You Are My Rare Passion - Chapter 27
Chapter 27: If You Want To Blame Someone, Blame Me
Although she knew that she was the Jiang family’s adopted daughter now, she hadn’t known before she was 16 years old.
Before she turned 16, she had been raised by Jiang Zhengxing and Xu Yanlai as their biological daughter.
Old Master Jiang had thought that Jiang Siyou was Ye Xingbei—his eldest son’s daughter. With Old Master Jiang watching carefully, Jiang Siyou and Xu Yanlai didn’t dare to treat her badly.
To hide the truth of them switching Ye Xingbei and Jiang Siyou, the couple was even nicer to Jiang Siyou than their three biological children.
At least, that was how it looked from the surface.
That was why Jiang Siyou had been pampered dearly while growing up in the Jiang family—no one dared to raise a finger against her since she was young.
However, Xu Yanlai didn’t even let her explain herself before giving her a tight slap just now.
Her cheek became sore from the slap. She covered her face and looked at Xu Yanlai in disbelief.
The affectionate look that Xu Yanlai had directed at Ye Xingbei disappeared at once. Xu Yanlai chased after Jiang Siyou with a grim look on her face as she slapped the latter on both sides of her face. Xu Yanlai scolded loudly in anguish, “Jiang Siyou! Why aren’t you kneeling down to apologize to Bei Bei?! That year… If you didn’t believe foreign rumors and assume that Bei Bei gave birth to a child as a teenager, how could your father and I be so angry as to drive Bei Bei out of the family and cause her to suffer so much outside?”
The more she spoke, the more heartbroken Xu Yanlai became and she started wiping off her tears, “My pitiful daughter! She was hurt by you; she couldn’t return home at such a young age and had to suffer so much out there! Your father and I treated you very well all these years. How could you bully our Bei Bei like so? Why haven’t you kowtowed and apologized to our Bei Bei yet?!”
Jiang Siyou looked at Xu Yanlai in disbelief as her gaze filled with despair.
Was she still her mother?
Her mother had given her up so easily and pushed her out to become the scapegoat?
Yes.
That year, she had been afraid that the biological daughter Ye Xingbei would snatch away her position as the foster daughter, so she framed Ye Xingbei on purpose.
But that was also because of Jiang Zhengxing and Xu Yanlai’s silent acceptance.
Even though she didn’t know why Jiang Zhengxing and Xu Yanlai were so heartless towards their biological daughter—yet treated her, a foster daughter, that well—she was very happy.
She guessed that it was because she had been raised beside Jiang Zhengxing and Xu Yanlai at a young age and thus, they had feelings for her.
Furthermore, she was smart, adorable, witty, beautiful and silver-tongued; she was much more charming than Ye Xingbei.
While Ye Xingbei had been stranded outside since she was young and had had a fair share of hardships. Having such a stupid and unsophisticated daughter like her was more than enough to embarrass Jiang Zhengxing and Xu Yanlai!
She had thought that Jiang Zhengxing and Xu Yanlai disliked Ye Xingbei because they found her humiliating so they cooperated with her to chase Ye Xingbei out of the house.
But what about now?
Originally, this was what the three of them did together—even Jiang Lingyu and her two younger brothers had agreed to this affair.
But right now, they were pushing her out to be the scapegoat—to let her bear all of the burdens!
Was she still the mother who had loved her so dearly?
“What are you looking at?” Xu Yanlai was hiding her own secrets in her heart so she felt both apprehensive and furious. She threw another ruthless slap on Jiang Siyou’s face to vent her inner feelings of dread and anxiousness. “Hurry up and kneel down to apologize to Bei Bei! Beg Bei Bei to forgive you!”
Jiang Siyou was scared of being hit once more, so she knelt down towards Ye Xingbei with a “plonk”, crying bitterly, “I’m sorry, Bei Bei. It’s all my fault; this has nothing to do with Mom and Dad. It’s all because I believed the rumors of horrible people outside and went home to tell them about it. This made Mom and Dad mistakenly think that you had given birth to that child, so that they would kick you out of the house. Wu wu wu… It’s all my fault. It has nothing to do with Mom and Dad, so don’t blame them. If you want to blame someone, blame me…”
