The Tyrant Covets The S*ave - Chapter 30
Her whole body was tingling and aching. It felt different from the first night. There was no tearing pain. Beher could smell the scent of herbs again.
It was the same scent as the first night.
Naturally she thought Lucy had applied ointment to her body. Lucy was the only person who would be that considerate.
Beher got up from her bed. It was a little uncomfortable p, but not so much that she couldn’t walk.
“What is it?”
She felt something strange in her hand. She thought she saw a button on the bed. But the object would not let go of Beher’s hand. She was frustrated because she wanted to get out of bed as soon as possible.
She didn’t want to be in the place where she slept with Lucai any longer.
Beher lifted her fingers. She saw a shiny silver object. There was a diamond in the middle, reflected in her pure eyes.
How could this be her finger?
The thin, transparent ring looked as if it had been reserved for her. No way…did the Grand Duke Lucai put it on for her?
But he was not the man to do this. She would have understood a bit if he left the ring here , but he wasn’t a man who would have put the ring on himself.
It was metal, but it wasn’t cold at all. It was as if he had breathed warmth into her hand and put it on his own.
Beher opened her eyes wide. She looked around at the ring. She was not a fan of jewelry. She had a strong feeling that it would get in the way or slow her down so she didn’t want to wear it.
Beher grabbed the ring with her fingers. She tried to take it off. But perhaps it was because she felt the warmth remaining in the metal. She stopped removing the ring.
***
Beher, dressed in a green dress and cloak, walked down the mahogany staircase. The servants and maids looked busy. Even though she had only been here a short time, Beher could tell the atmosphere was different from usual.
She could see Lucy and Lucai in the distance. Lucy’s expression was very serious. Something bad must have happened.
As she approached them, Lucy smiled at her. In response to the smile, Beher waved briefly.
Lucai followed Lucy’s gaze and looked at Beher. Despite the fact that he had not slept until morning, he looked fine.
Beher was irritated because she couldn’t sleep properly. She didn’t mind staying up all night like this. But if she had been kept awake by someone else, it was a different story.
“Why did you get up already?”
Grand Duke Lucai was the first to speak. It seemed strange that she got up early. It seemed as if he was asking, “How did you wake up already when I bothered you all night?”
“….Because I couldn’t sleep thanks to someone.”
Beher said sarcastically. Lucy, who had been watching the two of them, got out of the way.
Lucai approached closer. As he straightened his clothes, he said.
“I couldn’t sleep all night either, thanks to you. Do you object?”
He seduced her first, and now he complained. Beher recalled last night. She was amazed how she boldly took her hands and rubbed his manhood.
He probably couldn’t sleep either. But she was a little frustrated because she also made the mistake of not pushing him away.
“There are many eyes.”
Beher spoke with an awareness of the surroundings. They were a couple, so there was no way they could not have known what they were doing in the room. But she was embarrassed by the situation, saying it openly.
She felt less ashamed walking around town in her tattered clothes.
“Are you embarrassed? You’re too bold a woman to feel like that.”
“Are you going to do it alone?”
Beher swept her hair from her forehead in frustration. That was when Lucai’s gaze turned sharp. He snatched Beher’s hand.
“……What are you doing?” (Beher)
“It suits you.” (Lucai)
“……?”
Seeming to know the ring well, Lucai kissed her finger.
“I was going to give it to you yesterday, but we were pretty busy. Do you like it?”
When she heard him speak, she was sure that it was Lucai who put the ring on her finger. Beher thought that Lucy had gotten it for her.
What on earth did this mean?
“I don’t like accessories very much.”
“You still have to wear it. Wouldn’t people be suspicious if my beloved wife doesn’t have a single ring on her finger?”
That’s right. There was a reason. He was afraid of harming this play, so he covered her finger with sparkles.
She didn’t originally expect it, but Beher didn’t feel very good about it. She felt like she was realizing the fact that she was a puppet. Beher wildly shook off Lucai’s hand.
“If Your Highness would hold still, no one would suspect a thing.”
Beher called him ‘Your Highness’. She didn’t pretend to feel good when she wasn’t.
“You don’t like it? I ordered it from the most famous handicraftsman in the empire.” (Lucai)
“That’s another matter. If you give it to me, explain it to me and you can put it on my finger. No, don’t put it on in the first place. Both of my hands are fine, I can at least put the ring on by myself.” (Beher)
“For your information…….”
Lucai’s red eyes studied Beher carefully. Normally, he would have said a word of threat, but he had urgent business to attend to and did not argue further.
After some conversation, Ben, who had been standing in the distance, approached. His uniform was covered with dirt.
“Your Highness. We have to go now. We are running low on supplies.”
“Understood.”
Lucai walked away without looking at Beher. Seeing that they were loading a lot of luggage, it looked like they were going somewhere to provide support.
“Lucy.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Beher approached Lucy, who was helping around, and asked her.
“What in the world is going on?”
Everyone looked busy, so Beher couldn’t help but wonder what the situation was. If it was being invaded by another country, she had to prepare for the battle.
Beher was thoroughly familiar with war. Under no circumstances did she make the decision that she could die.
“Um…that….”
Lucy hesitated. Perhaps she was worried about Beher.
“It looks like there’s been a landslide in the area. The road is frequented by merchants and citizens in general. Of all places, it rained so much a week ago that the soil collapsed. There are a lot of people there, so His Highness is assisting them right now.”
‘I can’t believe people are injured!’
Beher’s eyes went wide, trembling. The tips of her fingers were tense. Her brow wrinkled up with seriousness.
These were people who had nothing to do with her. They weren’t even people related to Vitan empire. Still, Beher was concerned. A split-second decision could keep a person alive or kill them.
Knowing it all too well, Beher didn’t even explain, but immediately exclaimed.
“Horse……! Where are the horses?”
“……huh?”
“Where did the landslide occur?”
Beher ran outside. The necessary support was already loaded and gone. There was nothing to prepare separately. There was a horse just in front of her.
The horse’s owner was robbed of his horse in a moment’s distraction.
“Ah…My Lady!”
Beher jumped up lightly. She fitted the boots she was wearing into the horse’s pedals, lifted the reins and struck it down.
“Heya!”
The horse raised its legs and suddenly started to run, startled by the whiplash. Every time the horse’s hooves touched the ground, dust raised up.
“Young Lady!”
She heard Lucy’s voice calling her in the distance. But Beher had no intention of stopping. Instead, she activated her magic compass so she could see where she was going.
A magical compass was engraved on her body and gave directions. Not only herself, but also others were possible.
Actually, she did not know where the scene of the accident took place, but there was a way. She could ask the transporters who followed Grand Duke Lucai.
After a while, she found some servants and some knights carrying goods.
“There!”
Beher called them with all her might. One of the knights turned around. As he was watching, someone was coming on horseback, but the person was wearing a dress made of precious cloth.
“Isn’t that the Grand Duchess?”
Fortunately, the knight recognized her. Beher waved at them. The knight paused for a moment, then stepped out.
“Whoa, whoa!”
Beher also stopped her horse.
“Ma’am, how are you in this place…?”
“Where did the landslide occur?”
“The place?”
Beher was frustrated when the many knights were wasting time when every second counted. It was as if the knights had never been through a proper battle.
“Say it quickly!”
She yelled at the knight.
Now she reminded them of a lord commanding an army. The knight, who was aghast for a moment, unconsciously stood at attention and spoke clearly.
“If you follow the road straight, you will come to a forkroad. Go straight at the red sign and you will see where the landslide occurred!”
“I understand.”
Her habits from her time in the Vitan Empire came in handy here. She formed a team for war and went out to fight. She had many subordinates who obeyed her at that time.
She didn’t realize that habit was still etched in her body. Beher was bewildered as she rode the horse.
After riding for a while, she saw a mound of soil. Then she heard screams. Voices asking for help, crying. There was no peace.
Beher stopped the horse and got off. Then she rushed to the scene.
Her expensive dress was somehow full of dirt.
She slowed her steps. Many people were late for treatment due to insufficient supplies. They were finally rescued from the pile of dirt and sand.
At that moment, she felt a hand pulling her leg. It was awkward at first. But she had felt this sensation before in the war.
It was a cry for help.
“Sa…help me……my leg.”
The old man finally spoke in pain. His leg was half torn off.
All she had to do was to heal his leg using her power. The water power also contained a healing technique. It was faint, but it was enough to stop the blood and healed the flesh a little.
Was there any reason to save this person? He may find out she was a spiritist.
But… one thing was certain.
If she didn’t act now, she would regret it.
There was a blue energy in Beher’s hand.
