Chapter 29: My Wife Has A Bad Temper
Gu Xiang was the same way. She also lost her appetite whenever she was in a bad mood. No matter how much others tried to persuade her to eat, it would be to no avail.
She said, “Then take a rest. I’m going to shower.”
Now that she had finally reacted, she realized that she seemed to have been taken advantage of! In the past, Gu Xiang did not understand why some girls would be so silly to be taken advantage of by men that they had just met. Yet now that she had encountered a similar situation, she realized that men were all pigs.
He couldn’t be tricking her by acting, right? That’s too scary!
Just as she was about to leave, she heard Jiang Chi ask, “Do you cook?”
Hearing this, Gu Xiang glanced back at him. He had said that he was not hungry yet he asked if she could cook. She almost laughed at him. “Not really. But I can cook some noodles, I’ll make you some?”
Jiang Chi looked at her. “Mmh.”
He lived alone so his house was almost always empty. This was also the reason that he was not very willing to come home. He felt that his house was not a home.
Now that there was someone else, she would still show some concern to him when he was in a bad mood. Such a feeling wasn’t that bad!
Gu Xiang cut green onions in the kitchen. She often cooked when she was a child and her cooking skills were quite good. There was a helper at the Meng residence so she didn’t need to cook.
Children with mothers are actually rather fortunate. At least she did not have to do everything by herself like before.
She made a bowl of noodles and brought it out. She saw Jiang Chi leaning on the sofa with his elbow propped on the armrest of the sofa. He had his eyes closed, as if he were asleep. He looked like a painting. Under the shining light, his exquisite facial features became more defined.
Gu Xiang said, “Jiang Chi, time to eat.”
He opened his eyes and they seemed to contain the starry sky.
He stood up and walked to the dining table. He sat down and looked at the noodles that Gu Xiang had cooked for him. On the top of the noodles was an egg and some pieces of ham.
Gu Xiang asked, “Try it. My Mom makes better noodles. If there’s a chance, you can try…”
Gu Xiang paused.
Jiang Chi looked at her. “What?”
Gu Xiang’s eyes darkened. “Nothing.”
Although she knew that her mother did not dote on her, she still felt that she was rather funny. In her heart, everything that her mother did was for the best.
When she was younger, she loved the noodles that her mother made the most. Even now she still missed the taste. She had tried to make it before, but it wasn’t the same. What was she missing?
Jiang Chi tried it. “It tastes pretty good.”
Gu Xiang looked at Jiang Chi and said, “I’m sure you want to say that it isn’t.”
She knew that this Master must be very picky. Why would anything that she cooked taste good to him?
Jiang Chi said, “Not bad. I don’t have anything else to eat anyway.”
Gu Xiang felt her forehead pulsating. Why did I cook for him! I am seeking my own humiliation.
Why would a spoiled Master like him appreciate anything that she made?
She rolled her eyes at him. “I’m going to sleep.”
Then, she entered the guest room, shut the door, and never stepped out again.
Jiang Chi watched her leave. His wife had a bad temper and was rather impatient.
He looked at the noodles in the bowl. Indeed, it tasted nothing like what he was used to, but it was rather unique. He finished it right away.
