There’s A Bug In Me - Chapter 41
Chapter 41: Village Head, Why Don’t You Play By The Rules?
The players on the scene had experienced at least five novice tutorial games, and they were not rookies who didn’t know anything. Players who wanted to get a good ranking would always make some preparations before entering the game.
No one had ever heard that on the first day of the Evolution Island game, there would be monsters attacking the city!
“It may have something to do with the plot during the day!”
Experienced players soon thought of the scene in which the villagers went out to disperse the poisonous fog during the day.
“Come on, find the village head, there must be a mission to defend the city!”
Many people were regretting that they did not receive the task during the day. When they saw the monsters attacking the city, they cheered up one after another.
Where there were monsters attacking the city, there would be the task of defending the city. It was an old routine!
Although it was a village this time, the routine was still the same!
Many players ran quickly to the old village head, and the old village head was indeed issuing tasks to guard the village.
“Brave adventurers, please help destroy the riot beasts, and guard Ogar. Villagers and I will reward you for it!”
The old village head spoke sincerely to every player who came to take the mission.
“Ha-ha, I got the job!”
“Let’s go and kill the monster!”
The players who received the mission were overjoyed one by one.
Chen Bing naturally came, but he was the one who watched the monster riot happen helplessly.
No one knew what happened to that piece of black meat. He only saw it melt into a faint puff of black smoke in front of his eyes and disappear, and then the monster came and attacked the village.
Brother, don’t be happy too soon, the villagers will really “reward you” by sending you a thank-you note!
Looking at the jubilant players who took up the tasks one by one, Chen Bing wanted to remind them.
However, it was obviously wrong to discourage others from doing tasks in this way, and Chen Bing certainly couldn’t do it.
Almost all the players who returned to the village early received a task, but the players who were still practicing in the field were not able to. Many of them had no time to escape and were torn to pieces by violent monsters.
“The monster is so strong!”
The players who received the mission formed a team outside the village to kill the monster, but when they had just started to fight with the monster, their hearts sank.
“No! Go back to the village, or we will die if we are surrounded by monsters!”
Generally, the players were less than level 10 and only a few people had a few pieces of equipment with them which couldn’t compete with the raging monsters.
After trying to fight with monsters, the players could not bear the attack, and they would be killed if surrounded properly. Even those organized guild players, after killing a few monsters, felt the danger and went back to the village one after another.
Some unlucky ones were surrounded by monsters before they could return to the village.
“The monster is going to break in!”
“Close the big wooden door of the village!”
The player retreated and the monster rushed in.
Seeing this, the old village head hurriedly ordered the door of the village to be closed.
The young hunters in the village boarded the few watchtowers in the village and attacked the monsters outside the village with bows and arrows, but to no avail.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
…
The sound of monsters crashing into the guardrail kept coming. Although the guardrail was made of solid wood, it seemed that the monster would break through the guardrail and enter the village at any time.
“What to do…the monster is too strong. The players are not capable of rivaling them, and non-player characters seem to be useless, I am afraid the village will be breached soon!”
“There’s nothing we can do about it. Everybody, go offline! Back to reality and then immediately log in online again. Although you will lose some time, it is better than death! If you are lucky, you will only lose half a day’s time in the game!”
Seeing that the monster was about to enter the village at any time, the players in the village had a strong sense of danger.
Although there were two or three thousand players in the village, they knew that if monsters rushed in, they would all die.
However, as players, they also had the big killer mace, which was going offline.
If they went offline, it meant that they would lose some game time, but it was definitely better than death at this moment.
Many players worried about the monster coming into the village; if that happened, they would be forced into the combat state and couldn’t go offline, so many players made a decision and chose to go offline.
The number of players in the village began to decline sharply.
With so many people missing all of a sudden, with the number still decreasing…and if the monsters rushed in, the players could not resist them at all.
Some players who were still hesitant or unwilling to leave could only sigh and leave.
The task was good, but it didn’t make any sense if they couldn’t complete it. It was a great loss to be killed.
In just a few minutes, two or three thousand players disappeared, and only a few players remained in the village.
“Village head, almost all the adventurers fled, and the village of Ogar is in danger.”
Chen Bing saw that the time was almost over. He walked up to the village head and spoke worriedly.
“Well, it seems to be the fate of our village to fight and die fighting with wild beasts. But even if we die, we will fight to the end!”
Seeing that the village was about to be destroyed by raging monsters, the old village head did not panic at all, but said something awe-inspiring.
Hey, aren’t you supposed to give me a mission now? It’s hard for me to cooperate with you if you don’t follow the routine.
There was no way…these non-player characters always ignored the manuscripts. Chen Bing could only brazenly recommend himself again.
“Well, village head, it’s too early to give up. As a matter of fact, I can deal with these monsters, but I need some potions to increase the power of defense and recovery, and as long as you can provide them, I can protect the village of Ogar from the monsters! ”
“Brave one, do you have a way?”
The old village head looked at Chen Bing suspiciously.
“Of course!”
“If it were someone else, I wouldn’t believe it, but if it’s you, brave one, I will believe in you! These are some potions put away in our village for a long time. I hope you can really protect the village!”
The old village chief thought for a moment, then took out a small box and gave it to Chen Bing.
“System: You got the “Prayer Potion”, quantity 2!”
“System: You got the “Regenerative Potion”, quantity 10!”
“Prayer Potion: A potion blessed by prayer. Damage increased by 50 and defense increased by 50. The effect lasts 5 minutes.”
“Regenerative Potion: A potion with a powerful healing effect that instantly restores 300 HP and will increase your HP by 20 points per second for the following 30 seconds.”
There were fully 12 bottles of potions in the box, and the effects were quite good!
Before the task was even completed, the reward was paid in advance.
However, Chen Bing did not continue to ask the village head for more rewards. He asked for these potions just in case.
If he could repel the monster that came to attack by himself, there was no doubt that the villagers’ affection for him would rise to the maximum.
If they could give any reward, they would certainly give it then, and even if he asked for more now, it was impossible to get anything better.
After all, this was just an ordinary village. If one wanted an extraordinary reward, one wouldn’t be able to find it here.
Chen Bing wanted to know what reward the village would give him after the last time when he only was rewarded with a gratitude note.
He did not believe that they would give him another “Certificate of Appreciation”!
