Chen Tianming looked in the direction he was pointing at and saw the back of a girl in simple work clothes. Her hair was tied up in a low bun, and her thin figure was busy working at the counter.
“What, did you lose interest in Zhou Qingyue and decide to pursue someone else?” Chen Tianming asked with a smile.
“No, take a closer look.” Jiang Bei then pushed Chen Tianming into the milk tea shop. Chen Tianming finally saw the milk tea girl’s face.
She was a cold beauty with slim and gracefully arched eyebrows. When she noticed him entering the shop, her bewitching fox-like eyes looked up at Chen Tianming. Together with her pink and tender cherry-red lips, she was breathtakingly beautiful, even without makeup.
She was Zhou Qingyue, the top school belle of A University.
Chen Tianming was stunned at her beauty.
Zhou Qingyue said calmly, “Hello, what can I do for you?”
Her clear voice pulled Chen Tianming back to reality. It also reminded him of that cold rainy night when he was forced to drink and was humiliated by those people. In the end, Zhou Qingyue supported his swaying form when he stumbled out. Her cold eyes were calm, and that clear voice said, “Hi, is there anything I can do for you?”
She was a good girl.
Chen Tianming suddenly didn’t want to stand beside Jiang Bei.
“A glass of lemonade.” Chen Tianming returned to the present and added, “Thank you.”
Zhou Qingyue politely responded, “You’re welcome. Please wait a moment.”
Chen Tianming nodded and went to the second floor of the milk tea shop with Jiang Bei.
“It’s like I said, she’s a bombshell, right?” Jiang Bei chatted with Chen Tianming excitedly. The rest of Jiang Bei’s posse burst into laughter.
Chen Tianming frowned, “Aren’t you increasing her workload by coming here with such a large group?”
He had noticed Zhou Qingyue’s fingers were slightly swollen from constantly being soaked in water. She seemed to be the only worker in this small milk tea shop.
“Come on, since when did our Young Master Chen start to care about the sufferings of the common folk?” Jiang Bei said sarcastically, and the rest of the guys started laughing.
“Aren’t you sweet on her? How can you bear to let her work hard?” Overcome with emotions, Chen Tianming asked.
“Nah, Tianming, I just want to date her. What’s there to overthink?” Jiang Bei laughingly said, and then he smacked his head. “But now that you mentioned it, I’ll make sure she resigns when we get together. I don’t want my woman to be a milk tea girl.”
For some reason, Chen Tianming felt sympathy for Zhou Qingyue.
However, since he’s reborn, he wouldn’t let Jiang Bei mess with her again.
After all, part of the villain’s role is to snatch the protagonist’s woman.
Chen Tianming sent a message to Zhang Ming, “Help me purchase the ‘First Love’ milk tea shop.”
Zhang Ming was bewildered and quickly replied through text.
Zhang Ming: “What’s this all of a sudden? Tianming, what’s gotten into you?”
Chen Tianming: “I don’t want Jiang Bei to bother the school belle.”
Zhang Ming: “So you want to be the one bothering her instead?”
Chen Tianming: “Get lost.”
Zhang Ming: “But I don’t like Jiang Bei either. You can count on me, Young Master Chen.”
Zhang Ming and Jiang Bei had always been at odds with each other. In his previous life, Chen Tianming was blind to make them get along.
Chen Tianming sighed; he was swamped.
He was so preoccupied with worrying about others that he hadn’t been able to enjoy his second life.
Soon, Zhou Qingyue came over with the lemonade.
Tianming thanked her softly.
Jiang Bei whistled and grinned. “Hey Qingyue, won’t the beauty of A University do me the honor of coming over to my birthday this week? If you come, we promise we won’t bother you at this shop anymore.”
Zhou Qingyue glanced at him indifferently and didn’t say anything.
She was about to turn and leave when Jiang Bei interrupted, “Don’t be like that.” He laughed, “You don’t want me to harass you every day, do you? Do me a favor.”
Chen Tianming was shocked by his shamelessness.
‘This kid is acting more like a villain than I am,’ Chen Tianming thought as he rubbed his chin and shook his head.
Zhou Qingyue paused and turned to Jiang Bei. “You mean it?”
Jiang Bei nodded with a smile, “I do.”
Zhou Qingyue nodded, “Send the address to my phone.”
“Jiang Bei, I hope you keep your word and stop pestering me,” Zhou Qingyue coolly said and left.
Jiang Bei rubbed his chin and smiled. He waited until she was far away before muttering, “B*tch, acting all chaste and too good for anyone.”
Chen Tianming frowned, “You honestly won’t pester her if she went to the birthday party?”
Before Jiang Bei could say anything, one of his lackeys smiled ambiguously, “No way, man! Jiang Bei has always been unscrupulous in order to achieve his goals. He always gets the girl he fancies, no matter what.”
Jiang Bei glared at the lackey, reproaching him for talking too much.
The lackey chuckled and didn’t say anything else.
Chen Tianming slowly finished his lemonade before he checked the time and said, “I have something to do in the afternoon, so I’ll be going. You guys have fun.”
Chen Tianming stood up and walked to the front desk. “The bill, please.”
“Sir, that’ll be 13 yuan.” Zhou Qingyue was straight in her business and only counted Chen Tianming’s drink, which coincided with Chen Tianming’s intentions. He wouldn’t let that scum get a penny from him.
Tianming took a 20 yuan note and his name card from his wallet. He lowered his voice and said, “Call me if they cause you trouble.”
“Here’s your change, 7 yuan.” Zhou Qingyue acted as if she hadn’t heard him and placed the name card and the cash in the drawer.
Chen Tianming didn’t say anything else. Since he had sent a message to Zhang Ming to acquire the shop, Zhou Qingyue would soon understand what he meant.
Chen Tianming held the cash she handed him and smiled. He stuffed them into the lucky cat piggy bank on the counter and left.
‘He seemed different from Jiang Bei and the others,’ Zhou Qingyue thought and glanced down at the black and white business card in the drawer. ‘Chen Tianming.’
The lackey who had shot his mouth off saw Chen Tianming paying at the counter and thought he’d paid for the group’s orders as well, so he couldn’t help but tease, “Chen Tianming is truly a walking ATM. Jiang Bei, can’t we tell him our plan?”
“Tell him my ass. Keep your mouths shut.” Jiang Bei looked at him coldly as he said, “He’s from a proper wealthy family; he can’t stand such shady methods.”
Jiang Bei impatiently looked at the time on his phone, “Alright, let’s leave after we finish our beverages. I have an appointment in the afternoon.”
“Oh, so who’s the pretty lady you invited to do the horizontal tango with you tonight, Jiang Bei?” The lackey said, and the others laughed along.
