Chapter 35: Time Rain Farm
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
While Yu Sheng’an looked at the demon-hunting spider’s head in front of him, he had a premonition that his castle could change its name to Skull Church very soon.
Yu Sheng’an—who was usually rather chill—couldn’t help but rub his forehead when he thought of that.
“You silly demon. You should have sent me a succubus. Why did you send a head to me? Am I supposed to use it as a fertilizer?” He grumbled secretly before tossing the demon-hunting spider’s head away and teleporting it to the warehouse. But he began to feel excited.
Kookie and Barlow’s reactions had proven that his thinking was correct.
He also realized that his thinking had been in a trap earlier.
Because of the Contract Divinity’s specialty, his current power had originated from summoning creatures.
He could use the power of the shrine to suppress the creatures that were below the semi-deity level and forced them to sign a contract. But that was all he could do.
He couldn’t summon those formidable semi-deities and those existences that were almost equal to the deities.
Resisting his summoning was a piece of cake at that level.
That was also the reason why he feared the Five Main Righteous Deities.
Compared to the direct offensive power possessed by the five of them, his power was undoubtedly extremely awkward!
Fortunately, it’s attitude, not aptitude, which determines one’s attainments in life.
He, who had a pure Blue Star’s cogitation and possessed an imagination that was completely different from that diverse world.
Otherwise, how else could he have done all that with the Contract Divinity?
Then, after altering the life-sharing contract, he suddenly realized that he could groom semi-deities even if he wasn’t able to sign contracts with existences above the semi-deity level!
There were quite a lot of demons in the abyss. He did not believe that he couldn’t groom a semi-deity or an even greater existence, out of so many of them!
Yu Sheng’an stood up from his deity throne as soon as he thought of that, and began to pace around in the hall as he pondered.
Since he had decided to groom them and then share their vitality, could this decision possibly be wrong?
After all, when life becomes endless, it would allow quite a big number of lowly demons to survive off of the vitality and the purpose of grooming them wouldn’t be achieved.
How about setting up a ladder system which would allow them to share the vitality within a certain limit?
No, no, no!
Yu Sheng’an quickly rejected the idea.
Setting up a ladder system was a good thing for humans who were rational beings as it could stimulate their enthusiasm. But when it came to the demons in the abyss, that would be up for a debate.
The underlying rule of the abyss was destruction.
They could only draw on their enemies’ strength and even knowledge, by destroying them and consuming their flesh, blood and soul.
The abundant vitality would make them act more and more unscrupulously. That was, in fact, a good thing.
This meant that they would dare to challenge existences that were more powerful than they were!
As he thought of that, Yu Sheng’an believed the current sharing mode was almost the best choice.
The life-sharing contract would increase all the contracted creatures’ survival rate. It was equivalent to increasing their fault tolerance rate and would only help them grow and develop better.
Of course, there could be other even better modes.
For example: the rank and yank system.
However, it would be better for him to observe for a while first before deciding to try those options!
After that, Yu Sheng’an’s consciousness returned to the Deity’s Hologram in the side hall of the Forest of Magic.
Yu Sheng’an stood up and walked out of the side hall.
He was about to go to the underground laboratory when he suddenly thought of something and decided to walk to the doors of the great hall.
When Yu Sheng’an got close, the heavy stone doors began to open gradually and Dandell was standing right outside. He said with a grave expression, “Your Excellency, you are making things very difficult for me right now.”
Obviously, he was talking about March’s incident.
Yu Sheng’an smirked, “I only asked for some mage apprentices in the first place. It is you who pushed all of them to me, and now you come here to lecture me because I’m giving you a hard time? Dear Lord Dandell, it’s fine to make use of me to get rid of your adversaries. But, it’s really disgusting when ‘you lead the life of a whore and expect a monument to your chastity.’”
A hint of embarrassment appeared on Dandell’s grave face immediately.
Yu Sheng’an smirked in his heart when he saw his reaction.
Those wily old foxes were always plotting when they conducted their affairs.
Little did he know the suppression of information and all his plotting was simply child’s play.
Actually, after that night that someone had tried to assassinate him, Yu Sheng’an had spent a lot of effort to sort out the power composition in the Queville Empire and guess who had wanted to kill him.
Who were the Conservatives?
And, who were the Blasphemers?
However, regrettably, although there were a few suspects, there wasn’t any actual progress.
However, during this process, he had overheard all the contents of the Willis Magic Plantation Federation’s meetings.
Well, nobody asked their servants to sneakily use the Internet Divine Skill to chit chat and kill time in the forum, right?
If Yu Sheng’an was still unable to guess Dandell’s motive after listening to the Willis Magic Plantation Federation’s discussions, he should really end his life.
“I am not interested in any of your schemes and plots, and you don’t have to test me repeatedly. I’m not interested in the power of the Queville Empire. I only care for one thing…”
Yu Sheng’an paused and looked at Dandell with a serious gaze “My source of elementium cannot suffer any losses, at all!”
Dandell, whose plot was unraveled by Yu Sheng’an, swiftly removed the embarrassment from his face and changed the topic as if nothing had ever happened.
“So, in this case, the mallow that Aileen came up with is real?”
“What do you think?”
“The only sample was really destroyed?” A tinge of nervousness flashed through Dandell’s face.
Yu Sheng’an gave him an “are you daft” look when he heard that.
Dandell said awkwardly when he saw that, “Winter will be here soon. If we could popularize the mallow in the whole empire, the people of the Empire, no, your source of elementium would suffer a smaller loss.”
“You don’t have to worry about that.”
Dandell felt rather awkward about the rebuttals. After a brief moment of hesitation, he said, “Esteemed Mister Ajaf, I apologize for my actions and I’ll promise similar incidents will never happen again. Apart from that, could I transfer half of the mage apprentices out please?”
He needed to transfer half of the mage apprentices to appease the plantation owners’ dissatisfaction.
“No problem.”
Dandell was taken aback. He didn’t expect the Internet Deity would be so easy to convince. It made him feel terrible, having all those excuses to convince him stick in his throat.
“I need a ‘Time Rain Farm’. I’ll release the people to you as soon as it’s ready.”
Yu Sheng’an’s words had befuddled Dandell right away.
“Time Rain” was an advanced form of time-based magic.
It had attached the concept of time onto the rainwater and could make the time on all living things go much faster within the rainfall zone.
That form of magic was frequently used in battle.
Once the rain fell onto the enemies’ troops, it could turn them into troops made up of old grandpas.
Dandell had never heard of the term “Time Rain Farm” before, but he could already guess the meaning of the term.
His expression became grave as he asked, “How big?”
Yu Sheng’an pointed behind him, “About the size of this microgravity farm will do.”
Dandell’s expression changed a couple of times before he nodded, “All right!”
Yu Sheng’an nodded and then turned around to go back to the great hall.
The heavy stone doors closed with a loud bang, shutting Dandell out.
Dandell heaved a breath of relief. Although the Internet Deity appeared to be rather rude in their conversation, he had actually given him plenty of leeway.
At least, his purpose had been achieved.
“Time Rain Farm? Aileen? Mallow?” Dandell murmured these three terms as shock flashed through his eyes.
The Internet Deity asking for Time Rain to cultivate crops could only mean one thing. The crops that he cultivated would no longer need to be cared for with wood-based magic.
In other words, he had created a new species.
He was indeed a deity!
As for Ajaf saying that the mallow was cultivated by Aileen? Dandell naturally didn’t believe it for a second.
She was just a mage apprentice, how could she have created a whole new species?
…
Just as Dandell was sure that the mallow had come from Ajaf, Aileen’s name had taken the peasants by storm on the Internet due to the mallow!
To them, not even the powerful mountain giant and the exciting protective revenge were as important as filling their stomachs.
Especially when winter was about to come.
