When she invited Johannes, he said he would also attend the play with her, so she asked Cedric to prepare five seats for them to watch the opera.
This time, the painter Raqqa was not allowed to come because it was forbidden to make a picture of the opera.
She was surprised to find a room on the ship where she could watch the opera. Guests staying in the Royal Suite were given special upstairs box seats and were given opera glasses.
When they entered the box seats, which had chairs for five guests side by side, drinks and snacks were provided. It was truly a very well-equipped luxury cruise ship.
Sofia sat down next to Randall and immediately put the opera glasses to her eyes. It was her first time to use opera glasses, but she could see very well.
“It hasn’t started yet,” Randall said.
Randall spoke to her, and when she looked at him with the opera glasses in her eyes, her heart jumped when she saw a close-up of his frowning face. ‘Oh no, this was too much for my heart.’ She took off the opera glasses and held them over her heart, which was beating at an incredible rate. A good-looking do-up is not half as destructive as a good-looking do-up.
‘…… but with this, Randall can observe all he wants from a distance ……’
‘When I go back to the Duke’s house, I should ask him to buy me one of these opera glasses.’
While Sophia was seriously worrying about this, an announcement was made and the opera was about to begin.
The setting was the country of Verhund about a hundred years ago. It is said to be a tragic love story between a prostitute and a wealthy man.
(It’s kind of a story like La Traviata.)
Sophia was quickly drawn in by the powerful singing and the heartbreakingly realistic acting.
The leading man is quite handsome, and she couldn’t help but follow him with her eyes. She wondered if the Royal Suite passengers would be allowed to shake hands with him later as a perk.
‘I feel like I’ve seen this face before, but was there a mob like that in the game? Is it my imagination? Whatever, as long as it’s cool.’
The actor had brown skin and auburn hair. He was tall and broad-shouldered. His face on his thick neck is fearless. She would like to see him closer, not through opera glasses.
When the play reached its climax and the curtain fell after the heroine lost her life and the grieving man committed suicide by poisoning himself, Sophia wiped her tears with a handkerchief, which she had spilled because she was so moved. The storyline proceeded like that of La Traviata, but ended like that of Romeo and Juliet.
Sophia was very satisfied, but Orion, who was seated next to her on the opposite side of the stage from Randall, was not happy. She heard her mumbling, “I would have preferred a comedy,” which made Sophia chuckle.
When they returned to the area where the royal suite was located, they found Kyle, who was also watching the opera. Kyle smiled briskly and came over next to Sophia.
He asked, “Sophia, how did you like it? Did you enjoy it?”
“Yeah Very much! The actor who played Raffel was so beautiful, I couldn’t stop staring at him.”
“Oh, him! I’ll tell you a secret. I just learned about him a few minutes ago. The actor who plays Raffel is actually a passenger in the other room of the Royal Suite.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes, he’s travelling on business.”
Sophia was surprised that an actor could stay in the royal suite.
“It looks like he was barely in the room yesterday and today because of practice and stuff, but I think he’ll be in the room tomorrow, so maybe I’ll see you at the pool or in the salon.”
“I’d love to meet you there!”
As Sophia was getting excited, Randall blurted out in a low voice “Listen to me. Don’t cause any trouble.”
Sophia wondered if Randall had any intention of enjoying the trip by being a little sociable.
Sophia replied with a sigh, “Yes.”
