Chapter 17: I’m Very Strong
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
The snake demon was naturally going to enjoy a gem like Wen Ran all by itself. Shen Wu, on the other hand, was given to its group of starving snake descendants.
No one would have dared to believe that Shen Wu would be unscathed after being attacked by such a large group of black snakes.
“I just walked out,” Shen Wu said indifferently.
“Impossible!”
“What do you mean impossible? Can’t I just kill them all and walk out?”
The snake demon was furious upon hearing that. “You’re asking to be killed!”
Shen Wu grabbed Wen Ran’s collar and dodged the sudden strike from the snake’s tail. A crack had already appeared on the spot where they were standing earlier.
He asked Wen Ran, “Were you actually deceived by this ugly thing after he took on my appearance?”
He seemed to be asking her, ‘How stupid can you be to be fooled by such an ugly thing?’
Wen Ran protested, “I wasn’t fooled by it!”
“You’re not as dumb as I thought then.”
Wen Ran wanted to kick him but decided to hold it in after she recalled how she still had to rely on him to survive!
This snake demon’s ability to transform was truly top-notch, else it would not have caused so much trouble for so many people in the past. It could transform into anyone to trick its targets, and those with a weak heart would only be transformed into a slave of desire.
The snake demon was incredibly angry when they spoke with such disregard for its presence. With reddened eyes and an open mouth, its huge body began slithering around and occupying almost two-thirds of the open space. Its aura alone was extremely terrifying.
Shen Wu held onto Wen Ran’s collar and dodged a few attacks in succession, causing the giant snake to slam into the stone wall from time to time and causing holes in it.
Wen Ran felt dizzy after being carried around by Shen Wu. She endured the discomfort and said, “I can try to draw another teleportation formation.”
“You plan to escape?” Shen Wu asked curiously.
“WE have to escape!” Wen Ran’s face was pale and her voice was weak. “We’re no match for this great demon now that you don’t have your sword and I’m injured. Our Mansion Master used all sorts of methods in the past to subdue this great demon. I know that you’re very strong, but this is the kind of situation where we have to run!”
Shen Wu suddenly stopped moving and stared at her strangely for some time.
Wen Ran did not know what was up with him. When she saw that the giant snake was swinging toward them with immense force, she cried out in shock, “Shen Wu!”
The young man raised his hand casually and an air shield appeared in the air, blocking the snake’s attack with ease.
Wen Ran was stunned, as was the snake demon. Its scarlet eyes stared at Shen Wu and it realized that the white-clad young man’s aura remained calm even when facing its attacks. His approach to the situation could more accurately be described as enjoying a game, rather than escaping for his life.
“I’m actually very strong,” he said faintly as he blinked his limpid eyes.
Wen Ran could not help but think of those kindergarten children she saw in her previous life. Shen Wu had the same eager expression of those children when they told the teacher that they had eaten two bowls of rice that day.
“Do you remember what you said earlier?” he asked again.
“I said plenty of stuff. Which one are you referring to?”
“The one where you said that I love you deeply.”
Wen Ran was overcome with shame and her pale face turned red. “What are you trying to say?”
“Do you still remember the last part of the sentence I said when I was deeply in love with you?”
His expression was too serious, and he didn’t seem to be making fun of her.
“If it lays a hand on me, you’ll slice it into eight pieces, burn its bones, and scatter its ashes…” Wen Ran thought for a moment before replying awkwardly.
“Perfect,” he said.
‘What’s so perfect about it?’ Wen Ran wondered.
Shen Wu laughed. “I’ll slice it into eight pieces, burn its bones, and scatter its ashes.”
He walked slowly out of the air shield’s protection. His body was thin and frail compared to the giant snake that was coiled up to strike with its head nearly touching the stone wall above
Just as Wen Ran was about to speak, she saw a sharp saber appear out of nowhere from his hand.
It was an extremely black straight saber that glimmered coldly under the candlelight. The blade was straight, long, narrow, upright, and undecorated. It did not match his white clothes at all, and the jarring contrast of black and white made for a unique sight.
The young man raised his saber and pointed it at the giant snake. He looked into the snake’s scarlet eyes and laughed, “You look stronger than the other demons. I hope you can hold on for a little longer so that I can have fun.”
“How arrogant!” The scales all over the snake demon’s body seemed to have stood on end. It raised its head to the sky and let out a long howl. Two horns actually appeared on its head, and four legs grew out of its long body. No one had expected the snake demon to have the inclination of transforming into a Flood Dragon!
Wen Ran, who was watching from the side, started to panic. Not once had she encountered such a great demon in all her life!
The corners of Shen Wu’s lips curled into a smile and a satisfied expression appeared on his picturesque brows. When the great demon arched down, he tapped the tip of his foot slightly and flew up.
As soon as Wen Ran saw Shen Wu rush up, she realized that something was gravely wrong.
Each and every one of Shen Wu’s moves were sharp and overbearing, and every single one of them carried a single purpose—to charge recklessly forward and kill. He usually spent little effort to dodge, yet his reckless and unorthodox style could only force his opponent to retreat, defend, and be unable to use a single killing move.
Wen Ran had learned swordsmanship before as well. Although the usage of a saber and a sword was different, she still had some knowledge of the moves. However, she could not see what move Shen Wu had used, because he was attacking at his own discretion and without any textbook moves, making it impossible for anyone to guess what his next move would be.
He was a lunatic!
The snake demon had lived for hundreds of years, but this was the first time it had been suppressed by a young man’s aura. The young man’s body was agile even when it was defending itself, and it could easily dodge its tail. He hopped a couple of times across its huge body and was already on top of its head in the blink of an eye.
The snake demon watched as Shen Wu approached closer and closer, and it could even see the young man’s smile unfold as he came along with his saber.
The next moment, the pointed end was pierced into the giant snake’s eye.
With a hiss, the snake demon frantically twisted his body and threw Shen Wu off his head. However, Shen Wu’s figure was as graceful as an apparition, and he gently tapped the tip of his feet on the stone wall before launching himself forward with the saber once more. The snake demon’s other eye was thus blinded.
Blood splattered on Shen Wu’s body, leaving behind more stains on his already-bloodstained white clothes.
The blood-red color seemed to have stimulated him even more, and the innocent smile on Shen Wu’s face was gradually replaced by excitement. There was a glint in his dark expression and anyone who saw him could feel that he was savoring a rare moment of joy.
