Chapter 54: The Mistress Was Her?

Chi Huan had thought he wouldn’t agree to sleeping on the floor, but he didn’t say anything. He stayed in the study till almost eleven o’clock and then took a shower. After the shower, he made his bed on the bedroom floor.

The light was off. It’s bedtime.

The bedroom was quiet and dark.

Chi Huan had thought that she probably wouldn’t be able to fall asleep because she wasn’t in a haze like when she was sick and she had already slept for two days straight. Moreover, she’s in a strange place fully awake, which she wasn’t used to but it didn’t take long for her to fall asleep after closing her eyes and thinking about everything freely.

The next day, Mo Shiqian took her to go shopping at the mall.

Chi Huan was a public figure, so she had to disguise herself when going out.

She wore the same red coat and the black, heeled ankle boots as that day. The scarf covered half of her face and she put her cell phone in the coat pocket. She didn’t even bring her wallet.

Before leaving, she glanced at him and said as if she was just mentioning it unintentionally, “I didn’t bring my credit card and there isn’t much cash in my wallet. Since you are my man, it should be okay for you to pay for all my expenditures. I assume… you are pretty rich.”

He said lightly, “Of course.”

Chi Huan had the impression that the man was always cool about everything. He took her temper as childish behavior.

It was annoying.

She raised her eyebrows and snorted lightly. “Spoiler alert, your fiancée looks frugal and simple but you have to know that I’m different from her. I will spend a lot of money, and I won’t hesitate in spending yours.”

His voice was cool. “You think I don’t know your style?”

Mo Shiqian looked down at her and said as if it wasn’t important, “If you think spending my money will cost me a lot and you can vent your anger, you can buy the whole mall if you like.”

Makeup and skin care products were basically on the first floor of the mall. Chi Huan went to buy a set of skin care products that she always used and then face masks. Some of the products she used were not available in the mall, so she picked the most expensive ones among those that she usually used and bought them.

She didn’t need to check them one by one. She just gave a name and made sure it was the exact one she wanted. When she said, “Yes,” the man would take out his wallet and pay for the item she wanted to buy.

The first time he took the card out of his wallet, Chi Huan looked carefully at him with her head tilted.

Mo Shiqian noticed her eyes and looked at her. “Problem?”

She shook her head.

This was new for her, a man paying for her stuff.

She had started to support herself solely since she was sixteen and moved out of the Chi family when she was eighteen. For all these years she had spent the money she made like water. She didn’t even remember what it felt like spending her dad’s money, not to mention spending another man’s money.

Maybe because this was new to her, she kind of enjoyed it.

After the skin care products, she went to buy makeup products. Thinking that she might not show up in public in the immediate future, she only needed to buy the basics and light makeup.

Out of her love for lipsticks, though, she asked for dozens of lipsticks with twenty different shades.

When she finished talking, she looked up and found that the saleswoman was not as warm as the previous ones. The saleswoman looked coldly at Mo Shiqian, who stood there uprightly.

Chi Huan frowned. “Miss, did you hear what I said?”

What was the saleswoman doing staring at her man, instead of fetching her the lipsticks?

Hearing Chi Huan’s voice, the saleswoman turned back to look at her and smiled, but the smile looked very fake. “Miss, don’t you want to try them to see if they suit you before buying so many lipsticks?”

Chi Huan raised her eyebrows.

The hostility from one woman to another was always quiet but obvious. Chi Huan had been in the entertainment industry for so many years, so how could she not notice it?

Among those lipsticks, some were what she liked and some were what she wanted to try. There were also some that she wanted to buy to cost Mo Shiqian more money, so she wanted to buy them and then try them if she was in the mood one day, but ultimately speaking, she wanted them because they wouldn’t cost much even if she bought a lot.

Chi Huan smiled and said, “Because pretty women with fair skin look good wearing any shade.”

Even if they didn’t suit her, it was none of the saleswoman’s business. Just do your job.

The saleswoman smiled and looked at Mo Shiqian with mockery. “Right. Your boyfriend is willing to spend money on you. You can surely buy all of the shades.”

Mo Shiqian looked up at the saleswoman and his pretty face was calm and indifferent. “Do you need to say this much while working and selling products for your boss?”

Chi Huan swept a glance at Mo Shiqian and the saleswoman.

Aha, they knew each other.

She couldn’t be Mo Shiqian’s ex, could she? But didn’t he only have one ex, that Liang Manyue?

“I just hate seeing the cheating man hanging out with his mistress. What? Are you going to make a complaint against me?”

Was she referring to her as the mistress?

Mo Shiqian’s face was still calm and he basically had no change in his mood or emotions.

Seeing his calmness, the saleswoman became furious immediately. She looked at the shopping bags the man had put on the counter casually.

The woman was obviously annoyed. She had wanted to mock him; he was just a bodyguard. Did he think that he could dominate her?

But when she looked into his cold and deep eyes, the rising anger ran away and she wasn’t so sure anymore.

However, she couldn’t be bullied so easily and said in a cold tone, “I just don’t want to sell things to people like you. Make the complaint all you want. I’m not scared.”

Chi Huan had already waved at another saleswoman to come closer and then she asked the saleswoman for their manager’s phone number. She dialed the number casually in front of that ‘Miss Sun’.

The saleswoman didn’t seem to expect Chi Huan to really make the complaint. Her facial expression changed but she tried to hold herself up.
