- Chapter 4 - The Villain Found Out This Was A Novel Chapter 4
I should have gotten a ring if I was proposed to by someone, but I didn’t know that I would be threatened with a sword like this when someone proposed to me. It’s said that when a person is greatly shocked, their mind goes blank.
I couldn’t say anything for a moment and then I came to my senses.
“Are we going to get married? Why all of a sudden… ?”
“Didn’t you suggest that I should adopt the child? Single parents couldn’t adopt children. That’s the national law here.”
The view of adoption in this novel must be taken from modern times…
“You are the most powerful person right now, can’t you do it even if it’d against the law?
“You say like you don’t know. Even though you have the highest power, you must still obey the law properly. And I didn’t use my power for the wrong purpose.”
But I think it’s unfair because you tried to kill me now.
“Then, when do you plan on getting a divorce…?”
“If the curse is removed, I’ll divorce you. And I’ll also give you enough alimony that you can spend for the rest of your life.”
‘Is he talking like that because he feels sympathy for me now?’
After all, if we get married, he won’t be able to kill me carelessly. And who knows? I can return to my world, right?
“Alright. I’ll marry you.”
“We are a couple who got married by agreement, so we will sleep separately.”
‘It’s what I hoped for.’
“Well, then, we should hurry up to get married. Because we have to get Kian soon.”
“In order to hold a wedding, the King’s approval is required. It will take a few days before we get approval.”
“Hey, if it’s late, we couldn’t bring Kian, right? After three days, we have to bring Kian. Or Marquis Raidox will take him first!”
“Then, we will only have dinner first. Even if the ceremony couldn’t be held right away, you don’t need to rush to bring the child.”
“If something goes wrong, I’m not responsible about it. You have to promise to release me then.”
“I promise.”
I was even more anxious because it seemed like he was too easy to make promises.
For some reason, I had a terrifying thought that if Marquis Raidox found Kian first that day, Sikar would kill me and bring Kian here by himself.
“But, didn’t you say that you would respect me?”
Of course I said that yesterday. But since my life was saved, this is my last pride. It’s unfair to be treated this way, but I can’t say any words of respect to someone younger than me.
“My goodness, I’m five years older than you… If you want me to respect you, you too…”
Contrary to my heart, my voice was getting smaller and smaller. Fortunately, when I glanced at Sikar’s expression, it didn’t seem like he was offended, so I secretly sighed of relief.
“In the world you live in, age comes first, but this is different. You know that too, right?”
“Oh, I know.”
“Now that we are a couple, in the future, in places where there are a lot of people, you have to respect me. And don’t forget to use the word ‘Honey’ if necessary.”
When the word ‘Honey’ came out of Sikar’s mouth, it sounded awkward, as if the word ‘Honey’ came out from devil’s mouth.
If I don’t want to die, I have to accept his proposal, so I have no choice.
“But, when you propose to someone, you have to do it while holding a round object, not a sword.”
Sikar looked at me with his arms crossed.
“Are you talking about shackles?”
‘Well, let’s not talk about it.’
Anyway, I promised Sikar that I wouldn’t run away and I would be his bride, but maybe he didn’t believe what I said, he asked Durion, his trusted knight, to look after me until the wedding.
Even so, I didn’t give up on a glimmer of hope. However, after a few days passed, the miracle didn’t happen to me. So I had no choice but to marry Sikar in the end.
*****
The wedding was held modestly with only the people in the duke’s residence gathered. The reason this ceremony was more simple because I was suffering from some kind of syndrome, but the real reason was because we had to take Kian after the ceremony was over.
Even when we kissed for the final wedding ceremony, we pretended to kiss and finished this bloody wedding safely.
His grandmother’s dementia recurred, so she couldn’t even see our wedding, and had to go straight to Lepere for treatment.
We didn’t even have time to change our clothes because we had to bring Kian on time, so we got on the carriage straight away.
To others, it looked like we were going on a honeymoon, but in reality, it was to bring Kian. Now, Kian will be in the same house where I lived on my first day here.
And today, Kian, who had no more food, wandered outside in hunger and fell horribly in an alley.
The heroine’s father, Marquis Raidox, finds him and take care of him, but he learns that Kian is the only royal descendant of the Recador family and he’ll protects him.
And the male protagonist, Kian, is overjoyed by Marquis Raidox’ kindness, and falls in love with his daughter, Lucy. So, we have to go first and get Kian, before Marquis Raidox finds him.
<It was snowing so hard that he couldn’t even see an inch ahead, and snow was pouring over his head. Because of the snow that was about to devour young Kian’s body, he couldn’t find his mother. He looked up at the sky, feeling hate and disgust at the snow that had fallen all night, but the whole world was just a blank white paper. It was too scary for a seven year old to go through. His greatest father in the world was killed by soldiers sent by the King. His mother was the only person he could rely on, but after a few years, his mother finally left Kian. There is nothing left of a seven year old child.>
Sikar held my hand and read my memory of the novel. He let go of my hand after getting the answer he wanted.
“It’s not even funny that Marquis Raidox are the father of the main character. I wonder what kind of expression he will make if he finds out he’s a character in a novel.”
If it’s Raidox, it’s going to get pretty serious and it looks like he’s going down the path of a priest…
Come to think of it, Sikar must have been a little upset when he found out that this world was a novel, but apparently, wasn’t he too relaxed?
“But, are you okay?”
“What?”
“You knew this place was in a novel. And you’re not the main characters, but the villain…”
“What’s the big deal? In your world, this would be a novel, but to me it’s just a world I live in.”
He is a villain, so he has a strong mentality.
“It must be difficult for you to adapt to this world that’s completely different from the one you were in, but you seem to be adjusting well.”
Do I look like I’m adjusting well now?
Can’t he see that he’s threatening me to marry him?
Anyway, if it were me, I would have been quite upset, but Sikar was looking out the carriage with a very calm look.
His hair fluttered in the wind.
His appearance was so beautiful and stunning that it seemed to give off a mysterious aura.
The reason why this handsome Duke had to become a villain was because of the many betrayals he had suffered.
The former King betrayed Sikar’s parents, and Sikar removed the former King who had killed his parents and placed Gillian on the throne.
However, he didn’t fully trust Gillian, as he had seen his father betrayed by his master, whom he had been so loyal to.
Sickar, who was only 22 years old, seemed a little pitiful when I thought about why he had no choice but to distrust people.
Am I too immersed in the sentiments of the novel?
Sikar suddenly turned his head and his eyes met mine.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Oh, that… I mean…”
At that moment, I remembered that I was still wearing that tiara.
“To ask if you can help me to remove the tiara from my head. It feels uncomfortable.”
“The wedding is over, so you can take off the tiara.”
“Then I’ll take this off.”
I thought, I could take it off at once, but the tiara got tangled in my hair and didn’t come off properly.
As I was struggling to take off it, I heard Sikar’s long sigh.
“Before you take it off, you have to take off the tangled hair.”
“Something like this… I’ve never worn it, it’s my first time wearing a tiara.”
“Stay still. I will take it off.”
I thought it would come off really well. If I had known it would rip off my scalp, I would have just taken it off by myself.
“Ouch! Hey! My scalp!”
“It’s tough, so stay still.”
“It’s like having all your hair pulled out from the top of your head!”
“It’s done.”
“… ? Is it done?”
“Now it’s really done.”
It was only after he said that a few more times that it was done, the tiara fell off from my head.
“You had short hair, so I took it off easily.”
Hey, did you say this was easy to remove? You almost made me go bald?!
“Your hair is a mess. You’d better tidy it up before we arrive.”
I looked at myself through the carriage window to fix my hair. And in the reflective glass window, I look like a beggar with messy hair.
Sikar looked at me and raised one corner of his mouth. It was Sikar, who was described in the novel that he never smiled, so I was amazed by the expression on his face.
“Are you laughing at me now?”
“No way. It’s the first time I’ve seen a woman look like that, I won’t laugh.”
Sikar snorted and turned his head.
Seriously, there’s no way he’d laugh with his personality like that, even if I looked like a nerd.
*****
It didn’t take long to get into the farmhouse on Mount Hill.
Fortunately, on the road when the snow had subsided, I could see Kian running to find a water, just like in the novel.
Seeing Kian who is now only seven years old, looking for water to fill his stomach, it won’t have any effect on overcoming his hunger.
He is the main character in a novel that I read before, so I can’t just ignore him.
I’m a little sorry that he almost died because of me, but now he won’t die, and I’ll do my best to help him.
We followed Kian quietly, a little further from Kian as planned, then Kian collapsed in the cold snow.
Sikar got off the carriage and held Kian, who was lying on the road.
His little body was suffering from cold and hunger, and the bucket of water
he was carrying fell and made his body wet.
Water dripped from Kian’s body as we entered the carriage.
“What are you doing? Hurry up, take off your coat and wrap it at Kian’s body. He got wet in the middle of winter.”
Sikar took off his coat and hugged Kian, but he looked uncomfortable.
“It’s annoying.”
When I touched Kian’s forehead, his body was very hot.
“Like in the original story, his body was hot because of fever.”
Sikar, who was holding Kian awkwardly, took my hand and started reading my memories again.
