The doorbell suddenly rang startling Xia Yuxun’s heart. After all, to run into anyone here would be very troublesome.
Ou Mingxuan walked over to open the door in a relaxed manner. He took over the stuff from the service staff and then came back in.
“Clothes?” Xia Yuxun saw the athleisure style clothes in Ou Mingxuan’s hand and quickly rushed forward.
Halfway into taking off her bathrobe belt, she suddenly remembered there was someone in the room and she quickly stopped moving.
Ou Mingxuan watched her with his chin stuck out, “Why aren’t you continuing?”
Xia Yuxun’s face turned red, “Senior, can you please be a good person until the end? In our next lives, I can be your bull or your horse. I promise-”
“Enough. Look at how pitiful you look!” Ou Mingxuan very cooperatively turned his body around.
Xia Yuxun finished the sentence she was going to say; in our next lives, I will your bull or your horse and I will pull up grass to feed you!
By the time Xia Yuxun arrived at her office, she was three whole hours late.
The atmosphere at the office today is a little unusual today. Everyone was looking nervous as if they were expecting their nemesis.
From afar, she heard a crashing sound coming from the director’s office that was at the end of the hall. Then, she watched as the normally high spirited VP of Marketing walking out of the corner office. His legs looked weak as he walked out.
“Xia Yuxun! Xia Yuxun you finally came! Quickly come over here!” Assistant Annie excitedly called her over in a low voice.
Xia Yuxun quickly moved over to find out what’s going on, “Annie, what happened? Manager Wang, he…”
Annie glared at her, “How do you find the energy to care about if others survive or not! You are about to lose your own life!”
“Ugh, no way… though I am late, I remember that our boss has no travel plans this morning…” Xia Yuxun nervously pushed the pair of black frames that covered almost half of her face up her nose bridge.
Her official position is the boss’ bodyguard. But she was basically his attendant. Other than having to accompany him when he is out, she doesn’t need to do much else. If she is late, at most, she gets some of her salary cut. Why would she be killed over this?
Annie responded in an annoyed tone, “Are you blind! Couldn’t you tell things were different on your way here? Boss is in a horrible mood today. He can burst into flames without being ignited. Yet there you are, coming over when it’s almost time to get off work. Aren’t you basically running in the direction of the shooting gun? Don’t blame me for not warning you. Director Leng has asked for you many times this morning. This time, you are more likely to encounter misfortune than fortune…”
Before she could finish, the office phone’s internal line rang. Annie rushed over and was too afraid to waste a single second, she answered, “Yes… yes… she is here. Yes!”
Annie hung up and looked over to her pitifully as if looking at a dead person, “Director Leng has asked for you.”
Xia Yuxun felt her back getting cold from Annie’s stare. “The boss isn’t going to give me trouble because of something this trivial right?”
“You have strong limbs, yet your mind is so simple! Those who are ignorant sure are fearless!” from the other seat, Qin Feili spun around in her chair, then looked over to Xia Yuxun with a mourning expression.
“You are the ignorant one!” Xia Yuxun casually pushed her chair. As Qin Feili aggressively spun on her chair, Xia Yuxun walked over to the director’s office fearlessly.
Qin Feili was dizzy from the spinning and almost puked, “What a ferocious woman! I hope she does not return from her trip!”
Xia Yuxun inhaled deeply and then walked over, shaking. She knocked on the door twice with her quivering hand.
She stepped forward, and before she realized what was happening, she felt a tightness around her arm, then her body was dragged inside by a powerful wave. Then, her back was slammed heavily against the wooden door.
Next, along with a “click”, the office was locked from the inside and the aura of danger blanketed the room.
