearly wanted to chase after him but was too shy to do so.
However, Miss Mia had already been dead for so long. Now that he saw someone who looked so similar to her, Bruce couldn’t help but feel a little worried.
