- Chapter 36 - The Villainess’ Beloved Plan: The Struggles to Avoid a Doomed End Chapter 36
It was autumn and the atmosphere had cooled to the point that the first snow was about to fall in the royal city of Glastona.
It had been three months since Sophia and Randall got married.
Randall, who had been staying at the castle since their marriage, had started to return to the Duke of Voltio’s house last month.
The trigger was these words from Johannes.
“Mr. Kyle really likes Mistress, doesn’t he? The other day he brought her a chocolate tart, which is very popular in the castle. The mistress seems to be very happy and …… might be swayed away if she’s not careful.”
Kyle, the eldest son of the Duke of Levord, is a friend of Randall’s and the man who wanted Sophia to marry him. He had declared that he would take her if he had the chance, and Randall was angry the moment he heard about it.
Sophia is Randall’s wife. It would be a disgrace to the Duke of Voltio’s family for generations to come if he allowed a married woman to have an affair and then have her snatched away from him. It would be a shame for the Dukes of Voltio to allow Sophia to go unchecked. Yes, this was for surveillance.
Randall had no choice but to return to the duke’s house, having come up with a list of reasons that would satisfy himself.
Johannes’ smirk annoyed him, but it was the husband’s duty to prevent his wife from being unfaithful. There was nothing wrong with that.
Randall’s return to the duke’s house seemed to have caught the king’s attention, and one winter morning he was summoned to the duke’s house by the king, having just been appointed to his post.
He was summoned one winter morning by the king, who said, “It is about time you finished your work. So where are you going?”
Randall did not understand what the king was trying to say.
When Randall twisted his head, the king continued impatiently, “What are you confused about? You’re supposed to be on your honeymoon!”
‘What?’
“It’s getting colder, so you should go somewhere warm. It’s warm all year round in Verhund. It’s perfect for this time of year.”
“Honeymoon……?”
Randall’s mind went blank with the unexpected news.
The king raised his eyebrows.
“You didn’t think you were going to go? These days it’s fashionable for young people to go on a trip they call a honeymoon when they get married!”
Even though he is middle-aged, he knows what is going on with the “young people” these days.
Randall inwardly clicked his tongue. The king was going to force him to go on a honeymoon. But it was obvious that if he said no, his uncle would be in a bad mood. The king loves his second princess, Sophia, very much.
Randall wondered how he could evade the problem
He said, “I have a lot of …… work to do.”
“Don’t lie to me. I know you’ve done your work for the next six months.”
‘Damn you’. Randall swore inside.
The king snickered and turned to the silent Randall and ordered, “Go on your honeymoon with Sophia. You and Sophia are going on a boat trip to Verhund. I’ll arrange the boat tickets for you.”
Randall thought, even after all this time, that the most troublesome thing about marrying Sophia would be the presence of this stupid parent
‘Eh! You’re going on a honeymoon to Verhund? I love it.”
Two days after Randall told me we were going on our honeymoon, Arena Legato, who had come to visit, looked envious when Sophia told her about it.
Verhund is the country of Prince Cyril, the target of capture. And Arena is a Cyril admirer(fan). She would love to go with her, but as a countess, she can’t come with her on her honeymoon. Orion, her escort, and Isolte, her maid of honor, will go with her though.
The target of the capture, Cyril Verhund, is the first prince of Verhund country and will be twenty-two years old two years from now when the game of “Glastona’s Snow” begins – in other words, he is twenty years old now. With silver hair and purple eyes, he looks like an unquestionable prince, but he is a bit of a black-hearted prince – or rather, a prince who is good at deception. Even in the early stages of the game, he tried to use the heroine, Keira, for his own benefit, but in the process, he ends up falling in love with her.
Prince Cyril, who becomes kinder as their intimacy increases, has a core group of fans who like the gap between the two, and it seems that Arena was one of those fans in the previous life.
Sophia did not dislike Cyril either – or rather, she liked all the targets of her capture- but Sophia liked Randall more than anyone else, so her passion for him was different from that of Arena. She was different from Arena.
“But when I say I’m going to Verhund, I’m going on a honeymoon trip, not a diplomatic one, so I’m not planning to visit any royalty in particular, okay?”
Verhund is a country south of Grastona across the sea. And there are many tourist attractions such as ruins and nature, making it a perfect travel destination. This time it was only a honeymoon, not a diplomatic trip. More to the point, Sophia has never engaged in diplomacy even after she was taken in as a princess at the castle. Sophia’s name is probably well known inside and outside the country, as the king has recognized her as the second princess, but very few people know her face. No one would pay any attention to a princess who is not so well known.
“What a pity. I was going to ask you to tell me what the 20-year-old Prince Cyril looked like.”
“After 20 years old, the face doesn’t change that much, does it?” Orion said, and Alaina peremptorily retorted: “That’s not the case! Maybe the hairstyle is different! Even if it’s not different, I want to worship that beautiful face! I want to see Cyril alive and moving!”
“I wish I had a camera at least.”
Sophia always wished she had a camera. ‘I wish I had a camera to capture the beauty of Randall in my viewfinder. Unfortunately, there are no cameras in this world.’
“That’s it!”
Arena pointed her index finger at Sophia.
“A camera! Let’s make a camera! And take a sneak shot of Cyril from a distance! It’s a good idea!”
“What?”
“I told you, I’m not going to Verhund’s castle……..”
Sophia and Orion looked aghast, but Arena was completely excited.
“I can’t stay still once I’ve made up my mind! When do you leave?”
“Well, in ten days,” she said. “We will sail on the Queen Amiliana, which will take five days to get there.”
The Queen Amiliana is a luxury cruise ship of the Verhund, a country that has been focusing on tourism in recent years. It will take five days to make the slow voyage through the open Baltic Sea between the port of Avilia in the northwest of the country of Grasstona and the port of Casals in the west of Verhund.
According to Randall, the tickets had already been obtained by Sophia’s father, the king, and it’s a royal suite with only three rooms on the ship. It is the highest class, even above the first-class cabins.
“I understand, ten days later!”
Arena seemed to be serious about making the camera. She stood up quickly and said, “I can’t stay like this!” And rushed out of the room.
Sophia and Orion looked at each other and said, “I think we can make a camera.”
“Do you think she can make a …… camera?”
“I vote no.”
“I know, right?”
Sophia somehow remembered the cardboard camera she had made in elementary school in a previous life, but there was no cardboard or thermal paper in this world, and she had to leave in ten days. Well, ‘it would be impossible’, she laughed.
