Chapter 27: Ansir Wants to Send Me Home
“Yes,” Ansir replied with a hint of displeasure. “Who else could it be?”
Elvin seemed to have already known the answer. He nodded. “That fiancée of yours is still the same as always. My brother is even more outstanding. To be associated with such a family, tsk tsk…”
At this point, Elvin patted Ansir on the shoulder, his smile filled with sympathy and mockery.
Ansir slapped Elvin’s hand away and rolled his eyes at Elvin. “If you say another word, I’ll take care of you too!”
Elvin shut his mouth resentfully and turned back to me. “Do you want to go with this fiend, or do you want me to take you home?”
I didn’t have time to interrupt just now, so I panicked. “Of course…”
Ansir’s fierce gaze swung to me, cold and fierce.. “Of course who?”
I immediately choked. Under his gaze, I couldn’t say a word. I almost felt like running away.
But Elvin pressed a hand to my shoulder and smiled at me through narrowed eyes. “Aye, I know. Someone’s too strong for lust. No one’s not afraid of him. You should go with him. It’s okay.”
“I…” I really have a lot to say but couldn’t say a word.
Elvin was obviously a safer and more reliable choice, but in front of Ansir, I couldn’t say what I was thinking.
“You what? You have a problem with that?” Ansir raised an eyebrow, his gaze becoming even more dangerous.
“No. Let’s go.” Resigned to my fate, I waved to Elvin and walked over to Ansir, but I was crestfallen and didn’t look happy at all.
However, Ansir nodded in satisfaction and led the way. “Come here. My car is parked at the intersection.”
I could only follow.
And Elvin was right behind me, sniggering and smiling thoughtfully at us.
Following behind Ansir, I felt that my situation wasn’t much better than facing the group of ‘wild ghosts’. I even felt that my situation was even more dangerous.
Thinking back, from the day I met Ansir, the peaceful days were gone forever, and the events he encountered were more shocking than the last. And the person who was connected to these matters was Ansir.
In Rockefeller, most people viewed Ansir as a god, an untouchable holy and noble existence. However, in my heart, I was a little afraid to get too close to him. On one hand, I was afraid of getting into more trouble, but on the other hand…
I was afraid the vampire’s uncontrollable attraction was going to lure me into losing myself like everyone else. The thought brought back the kiss from before, and my heart suddenly raced.
Unconsciously, I slowed down and stepped away from Ansir. My heart was a mess and I didn’t want him to notice my panic.
Soon, I came up with a way to get out of my misery. I pretended to walk down the wrong path with my head buried in my hands and walked down a fork in the road to another.
However, before I reached the intersection, a strong wind suddenly blew past me. I subconsciously closed my eyes. When I opened them again, Ansir was already standing in front of me.
Ansir seemed to be furious at my presumptuous actions. He narrowed his eyes and stared at me coldly for a moment before asking coldly, “Are you thinking about running away?”
Then, before I could reply, he grabbed my wrist and led me back to the road.
Without a word, Ansir pulled me right up to his black sportscar, then he released his grip. He opened the car door, threw me into the passenger seat, and buckled my seat belt.
His movements were smooth and fluid, and he didn’t even give me a chance to fight back.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked, remembering the last time we’d had a masked party. I’d tried to keep my words from angering him or provoking him into doing something outrageous, so I’d slowed my tone to a tentative whisper.
Ansir narrowed his eyes. He tilted his head slightly to look at me. “Where do you want me to take you?” he asked with a hint of mischief in his voice.
“Of course I’m going home!”
“…” Ansir looked away and didn’t want to continue talking to me. He started the car and stepped on the accelerator. The car sped away.
The scenery outside the window quickly fell back, leaving only a blurry afterimage. This was the fastest car I’d ever been in. I gripped the armrest in fright. “Please drive slower! You’ll get into trouble if you drive like this! I don’t want to be on the news from dying in a car accident!”
Ansir smiled disapprovingly when he heard that. He easily and efficiently steered the steering wheel and overtook a car with a beautiful bend. He left the car beside him behind. “Don’t worry, I’m very skilled in all aspects.”
I had a feeling that there was a hidden meaning behind his words. My face instantly turned red from nervousness and teasing.
Did Ansir really want to send me home? Or did he have other intentions? Could it be that he didn’t succeed at the banquet before, so…
At the thought of this, my face turned even redder and my heart beat even faster!
Perhaps the suspicion in my eyes was too strong, but Ansir clicked his tongue unhappily when he saw it. He didn’t seem pleased with the guarded look on my face. “What does that look mean?”
