To You Who I Yearn For - Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Husband’s True Identity, Part VI
Feng Zhuo looked at her seriously and said casually, “When we get back to your house, I’ll add you on Weibo.”
“Huh? That’s more like it.” Tao Yaoyao was overjoyed, and she immediately brightened up. But something that would make her even more happy was awaiting her, because the waiter said, “Your bill has already been paid.”
Tao Yaoyao was astonished and a bit stunned as she left the Western-style restaurant with Feng Zhuo. When she got in the car, she blinked and looked at him accusingly, “You paid the bill.”
Halfway through the meal, Feng Zhuo had gone to the bathroom, but it wasn’t in the same direction as the cashier so he shouldn’t have been able to pay the bill.
“No, I didn’t.” Feng Zhuo started the car, stepped on the accelerator, and drove away.
Tao Yaoyao was baffled. “If it wasn’t you who paid, then who else would have paid it? It can’t have been Wan Jiabao, could it?”
Feng Zhuo smiled. “Or, maybe, it actually was him.”
“Huh? How could that be possible? If I’d known someone was going to pay for us, I wouldn’t have ordered nothing.” Tao Yaoyao smiled triumphantly, then said shamelessly, “The food there was delicious, but it’s too expensive. Someone actually paid our bill today, and I could have ordered food for nothing. I regret this, I regret it so much.”
After getting in the car, Feng Zhuo didn’t drive home with Tao Yaoyao directly, but instead went to a jewelry store.
Tao Yaoyao was puzzled. “Why are we at a jewelry store?”
After she’d asked the question, she panicked. Could it be that since he hadn’t spent her money on the meal, he wanted her to buy him jewelry?
“Didn’t you say that we would buy jewelry after the meal?”
When Tao Yaoyao saw the quizzical look in Feng Zhuo’s eyes, she knew that she had guessed right, and she looked wary. “I was just saying that to anger Wan Jiabao, and I said that you would buy me jewelry. Is it possible that you want to buy jewelry for me?”
Feng Zhuo nodded. “Okay!”
Tao Yaoyao thought she was hallucinating, and her eyes instantly lit up. “Really?”
“I saw a crystal ring here a few days ago. It was pretty nice,” Feng Zhuo said as he walked into the jewelry store.
Her heart had been full of expectations, but it immediately fell. She really thought he was going to get her a diamond ring, but it turned out he was only going to give her a crystal ring, which was worlds apart.
Tao Yaoyao’s mouth twitched. “What, a crystal ring? You’re so stingy. Diamonds are so cheap right now. A small diamond ring only costs a few thousand. I’m only going to be married to you for three months, but I’m still your wife. Yet, I only get a crystal ring. Stingy man, stingy, stingy, so stingy.”
Ignoring her whispers, Feng Zhuo grabbed her wrist and dragged her to the counter.
A senior salesperson smiled and walked over immediately. “Hello.”
Feng Zhuo tapped on the counter in front of him, where there was a ring visible.
Upon seeing this, the salesperson immediately took out the ring.
Feng Zhuo took it and whispered to Tao Yaoyao, “Give me your hand.”
When a handsome, suave man holding a ring tells a woman to give him her hand, it would inevitably make one think of the romantic scene in dramas where the male lead and the female lead were about to get married.
Tao Yaoyao hadn’t expected such a scene to suddenly happen to her. She felt a little flustered, and she stammered, “Give you my hand? Left…left hand…or right hand?”
Holding the ring in one hand and Tao Yaoyao’s left hand in the other, Feng Zhuo laughed lightly. “Since it’s a ring, of course it must be worn on the left hand.”
“Oh…” Watching Feng Zhuo push the ring on her finger, Tao Yaoyao looked dazed. The ring wasn’t too big or too small. It fit just right.
