The Tyrant Covets The S*ave - Chapter 28
He looked somewhat different from two days ago, but still looking as imposing as ever. Beher felt a complexity that words could not describe.
“I feel like I’ve come to a place I shouldn’t come……”
Beher was involuntarily wary of him. Lucai had not come in the room once since they arrived on their honeymoon. So it was awkward seeing him in the room now.
Come to think of it, there were two pillows on the bed, was this the room prepared for two?
Then where did he stay all this time?
“Since Your Highness didn’t come to the room the whole time, I thought you were spending the night in another room.”
Beher said without hiding her true feelings. There seemed to be some unfamiliar scent in the air.
A manly, savory smell. And then…the smell of dust.
No way…
Was he with a woman?
But then, this was His Majesty’s villa. It was not appropriate to spend time with other women.
“Well, I went on a trip a little far away.”
Far away?
“Were you in the capital?”
“No, I went to a lawless place full of demons.”
The unexpected words left Beher speechless for a while. Now, he meant he came here on the honeymoon and hunted demons? What in the world was this man’s idea in coming here?
Of course, she felt comfortable for a while because he didn’t bother her. She could understand to some extent that he did not marry her because of love, but that was not the case this time.
“Your Highness is really a strange man. I can’t believe you went hunting demons on our honeymoon. If His Majesty finds out, he might suspect us.”
She said it because she thought the contract should not be cracked. Beher looked straight at Lucai.
“Did a person who knows it so well flirt with another man?”
How did the conversation go this way?
Lucai began to take off his heavy uniform one by one tiredly. His hair was wet with sweat and covered with dust and blood. It seemed that he did not lie about having hunted demons.
“The boy is just a gardener who works here. And he looks much younger. How could he go after the Grand Duchess?”
Beher thought of the boy’s innocent face, his gesture of twisting and turning in embarrassment. The fact that he had any affection for her was impossible, given his behavior, which seemed like he had never experienced talking to a woman.
Seeing Lucai bring this up again gave her a glimpse of why he had been cold to her. It seemed that he was still angry.
Be still and be there for him like a doll in a display case.
She remembered the Grand Duke who visited her every time and teased her before marriage. There had been little action so far. She didn’t feel like it was her fault, but she felt the need to resolve this misunderstanding properly.
‘Because I have to get what I want.’
Beher thought selfishly. She slowly approached him to take care of his clothes.
She grabbed his collar, which was white and dusty. She was going to help him take off his clothes easily.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m going to take care of your clothes……”
She tried to act like a married couple even when no one was around. Since the person who imposed it was the Grand Duke, Beher approached him casually.
Lucai froze and looked down at Beher. He tried to refuse her hand, as if he didn’t like something.
“Leave it.”
What on earth is his problem? Beher took a small breath and let go of her hands. Then she apologized to him honestly. First of all, she decided that it was not a good idea to offend him.
“I am sorry that I talked to the boy. I guess I just couldn’t help but talk to him when he offered to give me flowers.”
It was a heartless conversation.
“……What are you doing?”
“I’m apologizing to you.”
“Well, it’s only right for you to talk back to me. But you’re apologizing so easily? I wonder what you’re thinking about with that little head.”
He threw his cloak roughly. After taking off his uniform, he tried to remove his underwear. Beher quickly pulled the gown over his shoulders.
She was embarrassed when they had physical contact, and she didn’t have the confidence to look at his naked body in an otherwise ordinary situation.
‘How can I seduce him in this situation? It’s absurd.’
“I don’t want to fight with you anymore. I want to rely on each other as partners, at least while we are in a contractual relationship.” (Beher)
Beher didn’t want any unnecessary emotional consumption.
He closed the gown and approached Beher.
“Partners…. You only see yourself as a doll, and always try to push me away.” (Lucai)
“It’s not wrong.”
“Besides, you don’t even use the word “Your Highness” anymore.” (Lucai)
Ah….
“I have gone too far ahead, haven’t I? Your Highness.”
Beher corrected herself again. When you expose your nails, you must also know how to hide them, even if they appear.
She meekly clasped her hands together and focused her elegant eyes on him. But Lucai didn’t look very pleased.
“…no, I like it when you say ‘you’. It makes us seem more like a couple. Don’t be so stubborn and call me a dog or a cow or something. It’s better to call me by my name.” (Lucai)
He tilted his face at an angle. A hot breath reached her ear. Soon she heard a drowsy voice.
“You have to do it. Don’t people think we love each other?”
A tingling sound rattled her ears. He liked to play pranks.
“Your opinion, let’s take it seriously.”
In the end Beher did not call his name. The boundary between him and her was vague. What was certain was that there was no need to get any closer. She did not want to love him.
“You’re tough.”
Lucai pressed Beher’s forehead with his thumb. Then he picked up his scattered clothes. Then he put a small box in the pocket of his gown and headed for the bathroom.
Seeing how he was careful, it seemed to be an important object.
Beher glanced at his shoulders, and then turned to sit in the chair.
She had to ask him for a favor, and she had to keep him here because she didn’t know when he would be out hunting demons again. She needed his help to get to the Forest of spirits.
“What are you doing?”
“……?”
Lucai turned to Beher at an angle with his hands in his gown. She could see a hint of annoyance on his face.
It was a look that said why she was acting senseless. Beher stood up. She stared at the man who seemed to have something left to say.
“You’re not going to take care of my bath?”
He didn’t ask her anything earlier. But with the clothes ready to go, it seemed too late to ask anything.
The spacious bathtub was made of cypress. The bathhouse at the Grand Duke’s residence was also quite spacious, but it was smaller than this one. Lucai was the first to get into the bathtub, which was filled with steam.
He dropped his gown on the floor.
It was in a damp place and her frizzy hair was drooping. Beher couldn’t breathe. She had never attended anyone’s bath before and didn’t know where to start.
Beher thought of what Lucy had done for her and took the bright red perfumed oil around and sprinkled it in the tub.
Lucai just sat still and watched Beher’s actions.
She only put in a little bit but the scent was surprisingly fragrant. As rich as it was, the bittersweet scent reminded her of roses. It was not a scent that suited him.
Oh well.
The scent of roses filled the bathroom. As she kept sniffing the perfume, she thought she should be in the bathtub, instead of the Grand Duke.
“Do you like the scent of roses?”
His voice rang out even though he spoke softly. Before she knew it, drops of water began to drip from her wet face.
“I don’t hate it…”
She didn’t know herself, but she seemed to like flowers. They were beautiful, and sometimes she was ridiculously encouraged to see them blooming even in difficult situations.
“Come closer.”
Beher was standing closest in the tub. If she got any closer, she would have to go into the bathtub.
But it didn’t seem like Lucai told her to get in, so Beher bent over and approached him.
His red eyes looked moist. Lucai looked at Beher with eyes filled with moisture.
“…you’re not making fun of me, are you?”
He said, lifting her chin.
Beher didn’t think she was teasing him. Rather, it looked like he was playing.
Lucai raised his hand that was in the water. She could hear his breathing loudly. Then he snatched Beher’s arm and pulled it.
“Ah….!”
There was no time to scream. Beher fell into the water with a splash. The sudden rush of heat made her whole body tingle. She was soaked up to her face in the water, and ended up looking like a drowned rat.
Lucy’s red hair, which she had carefully brushed, was wet with water. It stuck to one side of her face.
Things did not go well whenever she met him. Small things, big things, always happened.
All of this could have been solved if the Grand Duke Lucai had stayed still.
“You…!”
“You should take care of my bath, why are you standing there in a daze?”
He complained. Beher was frustrated as well.
“I was taking care of your bath. But you just want to play with water.”
Water dripped down on her white face. They landed on her severely angry lips.
“Look, don’t pretend to be innocent. You don’t seem to understand me very well yet.”
Lucai’s hand touched Beher’s wet dress. His face touched her faintly visible shoulder. She heard his kiss.
“Is it too short a time to understand a man after only one night, Beher?”
Lucai stared straight at Beher. Wet lips, moist eyes. He wanted her. In the embarrassing situation, Beher felt as if she was naked.
“What about the second night? I don’t intend to go easy on you this time.”
He expressed his desire and put pressure on Beher.
