Chapter 21: Take Me Away
Ansir dusted off the non-existent dust on his hands, and his smile gradually faded. His eyes were like deep pools of dark red, instilling fears into people’s hearts. “This time, it’s only one hand. If there’s a next time…”
“There won’t be a next time! There won’t be a next time!” Karpal quickly promised with tears streaming down his face.
Only then did Ansir retract his gaze from him in satisfaction. He turned back to glance at me. When he saw my pitiful state, he clicked his tongue unhappily and gestured with his head slightly. “Why are you still standing there?”
“…” I looked at him in confusion. In this situation, with so many vampires watching, if I didn’t stand where I was, could I run?
Ansir frowned, rubbed his brows, and ordered, “Come here, follow me.”
So he was hinting for me to follow him… This guy really didn’t know how to talk properly.
.
However, I was more than happy to leave this suffocating place, so I hurried after him.
Just then, I felt a burning gaze on me, like a thorn in my back.
Relying on my gut instinct, I looked back and saw Sandena watching me coldly from behind a group of girls.
Sandena pursed her lips tightly. Her eyes under the mask were full of hatred, which made her look sinister.
I knew that because of the kiss at Ansir’s house and how Ansir had acted to save me, there was a high chance that Sandena was starting to hate me.
But now was not the time for me to think about it. If Ansir left me behind, I would be even more unable to leave this “wolf den”.
So I quickened my pace, following closely behind Ansir.
Ansir tilted her head slightly and glanced at me. His lips curled into a smile. “What? You’re not afraid of me now? You’re following me so closely.”
I tugged at his sleeve. I didn’t argue with him. I just pleaded, “Please take me away from here, President Ansir.”
Ansir harrumphed, seemingly unsatisfied with this form of address. He turned around indifferently and quickly walked out the door.
His legs were long, and if he moved faster, I had to jog to keep up.
I ran until I was out of breath. I thought to myself, “Petty! Do you really need someone to call you His Highness to be satisfied?”
Ansir led me away from the ballroom. He didn’t choose the path I’d taken when I’d come through the front door of the manor. Instead, he took the other path.
It seemed like there weren’t many people who took this path. It was quiet and elegant, directly going deep into the garden scenery that they could only take a look at.
There was a small bridge and flowing water, creating a unique scene. A gentle breeze blew past from time to time, reflecting the night sky. It was beautiful beyond words.
As we walked, Ansir finally slowed down and eventually stopped.
He glanced over his shoulder at me, the anger on his face finally seeming to fade, his demeanor becoming calm.
He was very tall, and I had to raise my head to carefully observe the expression on his face.
His gaze was bland as he studied me from head to toe. Eventually his eyes settled on the coat I held in my hand.
His brow furrowed, as if he wasn’t pleased that I’d crumpled his coat in my hands. “Is this how you’re supposed to be my servant?” he said with a soft click of his tongue. “You don’t even know how to hold a shirt.”
He’d started the conversation again. Perfect. I’d wanted to contradict him earlier.
“When did I become your servant?”
After Ansir heard this, the corners of his lips twitched slightly, and his gaze was somewhat nasty and playful. “If you’re not my servant, then why did you follow me out?”
He was so unshameful!
I could only take a deep breath and calm myself down. I didn’t want to overreact. “President Ansir, please listen carefully. I am neither your servant nor your follower.” I paused and shoved the coat back into his hand. I said coldly, “So, I ask President Ansir to keep your own clothes safe.”
Ansir held his coat, his brow furrowed into a knot, as if angered by my attempt to draw the line between us.
His gaze became extremely deep and cold. After staring at me for a moment, he walked towards me. An invisible pressure came from above my head and slowly enveloped me.
This familiar pressure made my body tremble subconsciously. In my panic, Ansir lowered his head and closed in on me. His gaze landed on my timid face, and his voice was terrifyingly cold. “Did making you my servant wrong you?”
I wanted to step back, but the next second, Ansir reached out and wrapped his arm around my thin waist, stopping me from dodging.
But I didn’t struggle or give in. Instead, I looked into Ansir’s eyes. “I just don’t want to be someone’s vassal. I don’t want to be anyone’s servant.”
The knot between Ansir’s brows tightened even more. With one hand, he brought my entire body into his, gripping the side of my waist tightly.
His warm breath landed on my face, bringing with it a strong masculine scent. His firm and strong chest made my heart tremble, and my eyes couldn’t help but widen. Even my breathing stopped.
Then, a domineering kiss that couldn’t be denied came at me. It was like an unavoidable storm.
