Chapter 25: Saved By The Cold-hearted Prince
Just as my heart was about to jump out of my throat, I finally saw the true appearance of these black shadows!
They were vampires!
Unlike the vampires I had seen in school, these vampires’ skin was paler, and their eyes were blood red!
They were like ghosts nourished by the dark night, their fangs exposed, terrifying and fierce.
At this moment, they looked very restless. The light in their eyes was rather frightening. Their thirst for blood had reached its peak!
I noticed that it was the bleeding wound, which I got from jumping out of the car, that attracted them!
But they didn’t attack me right away. It was clear they were wary of each other, too. Their eyes were hostile, and a low, warning growl came out from their mouth. They all seemed intent on taking my blood for themselves.
While they were keeping each other in check, I quickly rolled and slipped through the gap.
.
Before I ran away, I saw a thick branch in the bushes. After escaping the encirclement, I picked up the branch without stopping.
The group of vampires noticed my actions and immediately turned around and pounced at me like crazy.
I swung my stick and knocked the one who was charging at me to the ground, but the next one quickly charged at me again. I used the method my grandfather had taught me to gather my strength and kicked him in the stomach. He took a few steps back.
I realized that although these vampires were fierce, their reactions weren’t fast. They were a little straightforward and kept approaching me by instinct.
So I let my arms and legs go even more freely, using the stick and my feet to knock two more back.
But there were too many of them, and they were still gathering. I was already panting.
The ones that were thrown to the ground didn’t seem to feel anything. They got back up from the ground and bared their fangs, letting out terrifying roars.
Meanwhile, my wound was still bleeding profusely, and I had expended so much energy. I felt dizzy and my whole body was trembling.
“Get lost!” Despair crept into my heart bit by bit. I used the last of my strength to wave the stick in my hand.
But that didn’t deter them in the least. They were still determined, one step at a time, closing in on me.
Just as I was about to run out of energy to resist, a silver light flashed in front of me. It brought with it a surging aura. The surrounding area swirled with a fierce gale, forcing the vampire in front of me to retreat a distance.
I turned around. It was Herbert!
He appeared not far behind me, his expression impassive, his face so calm that there was not a trace of emotion.
His gaze flicked to me briefly before returning to the group of vampires.
He narrowed his eyes and slightly folded his right hand. A powerful force rushed toward the evil vampires from midair and directly sent them flying. The sharp, miserable howl echoed in the gloomy path, looking particularly mournful.
However, they weren’t about to give up. They lunged at me even more wildly.
Herbert was very strong, but the group of vampires who seemed to have lost consciousness did not care about their lives at all!
I hid behind him and tried my best to avoid the attacks of the vampires. However, the number of monsters increased!
I accidentally stepped on a stone on the ground, causing me to lose my balance. I was about to be swallowed by those crazy vampires!
Hence, I quickly extended the tree branch in my hand and pushed it against the vampire in front of me. I wanted to borrow the force to stabilize myself.
However, I didn’t expect that because I used too much force, I fell backwards. To maintain my balance, I rotated my body.
But I’d forgotten that Herbert was standing behind me. Right now, he was just about ready to deal with an aggressive vampire. He just turned around and leaned over to fight back.
And so, coincidentally, my face was right next to his.
Just then, the vampire behind me pounced at me. Herbert was in a hurry to deal with it, so he moved a lot. Just like that, our lips met in front of my terrified eyes!!
Herbert’s lips were cold but soft. The touch was so shocking that my mind went blank and I took an involuntary step back.
Herbert shoved me aside, and killed the vampire behind me with the weapon in his hand.
He still looked so aloof and emotionless, but I thought I sensed a flash of barely noticeable panic in his eyes.
“I… I’m sorry, Your Highness Herbert, I didn’t mean to.” I quickly apologized… This coincidence really makes me want to dig a hole and bury myself in it!
“…” Herbert didn’t respond, he just dealt with the rest of the vampires. I don’t know if it was my imagination, but I think Herbert’s face had a tinge of red on it.
Herbert didn’t look at me again. Instead, he frowned and looked away, returning his attention to this group of restless vampires. The power he displayed was more ferocious than before. A silver ball of light suddenly shot towards all the vampires.
After one move, all the vampires were lying on the ground. Herbert glanced at them and said coldly, “The scums who broke the coexistence treaty are unforgivable!”
Then, he turned around coldly to leave.
