To You Who I Yearn For - Chapter 23
Chapter 23: Husband’s True Identity, Part IV
Wan Jiabao, who had become crazy with anger and exasperation, rushed over to their table and snarled, “Tao Yaoyao, do you want to die?”
Tao Yaoyao fired back at him, “I’m not going to die even if you try to kill me.”
Wan Jiabao gritted his teeth. “Let me tell you, the Tao Corporation is doomed.”
Tao Yaoyao sneered at him. “So what if it’s doomed, as long as my dad doesn’t starve, I don’t care.”
She was anxious for the Tao Corporation to disappear. If that happened, her money-grubbing stepmother definitely wouldn’t give her father the time of day anymore. Then Tao Yaoyao would be able to bring her father and auntie home and take care of them properly.
As for the lives of other people, it was none of her business.
She looked at Feng Zhuo, who was sitting across from her. “Husband, would you like to take care of my father with me?”
Feng Zhuo enjoyed the starry-eyed look of admiration in Tao Yaoyao’s eyes. He raised his hand to pinch her small chin and stared at her deeply, “Is it necessary to ask? Of course.”
When Wan Jiabao saw their infuriating PDA, he became so enraged that he couldn’t stop rolling his eyes.
“You…Tao Yaoyao, don’t expect me to marry you!”
Tao Yaoyao didn’t care and pretended he didn’t exist. All her attention was on Feng Zhuo. “Husband, let’s go shopping later. Will you buy me some jewelry?”
Feng Zhuo acted very cooperative. “Okay.”
Wan Jiabao was gritting his teeth so hard he could barely speak. He grimaced from the pain. “Tao Yaoyao, you have fun with your boy toy. Remember, don’t come begging to me when you need something.”
Seeing that Feng Zhuo was so handsome, he really believed from the bottom of his heart that he was a boy toy living off his sugar mama.
Tao Yaoyao glared at him fiercely. “You’re a boy toy, and your entire family is full of boy toys.”
Wan Jiabao’s entire body started shaking, just as the waiter came to deliver his card.
He raised his finger and pointed at Tao Yaoyao rudely, as if to convey that time would tell. Then he left quickly.
Saying good-bye to him, Tao Yaoyao waved at him happily, “Bye, bye.”
Then she covered her mouth and laughed so much that tears of laughter were running down her cheeks.
Feng Zhuo didn’t think it was all that funny, but he was amused by her dramatic appearance. He smiled, and, under the soft lights, his cold eyes softened.
Tao Yaoyao suddenly raised her eyes and stared into Feng Zhuo’s eyes. She felt electrified.
His cold eyes were no longer as icy as usual. They had become tender, soft, and they even seemed to contain some doting affection… but it was only a fleeting glance.
She felt that it had been just an illusion.
How nice would it be if he wasn’t gay? But was he really gay?
Feeling displeased with being stared at, Tao Yaoyao bit her lip and asked Feng Zhuo directly, “Um, you like girls, don’t you?”
The random question caught Feng Zhuo off-guard, but he responded lazily, “What do you think?”
Uh!
Tao Yaoyao had originally thought that Feng Zhuo would either say no or insist that he liked girls.
Or he would act extremely aloof and give a cheeky response such as so what?
But why did he ask her what she thought about it?
Why not answer her directly? What did this mean? She was going crazy.
Was it possible that he was evading her question? He actually liked men.
When she had taken the initiative to throw herself at him, he’d remained indifferent.
So the real answer wasn’t that she had no charm, but that her gender was wrong.
He saw Tao Yaoyao’s unconcealed astonishment. Her face had a mixture of responses such as: Goodness, you don’t like women; you actually like men. Goodness, it’s not that I have no charm, but my gender is wrong. Feng Zhuo’s eyes narrowed, and once again he assumed an impassive expression.
