Weed ~The One’s Gardener~ - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
“Because it’s not normal where I live. You said you called me here? Can you explain it so I can understand it? Is this common here? Were there many people like me? You look a little used to dealing with it.”
“No! It’s not common. How you have been called is definitely an ‘accident.’ Originally, the reason why guests are summoned from the other world is to solve the problems here, and in my judgment, you are not suitable to solve the problems. So, I would like to send you to the original place as soon as possible. And…”
The man kept his gaze still. Even though his handsome face was nice to look at, since he kept staring at her, she felt burdened.
As Hana averted her eyes again, he continued to follow her gaze and finished speaking.
“…It’s the first time we’ve ever had a conversation.”
“What’s wrong? I will help if I can.”
“It’s not that simple.”
‘Not suitable for solving the problems.’
It wasn’t something to be very upset about. In fact, it was impossible for a single woman to display her special abilities in a place like this without familiar tools. It didn’t even seem like the man was ignoring herself as human to human.
It was just strange that he acted as if she didn’t even need to know what was going on. It wasn’t that she felt bitter, though it seemed that this side really ‘accidentally’ called a strange person.
‘It’s a mistake…’
It was a mistake. The person they really needed did not come, and such an insignificant person came. Besides, she thought that even if she had to curry favor, this person would be in trouble as well.
When Hana frowned slightly, the man who misunderstood the expression spoke in a slightly more impatient tone.
“Could you wait a little while we figure out a way? As I said before, we will make sure there is no shortage in the meantime. Do you have some spare time? Do you need to leave in a hurry?”
“No. Oh, don’t keep feeling sorry. I don’t want to burden you either. It’s a mistake… so you must find it troubling too.”
“…Not really.”
Hana laughed. It seemed like he was trying to tell her that it was no trouble at all, but she was a bit grateful for that.
“There is nothing urgent. I was originally on vacation. So, um, I think I can have about two months. I should be grateful. Oh, there was no rush. We haven’t even introduced ourselves yet. In the meantime, what should I call you?”
“My name is Weed.”
Weed…
Weed?
It was such a funny name. It was a drug. That was the only thing that immediately came to mind when she heard the name. At the same time, it was weird to laugh. Hana covered her mouth and tried to hold back from laughing.
“Weed. Then, please take care of me.”
“I will prepare the medicine you want. Would you like to have a meal before then? You have only woken up for a while, so please take it easy.”
“Oh, thank you.”
It was as soon as she was greeted.
Hana caught Weed, who was about to get up and leave immediately. She was surprised that she caught his sleeve, so she released it hastily while he looked back with his golden eyes wide open, quite terribly surprised.
“Well. Mr. Weed? Won’t you ask for my name?”
“…May I call you by your glorious name?”
“…I’m not that big of a person. My name is Shin Hana. The name Hana. Last name Shin. If not, then what were you going to call me? I’m going to stay with you for a while, it’ll be impolite.”
Of course, she said that it was obvious that she would be taken care of here though it was rude to receive only the name of the other partner and not even introduce herself.
In addition, Weed’s overbearing attitude began to feel more and more burdensome. He treated her as if she was serving a high-ranking person, yet in fact, just looking at their appearance, the splendid Weed was rather noble too.
“Oh, forgive, forgive me. It was never meant to be. Try to rest a little, Hana. I’ll have the food ready soon.”
‘…Looking at such a polite attitude, it doesn’t seem like it.’
Hana managed to stop him by pretending to jump off the bed when he was about to bow down.
Weed looked back at her again as he left the room. Each time their eyes met, she was so curious that his gaze was strange and blatant. Hana awkwardly waved her hand at him.
The jade-colored hair that hung over his back fluttered like a fancy cape. As soon as the door opened once and closed again, a loud voice came from outside. What was he saying so violently? Hana was a little tired from listening intently.
After making sure he was completely out, she climbed down from the bed and opened the far window.
The sky was getting dark in the evening. Just like the clichés often encountered by those who went to the different dimensions, Hana looked up at the sky, expecting that there might be two moons. However, contrary to expectations, nothing was visible in the blue-purple sky.
“There are so many things.”
She thought he’d been through all sorts of dirty things in her 30-year-old life, but it seemed that she was still a long way off.
Hana muttered nonchalantly as if it didn’t matter.
2. Uninvited Guest at Dawn
⌈Hana. I received the gift you gave me well. I think I know your pain. I feel much closer to you. ⌋
‘Crazy man! Stalker bastard! That was my last warning. I said I’d kill you…!’
⌈ What are you leaving so quickly? Where were you going alone? ⌋
‘How did you get in here? Are you really crazy? Do you want to die?’
⌈ I love you. Please accept my heart this time. ⌋
‘Please leave me alone! Disgusting! Get out of here!’
⌈ I love you, Hana. Shin Hana… If we die like this, we’ll be together until the end. Right? ⌋
‘Uwaaahhhhhh!’
She screamed and ran away, but to no avail. A person whom she was sick of remembering the face was chasing her.
She knew this was a dream. Even so, Hana ran away recklessly because of the desperate feeling that came from all sides of her.
She didn’t want to see that face, even if only in her dreams.
So, as she ran through her dreams, she pushed the face away from a tenacious pursuit. She’d rather be chased by a headless man. But even after the head fell off, as she watched the body chasing her, she remembered something even more terrifying.
A dented car, blood flowing in it… and in the distance, a round thing that fell far away…
“WAAH!”
As soon as she saw something terrible in her dream, Hana woke up. And the moment she tried to catch her breath, she couldn’t help but scream.
“Kyaak! What, what? Get away!”
Golden eyes glowed in the darkness.
…Did wild beasts come in? It was like the eyes of a hungry beast. When she hurriedly pushed the beast from above her with her hands and raised herself up, her palm touched something sharp and cool.
Stab.
She was stung by it. A sharp smell wafted in, and in an instant, her hands and elbows were damp.
“Ack, ah…!”
“Are, are you okay?”
A sharp feeling penetrated her, and blood gushed through the spot where the pain had passed. It seemed that she had been stabbed deeply by something.
As Hana groaned in pain, the other person hurriedly covered her hand. It was a warm, big hand. And this soft voice. He had just been introduced, but she knew it.
“Weed? Are you Weed?”
“Yes, yes, that’s right. I am Weed.”
Rip, riip.
The sound of fabric tearing came. Soon, a cloth was applied to her throbbing palm, and miraculously, the pain subsided immediately. The blood seemed to stop immediately.
“Are you very surprised? I’m sorry.”
Hana was speechless by him, who immediately bowed down and apologized. Meanwhile, Weed retreated a few more steps from the bed as she alone barely calmed her pounding heart.
“No, why are you here in the middle of the night… Oh, it’s dark. Can you turn on the light? I can’t see well.”
“Yes.”
