Chapter 20 – Part 1
Rizbeth’s lips twitched as she recalled their conversation a few days ago.
She was wondering if Elysia could be a prophet.
Because Elysia had a mysterious image around her, Rizbeth began to think something unimaginable.
Rizbeth was curious as to Elysia’s purpose.
What was Eden for Elysia?
How could Elysia be confident in her assurance that Duke Valtine wouldn’t catch them.
Previously indifferent toward Elysia, Rizbeth soon at one point became curious at what she was doing.
However, Rizbeth didn’t poke her nose into Elysia’s business.
Which was why Rizbeth was able to win Elysia’s favor.
Someone with sense.
That was the type of person Elysia liked, and Rizbeth was such a one.
“I am really alright.”
Elysia was the eldest daughter of the Duke.
She only had one younger sister, Ariel.
Elysia began to think about what it would be like to have an elder sibling… She never had one.
She instead cursed at her father, the Duke, for having such thoughts into her head.
The more Elysia talked with Rizbeth, the more she felt a ‘what if’ question rise within her. If she were to have an older sister, would that sister be similar to Rizbeth?
It was a meaningless exercise.
“This is the fifth time you told me you’re fine.” (Rizbeth)
“Then doesn’t that mean that Sir asked me the same question five times?” (Elysia)
“No. I’ve asked My Lady seven times. Twice you pretended you didn’t hear me.” (Rizbeth)
“Sir, do you hold grudges?” (Elysia)
“I’m not sure.” (Rizbeth)
“Please be honest.”(Elysia)
Elysia smiled.
She then sneakily snooped beside Rizbeth.
Rizbeth knew that Elysia meant to open the door.
Rizbeth’s expression began to be more grim.
“I will keep asking you the same question.”
“I’m having fun talking to you recently.”
“I don’t mind this (them talking), but I don’t like repeating myself.”
Rizbeth meant to listen to her the first time she said it.
Elysia smiled more brightly, acting like she didn’t know.
Meanwhile, Rizbeth’s worries continued to deepen.
Elysia was sensitive whenever she was tired.
She knew it well about herself.
Because Elysia knew it herself, whenever she was feeling tired, she would often smile more and pretend to be more cheerful.
She was already used to it.
And everytime she did it, Rachel would nag at her and Ariel would whine less.
And with Rizbeth’s direct concern for her, she was trying hard more than usual.
“Eung…”
Eden’s murmur could be heard from the bedside.
At a certain point, whenever Elysia visited Eden, she would always find him sleeping.
Though, Eden would immediately wake up from his slumber the moment she arrived.
Like a habit, he would rise immediately.
Elysia soothed her tired eyes and glanced at the tray.
Eden ate only half of his meal.
As Elysia observed Eden, she noticed that Eden was often sleepy and had a low appetite.
Elysia thought Eden was not child-like.
To confirm, Elysia asked Rizbeth if Eden had lunch and dinner.
To which Rizbeth replied ‘No.’
Elysia began to worry how Eden could endure the day eating so few.
Elysia also began to suspect that the rumbling she previously heard was his stomach.
“Elysia…”
As Elysia intently stared at the tray, she heard Eden’s cracked voice.
Elysia turned her head and replied,
“Are you awake?”
Today, Elysia welcomed Eden with a friendly face.
Eden looked at Elysia sitting on his bed, and he couldn’t help but blush at the sight as he sat on his knees.
Unsure what he really felt about Elysia, what he knew was that he liked it whenever Elysia got closer to him.
The same goes for right now.
Eden liked the way Elysia approached him.
On the other hand, Elysia had a serious face.
Elysia had made up her mind to talk to him today.
Soon, Elysia and Eden were sitting on the bed, face to face.
The last time she tried, it was a complete failure, but not this time. Elysia had no plan to back down so easily.
Eden’s smile diminished as he saw Elysia’s eyes.
Just as Elysia was confident in controlling her expression, she made a mistake at that moment.
Elysia was unaware of her mistake and recited the words she prepared.
“Eden. I won’t scold you for sleeping a lot, that’s understandable.”
A shadow fell across Elysia’s tired face.
Her expression was distorted out of her concern for Eden.
If a stranger looked at her, they would avert their gaze in surprise.
“However, you still have to finish your meal.”
Eden was still growing, yet he was eating less.
Elysia was worried about Eden’s eating habits.
“Is the food not to your liking?”
Even Elysia couldn’t understand Eden’s eating habits and so she badgered him.
