Chapter 45: The Organization’s Skill Tree
In the towering heights of Wangshan, above the clouds, sat a few buildings. In such a mythical environment, these ordinary-looking buildings exuded a marvellous aura as well.
In the avenue formed by the buildings stood a person. He was Chu You.
The glow between Chu You’s brows made him one with the environment, as though he was a wizard who had existed from the beginning of time.
Chu You looked at the organization interface. The main buildings where the organization core resided were no longer greyed out, and began to glow. This meant the organization was ready to be upgraded.
In the silence, Chu You lightly said, “Level Two organization, upgrade!”
There was a huge ruby embedded in the middle of the door to the main building. At this time, Chu You had paid the resources required for the upgrade. The ruby shined vividly and delivered a wave of power that spread out in all directions.
The core building immediately expanded. The exterior of the building changed in its presence, as the building transformed to become more majestic.
System: Level 2 organization upgrade successful, organization area increased by a multiple of three.
From an aerial map, Chu You saw that his own organization area became much bigger, as the area marked with a blue overlay expanded by several degrees. The increased area was equivalent to about two football fields, and was available for the construction of organization buildings.
Upgrading the organization also unlocked more buildings, while existing buildings could be upgraded.
Chu You said lightly, “Build organization skill tree!”
In the clearing beside Chu You, a magical tree broke past the soil and grew upwards rapidly. Before long, it became taller than Chu You, with no sign of stopping.
Chu You did not so much as glance at it, before continuing, “Build trade exchange!”
By becoming a common entity with the official trade exchange of Dayan Country, organization players would no longer need to travel to other territories to browse the items in the trade exchanges and make trades. The trade exchange could exist as an individual entity as well.
“Build organization mission issuing agency!”
Here, organization players could accept organization missions. As the building was upgraded, the number of missions increased too, along with the mission rewards.
Chu You had already upgraded all of his existing buildings, so there were no other buildings to upgrade.
Then, Chu You hollered, “Upgrade organization to Level 3!”
The core organization building expanded once again, while the organization area expanded.
At this time, the organization area had surpassed the cliff and expanded outwards. Chu You glanced in a random direction and saw a floating rock formation among the clouds.
In the vicinity of Wangshan’s peak, there were other such formations as well.
Chu You continued building and unlocking organization buildings, as he exhausted his strategic resources.
“Build organization treasury!”
As Chu You said this, an exquisite wooden bridge suddenly uprooted itself from the ground and linked towards a floating rock formation in the air. After connecting the peak and the rock formation, a building suddenly raised upwards on the barren rock formation. This building was a magnificent palace which exuded a godly aura. It would be hard for one to take his eyes off it.
“Build organization horse racecourse.”
Another wooden bridge connected to a separate rock formation, on which the horse racecourse appeared. Organization players could spend coins here to purchase organization racehorses. As the levels of the buildings increased, the movement speed of the racehorses increased as well.
Chu You upgraded all of the upgradable buildings once again.
“Level four organization, upgrade!”
Chu You’s expression was steely and determined.
“Build organization rank and equipment redemption office.”
Through missions, players could accumulate accomplishments, which could be exchanged for equipment and ranks through the redemption office.
“Build organization protector.”
An ominous-looking nest appeared on a floating rock formation. The nest incubated creatures that would specifically protect the organization area against foreign intruders. They could not be used to attack other territories and could only remain within the organization area. The abilities of these creatures would depend on the level of defensive creatures that Chu You chose to incubate.
“Build organization star platform!”
This building served to attract all sorts of mysterious NPC merchants to come here. When merchants such as “Dark Clouds Trading Corp” stopped in the organization area, organization players, upon discovering these merchants, could purchase special items from them.
Chu You once again upgraded all upgradeable buildings, effectively completing the Level 5 organization.
“Build organization ally transfer platform.”
After forming alliances, organizations could send aid and personnel to other organizations under attack through the ally transfer platform. As this building levelled up, the number of players that the organization could send would increase as well. Simply put, Chu You’s transfer platform would be able to transfer a maximum of 20 organization players, while his Level 5 organization would be able to accommodate a maximum of 200 players.
This meant that in Chu You’s organization territory, only 200 players could come over and help. No matter how many organization alliances Chu You made, he would be limited to 200 players. Once this limit was broken, the transfer platform would be rendered inoperable.
Chu You once again upgraded all upgradeable buildings, before realizing that he could not upgrade his organization to Level 6. This was because a mission had to be completed before upgrading to Level 6 – he had to destroy 10 player organizations. Of course, the upgrade would still require strategic resources and coins.
The upgrade from Level 5 to Level 6 was an obstacle that many organizations faced. This was also the root cause of the “Dark Chaos.”
At the start, not just in the land of Huaxia but rather the entire region, organizations were able to coexist harmoniously. Players would build up their own homes with care – even if disputes did occur, they were no more than small skirmishes.
However, this harmony in Heaven was broken when one of the organizations was attempting to upgrade to Level 6. The first organization that was attacked was completely confused, and lost utterly under the fierce and merciless attack.
After this incident, many organization elders were shocked. After spending huge amounts of money for this piece of intelligence, they were aghast.
The scene of prosperity disappeared in a matter of minutes, and organizations no longer had any kind of friendship between them. They were wary of one another, with spies running amok. Subterfuge and divides became rampant in all main regions as the “Dark Chaos” began to gain momentum.
Chu You was aware that even though he had a head start, he would become more vulnerable to others’ attacks. He would become the target of other organizations, which might even form alliances to take him down. This was why he chose here to create his organization. There were things that were out of even Chu You’s control – he could only somewhat steer the general direction of the trend, but changing it completely was impossible.
Chu You came to the side of the magical tree and looked upwards at the soaring tree. The tree was extraordinary, as it exuded a godly aura.
Choosing the magical tree, its functional interface appeared before Chu You.
It was similar to an ordinary skill tree – the skills at the top were lit up, meaning that coins and strategic resources could be used to learn these skills. Only through learning and upgrading could players enjoy the additional benefits of the skills. At the same time, they could also light up the higher-level skills below. The usage of the magical tree was exclusive to the creator of the organization, while others only had the qualification to watch. Through watching the development of the skills, the organization players would be able to see the extent of the organization skills.
The upper-most skill required a relatively low amount of coins and resources – Chu You calmly elected to learn the first skill.
“Monster killing experience points +0.6%, Effective for: organization Player Members, Level 1.”
At the same time, since Chu You had learned the first skill, the second skill on the skill tree began to glow.
