Chapter 3: First Experience of Becoming a Giant
Tang Lin still did not know if he had become a giant or if this world had shrunk relative to his size. The dwarves in front of him were probably the people who had summoned him.
Tang Lin quickly squatted down and took out his cell phone to take photos and videos. Regardless of whether a fire dragon would fly out and burn him later, he would take photos first to calm himself down. This was the cultural habit of modern people.
However, this action seemed to be too big. The resulting wind pressure blew these dwarves all over the place. The weaker ones even fell to the ground.
“Ah, I’m sorry. I didn’t do it on purpose,” Tang Lin apologized awkwardly.
However, as soon as he opened his mouth, many dwarves covered their ears and started rolling around on the ground. Clearly, they were injured by Tang Lin’s voice.
Tang Lin was helpless. He really did not expect life to become so frail after it shrinked in size. How could he communicate in this situation? If he spoke even a little bit louder, he would probably give these dwarves a concussion.
Just as Tang Lin was pondering how to talk to them in a low voice, he saw a gray-haired dwarf crawling to his feet and saying something loudly.
The voice was so soft that Tang Lin could only vaguely hear a few words. He opened the translation software and took a look… Oh no, there was no signal in the alternate world. The software had to be connected to the Internet in order to do voice recognition.
There was no way to communicate now. Tang Lin wondered if he should use the most primitive hand gestures to communicate with these tiny people, but he heard a faint beeping sound. When this sound came, the dwarves seemed to panic and they all looked at a certain spot.
Tang Lin followed their gaze and saw that the spot was a cave-like hole in the mountain wall. As the beeping sound became clearer, a group of fully armed monsters rushed out of the hole!
These monsters that rushed into the valley had pale skin, distorted and ugly facial features. They had various oil paints and scars on their bodies, and they looked extremely ferocious.
From the looks of it, they were clearly Orcs. They were the enemies that Tang Lin needed to deal with.
Tang Lin understood the situation now. No wonder the system said that the mission was extremely easy. These Orcs were like insects in front of Tang Lin.
All these thoughts only flashed in Tang Lin’s mind, it did not take long. At this moment, the Orcs had just rushed into the valley.
They did not look up and so did not notice Tang Lin, the towering giant. Instead, they roared and charged at the dwarves.
Of course, Tang Lin had to protect the dwarves, but how would he kill this group of Orcs?
The place was too narrow, and so it was difficult to stamp his feet without stepping on the dwarves. If he used his hands… It felt disgusting.
Tang Lin reached out and broke off a “big rock” from the surrounding mountain wall. This rock was slightly shaped like an awl and there were two crooked trees on it. Tang Lin did not fix it. He simply grabbed this rock and pressed it toward the Orcs.
Although these Orcs could run very fast, to the dwarves and to a giant like Tang Lin, they were not much faster than ants. With a stone pressed down on them, an Orc would become minced meat.
To be honest, it felt disgusting to the touch. The feeling of this Orc being crushed under the rock was like crushing a cockroach.
This sudden terrifying attack shocked the excited Orcs. It was only at this moment that they looked up and realized that there was such a terrifying giant in the valley. Previously, they thought that this huge black shadow was an oddly-shaped mountain.
The giant actually broke off the peak of the mountain and used it as a weapon, crushing them to death on the ground one by one, just like how the Orcs crushed ants when they were bored. The originally sharp rock was first dyed red with blood, then it was slowly smoothened out. Finally, mixed with flesh and bones, it became a weapon that terrified the Orcs.
In the few seconds that he was in a daze, Tang Lin had already crushed a few Orcs to death. However, compared to the hundreds of Orcs, this was an inconsequential quantity.
Such tragic deaths did not scare the Orcs. Instead, the remaining Orcs rushed towards Tang Lin even more fiercely.
The difference in height between the two was too great, so the Orcs could only attack Tang Lin’s feet. When those ferocious weapons landed on Tang Lin’s slippers, they only made shallow wounds. The Orcs who used blunt weapons like hammers fared even worse. When they hit the shoes that were made of elastic rubber material, they bounced back and ended up hitting their heads and bleeding.
However, these were slippers. There were many areas in Tang Lin’s feet that were unprotected. The Orcs made many small cuts on his feet with their weapons.
Although most of it was just broken skin and there was no bleeding, it was still so painful that Tang Lin stomped his feet.
Tang Lin looked at the wounds on his foot and roared angrily, “Damn it, die!”
The huge sound wave stunned the Orcs in a daze. Then, Tang Lin raised his leg and stomped hard. A series of popping sounds rang out, and a large amount of blood splattered from the soles of his feet.
Fortunately, the ground in the valley was relatively firm. Otherwise, the Orcs would have been stepped into the soil instead of being crushed to pieces. This stomp killed at least twenty Orcs.
Then, Tang Lin attacked from both sides. He grabbed a rock in each hand and smashed randomly, smashing more than half of the Orcs.
But the Orcs were too numerous to be killed. Soon more Orcs poured in from the mouth of the valley. Moreover, this group of Orcs had archers and began to continuously shoot arrows at Tang Lin.
Most of the arrows of the Orcs only hit Tang Lin’s trousers, like grass stalks stuck on them. However, Tang Lin also realized that these Orcs were really not easy to deal with. He was squatting now. He would be in trouble if he was accidentally shot in the eye by these arrows.
In addition, some Orcs had already bypassed Tang Lin to chase after the dwarves.
There were only forty odd dwarves, and more than a hundred Orcs. If they really fought, the dwarves would definitely suffer heavy losses.
Tang Lin knew that he could not continue to be passive. These Orcs were running around like insects. Although he was huge, he did not have any decent area of effect. He could not kill them efficiently.
Therefore, Tang Lin extended his palm to the dwarves.
At this time, there was no need for language communication. The dwarves all jumped onto Tang Lin’s palm. Forty dwarves filled Tang Lin’s palm just nicely. Then Tang Lin stood up, withstanding the attacks of the Orcs on his feet, and carefully placed the dwarves in the pocket of his coat.
The pocket of his coat was big enough for these dwarves to squeeze inside. Not that he was without any worries, Tang Lin sneered at the group of Orcs who were still shouting.
“I’ll let you cut off my feet! I’ll let you shoot my pants!”
Tang Lin’s hands began to work vigorously on the surrounding high mountains. Countless rolling stones, sand, and various trees rolled down. This was a man-made mudslide that covered a large area, leaving these Orcs with no place to hide.
