Gu Chen pulled the blanket from under Jian Sangyu and moved it over her chest. Then he adjusted the air-conditioner so that the wind could blow against the wall instead. She always liked to have the cold breeze blowing directly towards her as if having no idea that it would be very bad for her body. Same went for the fact that she kept hiding away those snacks and junk food without realizing that she had always been quite physically weak since she was little.
Jian Sangyu was very quiet after she fell asleep. She was fully curled up and laid on one side of the bed, leaving a very wide place for Gu Chen on the right side.
The way that Jian Sangyu slept was an interpretation of her lacking a sense of security. At night, she also had herself wrapped inside her own arms, presenting a posture of self-isolation.
It was a bed that had been divided into two sections in her heart, with one belonging to Gu Chen, her husband and the other belonging to herself.
Just as how they belonged to two different countries, she would never leap over the boundary she drew inside her heart even when she was asleep.
She would never allow Gu Chen to get so close to her. Nor would she allow Gu Chen to fall asleep with her in his arms or herself to sleep over his torso. Even after they finished the husband and wife thing, she would always go to her own territory after showering in the bathroom.
Gu Chen had always been aware that Jian Sangyu was a woman who lacked a sense of security and who was quite self-isolated. Therefore, she had been gentle and quiet as if she doesn’t exist. And he didn’t find anything to contradict that either.
But as he looked at Jian Sangyu now, Gu Chen couldn’t help but arch his lips. What a sneaky woman.
It had been a good sleep for Jian Sangyu, which she didn’t get very often. People were always happy when something good happened, so the moment she woke up, she was in such a good mood that she was not so upset about the snacks that were confiscated the night before.
She opened her eyes and found that the man next to her was gone. She let out a sigh of victory – this was the right way to start the day!
She hopped onto the bed delightedly, then jumped off the bed and went to grab her cell-phone from her purse with bare feet. She texted Mina and told her that she was going to pop round Mina’s company later.
After texting, Jian Sangyu grabbed a dress from the wardrobe and put it on. The dresses she disliked before were also disliked by her now. But it was alright, because from this day on, she was going to replace all those annoying clothes!
She was going to be a tremendously famous person in the future and she was not going to be dressed in the same style of clothes like an old aunt.
Having put on some makeup, Jian Sangyu hummed and walked out of the bedroom. But her good mood was interrupted as she reached the living room.
She felt the heavens collapsing when she saw the man who was supposed to be back with the team eating breakfast elegantly at the table.
“Gu Chen, didn’t you… go back to the team?” Jian Sangyu got so irritated inside the heart. It must have been a wrong start to the day so she ran into such a scene. Could she just go back to bed and try to wake up once again? In that way, she might have a correct start to the day.
“Who told you that I am going back to the team?” Gu Chen took a bite of the steamed bun. The bedroom door was not open yet he had caught every sound of Jian Sangyu’s cheering and laughter.
It had been quite pleasing for him to hear those sounds early in the morning.
Who told her about that? Her past experience, of course!
It had always been the tradition for Gu Chen to stay at home for one night before disappearing early in the morning the next day. What made today exceptional?
