- Chapter 53 - The Villainess’ Beloved Plan: The Struggles to Avoid a Doomed End Chapter 53
When Sophia woke up, she was in a strange room.
She knew she was on a bed when she felt the softness on her back, but she did not recognize the wooden ceiling. She tried to get up, but failed because she felt as heavy as lead.
“Are you awake?”
She heard a voice nearby and turned her head to see D’Artano.
D’Artagno got up, walked over to Sofia, and put his hand on her cheek.
“You are still feverish,” D’Artagno said.
“I carried you to the inn, but you didn’t wake up when I called you, so I was worried. Can you drink some water?”
Sophia nodded, and D’Artagno handed her a glass of water from the pitcher.
With D’Artagno supporting her back, Sophia sat up, slowly drank the water from the glass, and exhaled heavily. She was thirsty and could feel the water flowing through her body.
D’Artagno refilled her glass, and after finishing the second glass, Sophia looked around the small room. It was a small room with low ceilings and only a bed and a small table. From outside the window, she could hear people’s voices. D’Artagno said it was an inn, but is this the town of Rivadel he was aiming for?
I’m supposed to meet up with someone here, but he’s been busy with some things. He’s running a little late. How are you feeling?”
“I’m fine.”
My body is extremely heavy, but I don’t feel bad, probably because I was resting. However, from the top of my head to my toes, my whole body felt sticky, rough, and uncomfortable. It was only natural, since I had been unconscious until I woke up after soaking in the seawater, but I want to bathe in the water and change clothes as soon as possible. But, of course, I don’t have a change of clothes with me, so I wondered what to do.
When I looked at D’Artagno, I saw that his whole body was refreshed. His clothes were different, too. I wondered if he had used the hot water and changed his clothes first. I envied him.
Sophia stared at him, and D’Artagno tilted his head.
“What do you want to eat?”
“No, I’m not hungry.”
She was certainly hungry, but above all she wanted to change her clothes. But Sophia was penniless. Would it be presumptuous of me to ask to change my clothes? No, but it is a natural desire. Even D’Artagno would not want to walk around with a messy, soggy woman.
Sophia opened her mouth to ask for a hot bath and a change of clothes, but then stiffened when the door suddenly slammed open.
“Sorry I’m late.”
The man with shoulder-length silver hair laughed in a tone that made it sound as if he didn’t feel bad at all.
‘You must be kidding’
Sophia’s eyes widened.
Cyril Verhund – the first prince of Verhund, one of the targets(Main characters) of “Glastona’s Snow” – was there.
‘Wait a minute. What’s the connection between D’Artano and Cyril? D’Artano is not supposed to be a righteous pirate yet, and a pirate and a prince know each other. ……’
Sophia was mildly confused by the sudden appearance of the third target of the attack(main character).
D’Artagno is a pirate. Cyril is the first prince. D’Artagno, who is not a righteous pirate, is supposed to be in a position of being pursued by Cyril, who is royalty. Why were they chatting and laughing together?
However, it would be very bad if Sophia found out that D’Artano and Cyril knew each other. But what kind of response should I give? I was stunned. Cyril turned his purple eyes toward me and twisted his head.
“Hey,” he said. but this girl isn’t the one I asked for, right?”
“This,” he said, “is a greeting.”
Sophia was disgusted, but Cyril looked at Sophia’s entire body and then let out a deep breath.
What’s this messy, pathetic woman? What a mess! Couldn’t you have found someone better?
Sophia, who has been playing the game for a long time, knew what he was talking about, but he was still a foul-mouthed prince. He looks like a prince among princes, but when he opens his mouth, this is what he does. Of course, he changes his attitude depending on the person he’s talking to – he’s a cat, so there’s no doubt that he’s a perfect prince from the outside. But – perhaps because he thinks that Sophia, who is in front of him, would never know that he is a prince, he has been showing his true colors from the beginning. His personality is a bit twisted, and he crosses his arms and looks around at Sophia impudently.
“I thought I told you to prepare a beauty that would shut everybody up.”
“Now she’s like this, but Miss Sophia is a beauty.”
‘I don’t know if that’s a compliment or a mockery, “like this now.” ……’
Sophia’s shoulders slumped in disappointment as she no longer felt like refuting him. It is true that Sophia’s whole body is a messy sludge right now. She doesn’t understand why she would want to say, “Oh, no.” (I’m not sure if this is what she meant.)
‘By the looks of things, the debt D’Artano was talking about, which he wanted to pay back threefold, involved Cyril. ……’
My bad feeling was right. I don’t know what on earth they want me to do, but this is a bit tricky. Because Cyril is the target of the attack(a main character) and Sophia is the villainess. Somehow, D’Artagno is not critical of Sophia, but there is the example of Randall. Randall is very sweet on Keira, who is essentially the heroine, and is the exact opposite, very harsh on Sophia. It is hard to say that Cyril is not the same. Although Keira is not here, we must be on the lookout for her.
Sophia swallowed hard and asked fearfully,
“So, what exactly do you want me to do, ……?”
She asked D’Artagno, feeling that he could do better than Cyril, but it was Cyril who answered, “I don’t know if I can use you.”
“but you have to to pretend to be my lover. Okay?”
Cyril let out a breath.
“I can’t go into details yet, but I’m about to be engaged to a woman. I want to break it.”
Sophia’s eyes widened.
‘Is this, by any chance, Cyril’s route?’
