- Chapter 38 - The Villainess’ Beloved Plan: The Struggles to Avoid a Doomed End Chapter 38
Kyle’s father, the Duke Levord, and the King are good friends.
Naturally, he knows that Sophia and Randall will be traveling to Verhund this time on their honeymoon aboard the Queen Amiriana.
As soon as Kyle heard about it from his father, he decided to get in Randall’s way, partly because he had been bored lately.
Kyle had intended to propose marriage to Sophia had Randall not married Sophia first. Kyle had given up once, but when he saw that Randall didn’t seem to cherish Sophia, he was ready to snatch her from Randall’s side at a moment’s notice.
And while he was definitely willing to interfere, he was also a little worried. Randall does not care about Sophia, would Sophia be made to cry by Randall’s insensitivity during the trip? He couldn’t stay still at the thought of that, so he asked his father and mother if he could board the same ship that Sophia and her family would be on, and the two happy lovebirds gladly said, “Go ahead,” and sent him off. Kyle had intended to get a first-class cabin, but luckily, a royal suite was available, and he took the ticket.
“I’m going to Verhund, too.”
Randall was mortified and swatted Kyle’s hand as he reached for Randall’s champagne glass, as if it were a normal thing to do
Kyle approached Sophia on the balcony, rubbing the hand that had been struck by Randall, and pulled out a white rose from his chest and offered it to her.
He then said, “Lady Sophia, since that’s the case, why don’t you come and enjoy the boat ride with me?”
Sophia laughed and accepted the rose. Kyle is the son of Duchess Rose, who is a good friend of Sophia’s, and Kyle himself is a friendly and kind man.
Orion looked at Sophia, Kyle, and Randall, who was puffing on his champagne glass, and chuckled. ‘Oh, my, this is getting interesting.’
Kyle was not a character of capture in “Glastona’s Snow,” but Orion was excited as she popped a grape into her mouth, thinking that this might be a real otome game she could enjoy.
A little after the Queen Amiriana set sail, Sophia was invited by Kyle to the pool.
She also invited Randall to join her, but as expected, he said, “I won’t go”.
Even though they were going to be on a luxury cruise ship, he put on a difficult face and stayed in his room.
In this world, there are no revealing swimsuits like in the previous world, but there are knee-length short dresses made for getting wet in the water. Unfortunately, however, the season is winter, and when they head to the pool, they cannot swim. Sophia and Kyle sat on deck chairs in a glass partitioned room overlooking the pool and drank juices that looked like tropical drinks with lots of fruit on them.
“I can also prepare some light meals, how would you like them?”
A man of about 30 years old with dark skin and habitually black hair called out to them. His name is Cedric, and he is a member of the service staff dedicated to the Royal Suite. There is still time before dinner, but it is certainly time to start feeling a little hungry. Kyle ordered a sandwich and Sofia ordered a cheesecake with berry sauce.
“Is this your first time on a boat, Sofia-sama?”
“Yes, it is. I’ve been meaning to tell you for a while now, but Sophia is fine. You are a friend of Randall’s.”
He said, “Yeah? Then I want you to call me Kyle. Oh, is it okay without honorifics?”
“Of course.”
“Oh, Then, I’ll be formal, too.”
“Hmmm. That’s good. Do you think Randall will be jealous?”
“I don’t think Randall would be jealous”
Sophia tried to imagine Randall being jealous because of her, but it was impossible. She could picture him unhappy as much as she wanted, but there was no way Randall would be jealous.
‘I see, Sophia seems to be a tougher type of woman than I thought.’
Sophia did not understand why Kyle was laughing when he said that.
Cedric brought sandwiches and cheesecake, and while she and Kyle were eating, Isolte came over.
“Mistress! Which dress do you want for today’s dance party? There is a dress code, so it can be red, white, black, or navy blue. I didn’t bring navy blue or white, so please choose red or black.”
“A party?”
Sophia twisted her head and Kyle nodded, “Yeah.”
“You didn’t know? Every night on the Queen Amiliana there are events. The first night is a dance party, tomorrow is an opera performance, the third day is a magic show, and the last night is another dance party.”
“There’s such an event?”
Sophia was excited. She had been to dance parties before, but this would be her first time at an opera or magic show.
“I’ve never been to an opera or a magic show,” Sophia said.
“The dance party is the only one with a dress code. The rest of the time you can wear whatever you want.”
“That’s right. So Mistress, we need to decide on today’s dress. By the way, my recommendation is a fiery red. It’s off-the-shoulder, and the hem of the dress has layers of fabric that look like rose petals, so it’s both mature and pretty!”
Sophia thought of the dress Isolte had described in her head. ‘If I recall, this was one that Isolte had happily ordered when she came to get permission from Randall to make the dress. It was too fanciful, and Sophia had only put it on twice, once for the fitting and once for the final check.
Sophia was unsure, but traveling always made her feel more open-minded. She was a little embarrassed, but nodded her head and said, well, I’m on a trip, so I might as well try it on.
Isolte was gutted.
“Come back to the room early so I can get you ready!” Isolte said and left in a hurry.
Kyle laughed and asked if he could have a dance with her at the party, and without thinking, Sophia readily agreed.
Little did she know that it would later become a small spark.
