Chapter 1. The Heron prince
Tick tock tick tock.
In a quiet room. Only the granfather clock, trimmed with high-quality wood, was running at a constant speed. And there was a boy lying in a gold and white insignia.
The boy, who just turned 12 years old, was named Judas Ruvarsan Archidion.
He was crown prince of the three princes of Ruvarsan.
The precious silver hair and gold eye, indicating that he is the blood of the emperor, were the only colors inherited to him among the three princes.
It was Ruvarsan, which valued ability and symbolism before age, so he has been attracting attention since he was born due to his excellent natural extroversion.
However, contrary to what was given, he used to make people worried by his weak body and gentle temper.
In particular, because he was born weakly, his body size stopped growing at some point, and his skin was abnormally white and pale.
In addition, he looked like a well-made doll because he barely opened his mouth and had no movement like a moron.
Thus, the first prince did not ascend to the position of crown prince until after an appropriate age.
Long hair and skinny limbs soaked in cold sweat made the prince look more tender and weak.
Apparently, he was small enough to look like he was 7 years old, not his original age, 12 years old and his personality was delicate, so naturally more people viewed the prince unfavorably.
The result of the emperor’s concern was ‘Ruvarh Academy’. This was a talent development academy where all children, from aristocrats to royalty, took exams and studied before the coming-of-age ceremony.
As the first international institution created by the Ruvarsan Empire, it was name as the academy Ruvar-h. **
Politics, economy, strategy, geography, even pharmacy and magic could be handled and learned and competed here. If one faithfully engages in education, they get rewarded by their talents. It filters out natural talents and makes them shine, and tells them what they are lacking through education.
This was the last resort the emperor decided for his eldest son.
But.
“……Could he possibly be sick again?”
“He is a very weak person.”
“The situation is.. so it might have been hard to bear.”
First Prince Judas did not have a good reputation either. The quiet attitude and a body smaller than his age made it difficult to get along with children of similar age.
There was no direct bullying, but he was already a loner in the academy.
The first prince, who could not even form his own party, was only given a poor reputation. There were also a lot of people who thought the crown prince’s position is irrelevant to him already.
No wonder, Judas, including what he is doing now, often fainted and was not able to not attend classes for days. The body that didn’t grow well was even infirm.
At first, many children were interested in the status of first prince, but after two years of admission with no significant results, their interest wasn’t responded, and his position gradually decreased.
Even the birth mother of him had already died, so he did not have any maternal forces. The only things that returned to the sick, incompetent prince, who just hunkered down no matter what anyone says, were cold treatments and neglect.
There were rumors in the academy that he is a terminally ill man and a disabled child who couldn’t open his mouth like a mute.
Cleanliness was important even if its master was down; the maids that finished cleaning neatly gave him a sympathetic look.
“But it’s already been two days since he fainted, and yet no one’s coming to see him.”
“The Heron Prince…….”
“Shush. Somebody might listen.”
The Heron Prince.
It was also a nickname that meant the noble silver hair, which symbolized the legitimacy of the emperor, but it was also mixed with the meaning of teasing by comparing the appearance of falling apart from the group with an heron.
A ridiculous enough nickname, though they cannot dare to persecute the first prince of the empire.
The murmuring maids walked out of the room.
It was then that Judas’ fingertips flinched in the silent insignia.
Closed eyelids as if they were dead, trembled and soon slowly revealed the hidden golden eyes. The golden eyes, still half asleep and out of focus, turned to the ceiling.
“……?”
He dazed and smoothed his neck with his small palms. The cough that had been coming out of his throat as it was going to murder him had completely stopped from his smooth neck without any wrinkles.
Although his body was weak, the recent days he remembered were more weak and painful than this, so it was rather refreshing.
Judas slowly picked himself up.
Drag
He opened the insignia and put both feet on the carpet. Then realized something was even more strange. Judas raised his hands and looked down, and soon alternated between the ceiling and the floor.
“This place is……?”
Judas, muttering to himself in wonder, narrowed his shoulders and smoothed his lips. Instead of a rough, cracked touch in memory, the soft, soft lips of a young boy touched his fingertips.
Judas tilted his head slightly like a man out of his mind. In line with the movement, long silver hair flowed down the shoulder.
“Huh-“
Soon the little boy heard an unsuitable sigh.
At the end of Judas’s gaze was a tabletop mirror that reflected himself. He burst into laughter one after another at the clear reflection without having to go close.
“Haha, this old man is finally dreaming.”
From noble long silver hair that seems unlikely to exist in the world, golden eyes, to the flesh of a child who has not grown properly on white and pale skin.
Judas Ruvarsan Archidion, the first prince who succeeded the direct lineage of the Ruvarsan emperor, no, not that name now.
Though the appearance was identical, thy who’ve worn the appearance was no one else but
The great sage who recently passed away ‘Yigret’.
***
Yigret, who is now living as the body of Judas, looked into the mirror for a while, not knowing what happened.
He had lived his life as a great sage person all his life, but he had never experienced or heard of anything like this.
There is only one life for a man.
Unlike spirits that do not grow old, humans grow old and die sick with age. It was simply natural providence.
Yigret, who dealt with all four elemental spirits and had the power, wisdom, and all of them, did not bear the weight of time.
Not even a 100 years he had lived, yet closed his eyes for the last time after a 92-year-old life.
That’s what happened, obviously.
“It is indeed very difficult. Maybe I possessed by the body of this young one……?”
As his usual habit, he dabbed his leg with his hand while resting the opposite on his chin.
The golden eyes in the mirror were facing himself with a clear glow.
He smiled awkwardly at the unfamiliar feeling he had never felt in his life.
“Oh mine own gosh. It feels like having a ghost in front of me. Haha.”
Raising the opposite hand he rested his chin, easily clenching his fist and spreading it out, a fresh wind blew in it.
Whooing.
His long silver hair fluttered around in a sudden gust of wind. What appeared above the palm after a gust of wind was a spirit in the form of a girl with small wings.
……Yigret!
The Spirit with his light green hair in two long braids, flew up with a bright smile and clung to his cheek.
Judas smiled softly at the spirit’s attitude of being sincerely glad and even tearful .
“You recognize me, Yuni.”
Of course, it’s my ‘Yigret’.
Numerous winds gathered around Yuni. The room was filled with freshness in an instant.
The spirit that wind obeys, the spirit empress of anemo, Yuni’s delight soon followed her will and produced a pleasant wind.
I promised to be by your side no matter what. I’m glad you called me back.
“…….”
Yigret.
Uni kissed his cheek and whispered.
Shes a form of a girl small enough to put on the palm, but the force she posses is one of the four attributes of nature.
A spirit king who could control natural phenomena at its will was never a being who could be handled carelessly.
Judas felt deeply grateful to Yuni, the spirit king, who followed him without hesitation even though his appearance changed.
Though he was a great sage, to the spirits of the nature, it wouldn’t have had any meaning.
She just remembered the oath they shared on a young day and answered the call. For the spirits, “Yigret” was just “Yigret.”
It felt like being fully recognized himself. At the warm hospitality, he smiled like a old man and shook his head slightly.
“Being friended you has been a lifelong source of pride to me.”
Don’t talk like it’s over. Fool, Yigret. I will continue being your friend for good.
“……Thank you, Yuni. By the way. I’m sure…… I bethought I wast dead.”
Judas raised his tiny hand and wiggled.
Without any connection, it was a face he’s never seen before. However, in light of the unusual hair color and eye color, he had an idea.
He took a handful of fluttering silver hair and glanced it over.
