Chapter 21 Reaching a Consensus with Ororo
Three Bronze skills of combat, driving, and shooting. Tang Lin hesitated for a while before finally spending 150 Wish Power points to buy the driving skill. Shooting skill was out of the question. This was not America, where shootouts were daily occurrences. The
chances of Tang Lin coming into contact with firearms were very low.
Even if he transmigrated to another world, it was impossible for Tang Lin in his giant form to find a firearm that was suitable for him to use, so this skill was useless even if he exchanged it. Close combat skill looked good, but Tang Lin couldn’t use it for the same
reason.
In the real world, Tang Lin already had superpowers he could use, and the chances of him encountering a fight were very low. It was even less likely when he transmigrated. How would a huge form use combat skills on tiny people?
Combat skill offered very low value for money, so Tang Lin felt that he could save it.
On the other hand, driving skill was very useful. Thanks to the selfless contribution of the veteran comrade, Tang Lin was preparing to apply for a driving license during the summer vacation. As for the remaining 1050 Wish Power points, Tang Lin was prepared to save them and exchange them for a Gold skill the next time he transmigrated.
Through these two transmigrations, Tang Lin roughly had a concept of the classification of these skills. Bronze skills are skills that could be learned and trained. For example, the exquisite skills of the dwarves and the combat, shooting and driving skills of a certain veteran could be mastered through training.
Even the omnivorous nature of the Orcs was not a racial talent. Didn’t humans also have a man who stood at the top of the food chain? Everything he ate tasted like chicken and was yummy. Therefore, Bronze skills were abilities that Tang Lin could possibly master himself. Exchanging for it only meant saving the time it took to learn them.
From the Silver level on, they were considered special racial talents. It was impossible for one to learn them by themselves. However, the difference between Silver, Gold, and Dark Gold was not too clear yet. More information was needed in order to make deductions.
Tang Lin was lying on the bed pretending to be asleep. After his father had fallen asleep, he tiptoed into the toilet.
Taking out the white molded ball from his trouser pocket, Tang Lin realized that Ororo’s eyes were closed and her face was pale. This was a very serious situation considering that she was a black person!
Hurriedly, he dispersed the white ashes and set Ororo free. The Storm Goddess lay beside the basin, and had barely the strength to move a finger. Previously, her entire body was trapped in the white ashes, and it was difficult for her to breathe because she was
immobilized. If this had gone on for another hour or two, she might not be able to survive.
After lying down and resting for a few minutes, Ororo recovered a little strength. However, as soon as she sat up, she saw Tang
Lin’s face that was wrapped like a mummy.
Ororo was so terrified that her entire body was surrounded by lightning, like a frightened electric eel.
“Calm down!” Tang Lin whispered to Ororo.
Ororo looked around frantically and saw that she had left Berlin. Everything around her seemed so strange and shocking. Everything had become tens of thousands of times bigger. The cup that was bigger than a steamroller was exactly where she had been trapped previously. The tap beside her was like a ten-story tall building…
Could it be that she was brought to this giant’s house? Then where are my companions?
Ororo had been trapped in the cup right from
the beginning and thus she didn’t see the scene of Apocalypse being stomped into a two-dimensional image. Naturally, neither did she see the tragic scene of Psylocke and Angel turning into Psylocke patty and Angel patty. Otherwise, Ororo would have been so frightened that she would be screaming now. After all, she was only a teenage girl. “What are you?” Ororo said to Tang Lin in her heavily accented English.
Of course, Tang Lin wanted to keep Ororo as
his pet, but this request was not only difficult to translate, but it would also be easily rejected. After thinking about it, Tang Lin decided to take a roundabout approach.
He turned on his cell phone and searched for
a round before reading out the words one by one. “It was a misunderstanding. You attacked me first…”
Tang Lin meant to say that it was a misunderstanding before, and it was you mutants who threw the first punch. Now, we
can put all that behind us, but you have already been brought out of that world, so you
can either start to adapt to the life of a mosquito or you can cooperate with me!
In order to prove that he wasn’t joking, Tang
Lin even quietly opened the toilet door to allow Ororo to have a glimpse of Tang Zhanpeng, who was lying outside. So that she
would understand that Tang Lin wasn’t the only giant.
It took Ororo a long time to accept the fact
that she had left her original world. If such a
huge human and building had appeared on Earth, it was impossible for it not to have been discovered.
Although she didn’t trust Tang Lin, this
giant’s world was too terrifying for her. She wasn’t a real mosquito. Not only did she fly slowly, she also had a trail of sparks on her
flightpath. If she flew out like this, any giant would slap her to death.
Perhaps she would have a chance to meet a kindhearted giant who would be willing to help her regain her freedom. But what were
the odds? Ororo, who lived at the bottom of the ladder in Cairo, Egypt, knew very well
that her luck had not been good since she was a child.
She had only just met Apocalypse and thought
that she could attain new heights in her life,
but in the blink of an eye, she was kidnapped by the giant. Under such circumstances, homeless Ororo had no choice but to
the
cooperate with Tang Lin. “What do you want me to do?” Ororo asked.
Tang Lin smiled, and the bandage on his face
shifted, making him look ferocious and
terrifying.
This was the good thing about intelligent humans. If they could communicate, they could threaten and tempt others. Tang Lin had only transmigrated twice, but he had already learned this skill. Life indeed makes
one grow in the most unexpected circumstances.
With mixed emotions, a pact was made with
Ororo. Firstly, Tang Lin was responsible for ensuring
Ororo’s safety, while Ororo promised not to
run around to avoid being discovered by other giants.
Secondly, Tang Lin would provide the basic
necessities of life, while Ororo would provide the assistance of her superpowers to the best of her ability.
Thirdly, if the opportunity arose, Tang Lin
would send Ororo back to her original world. But before that could be done, Ororo would become Tang Lin’s subordinate, just like how she assisted Apocalypse.
There was no written contract for these three
terms above. It was purely an oral agreement. Whether or not it was adhered to depended on the moral standards of both parties. Tang Lin knew that Ororo must still be thinking of getting rid of him. It was just that she did not understand this world and did not the confidence to leave safely. This was not a big problem. Soon, she would realize that there was no choice other than to follow
have
him.
After reaching a consensus, Tang Lin did not trap Ororo in the white ash again. However, for safety considerations, he secretly separated a wisp of white ash and attached it
to Ororo’s white cloak. Tang Lin would know immediately the minute she tried to escape. After setting this insurance in place, Tang Lin
opened the pocket of his jacket and said to Ororo, “Come on in. I’ll get you a new home when I get home.”
