The kiss was short. As soon as he felt her harden, he pulled away, as if he was embarrassed by his impulsive action.
“Sir Kerner. Are we going to do it?”
“…”
She didn’t consider Ian a pervert. People want to hold on to someone when they are weak, but the expression usually appeared in a s*xual form. He kissed her unannounced. So… she was naturally shaken for a moment.
It wasn’t because she didn’t like it, it was because she was embarrassed, but it made no sense. Rosen came to her senses late and grabbed him, but he had already grabbed her by the wrist and was heading for the cabin.
Rosen wanted to hit herself, who had missed a golden opportunity. Why did she freeze like an idiot? She should have grabbed him right away. No matter who Ian Kerner was, he was still a man.
Once erected, they did not think with their heads. There was not a single exception that she had encountered. Neither a gentleman, an old man, nor a timid man.
All men were like that… Ian Kerner was no different. Of course, he was not going to be as stupid as the rest of them.
“Why don’t you use your tongue? You don’t know how to use it? Do you want me to teach you?”
“Even if you say… ”
She finally managed to stop him. His voice raised again, perhaps because he was angry or embarrassed by his actions. She realized once again what her talent was. Getting under people’s skin. Come to think of it, Hindley said the same thing.
“…No. I made a mistake.”
He sighed and bent down so his face met her eye level.
‘What do you mean?’
As she was looking at him, not knowing what to say, he opened his mouth.
“Hit me. No, hit me twice.”
He would have been slapped if he did that to a beautiful lady, but she was a prisoner. There was no one to blame for how guards treated their prisoners. After all, Ian Kerner was a human being who became anxious over things no one else cared about.
Rosen pretended to clench her fist and kissed him again. This time, not on the cheek, but on the lips, as he did.
“Now we’re even, right?”
“…Let’s go in. You’re drunk.”
Ian Kerner looked at her with a strange smile as if it was ridiculous. Soon he grabbed her shoulder and started to push her toward his cabin. After talking a little more, she thought that they would do the deed for sure, so she allowed herself to be meekly dragged along.
She was brimming with hope. To be honest, she had doubts until recently that Ian Kerner wasn’t really a eunuch, but now it was clear. He also had a desire to touch a woman.
‘Let’s think. If I were a man, would I have kissed me, no matter how crazy I was?’
After that, that’s the part she was good at. Once the line was crossed, she had the power to push until one’s limits broke.
He was a man who never drank alcohol on duty, never went near a drinking fountain, and only drank water brought directly from the Captain’s office. That meant Ian Kerner would be awake even if the whole ship was asleep.
To get through to this prison guard, she needed one more trick.
And she was sure this would be it.
As expected, everyone was the same. She could win. They pretend not to be, but once they slept with her, they were generous as if she was their property. She’d weaken his heart a little bit. Besides, if they slept together today, he would surely ask for the same tomorrow.
As soon as she entered the cabin, she intended to cling to him. It didn’t matter if she would get hit.
‘What are you going to do if I take off my clothes? Hit me? I’ve had worse.’
She was more concerned with the medicine hidden in her underwear. She could hide it under the bed, but she needed a proper opening.
She was firmly determined. So when he turned on the gas lamp and tried to put her on the bed, she did not let go, but hugged his neck and kissed him again. He was startled and tried to separate them, but she clung to him recklessly.
“You smell good.”
She hugged him tightly. His scent tickled the tip of her nose. He smelled like the sky. Cool and refreshing. He didn’t wear cologne, so why did he have such a strong fragrance? Maybe it was because he was a man who lived in the sky and not on the earth?
“If you’re going to do it, hug me first. I like it.”
“Rosen, please be still.”
As she was about to take her clothes off, he wrapped her in a blanket. It was hard to get out, but as soon as she did she was buried in another. The clumsy fight continued for a long time. Eventually, Rosen lost her strength and was overpowered by him.
He sank into a chair beside the bed with tired expression.
“Get a hold of yourself.”
“I’m fine. What the heck is your problem? You’re a guard, and I’m a prisoner who will die after tomorrow night anyway. No one will say anything if you do it with me! Don’t you know what I’m asking you to do?”
“I know. But I shouldn’t.”
“All my other guards have except you.”
“It’s not supposed to be like that.”
He was too savvy. Men were not afraid to extort something from women they did not love. Whether it was love, attention, money, or s*x. Hindley did the same. After all, women were not people to them, and even if they lived like that, no one would say anything.
But Ian Kerner, who she was hanging on to, wouldn’t do that. She was going crazy. How on earth did he grow up to be such a man?
“Then why did you kiss me? Of course, I knew what that meant.”
Rosen finally managed to render him speechless. He didn’t answer, but the gesture of putting a blanket over her was resolute.
“Please sleep. Before I cuff you again.”
“You can’t do that! You promised me.”
“You’re not keeping your promise to stay calm either.”
“Is it because I am dirty? Do you hate me?”
She didn’t know why she said such a stupid thing. But just in case, she said it with the most pitiful look on her face. It was an obvious lie, but she wanted to see if it had any effect.
“…Don’t keep using your body like a tool. You are a person, not a tool.”
“I don’t have anything other than this, so what should I do? You may have wealth, fame, and power, but I do not. And now what? I’m at the end of the line.”
“…”
“Do you know what my intentions are for doing this? I just want to sleep with you…”
Her conscience ached. This man was too quick. She had a strong feeling that she was doomed. She thought of him hugging her, and finally found his sore spot.
“Tell me the truth. You actually like hugging me, don’t you?
“…”
“No, even if it’s not me…You seem to like hugging people. You’ve been struggling because there’s no one to hug, right?”
The medicine he swallowed must have worked too well. She regretted that she ever gave it to him. Where did the man who was trembling and clinging on to her desperately go? Now he was just staring at her blankly, regardless of what she was talking about.
She had developed willpower. She had even become a little desperate. She suggested, as a last resort, pointing to his pants.
“If you feel uncomfortable, there is a way to satisfy only you. What do you think?”
Ian Kerner’s expression hardened in an instant. He seemed angry. On this ship she made him quite angry, but this was the first time she had seen such a look on his face. She realized that she had offended him, and she bowed her head in shame. She instinctively realized…
That she just crossed the ‘line’ he had set.
“I take back what I just said.”
She thought she was going to be thrown out the door any moment. If she was unlucky, she would be chained again.
She heard him walking. She reflexively closed her eyes and cowered. She covered her head with her arms. It wasn’t because she believed he was going to beat her, but rather it was a habit imprinted into her body. A habit that popped up before she even thought about it.
The memories of the violence that Hindley Haworth, the soldiers who roamed Leoarton, and countless guards were engraved in her mind.
“Rosen.”
His voice surrounded her. It was a friendly voice that he seldom used.
Rosen opened her eyes. A long sigh followed. Realizing she was acting like an idiot, she removed the arm that was covering her head.
Ian carefully sat her upright and put her on the bed. He sat down next to her. She turned to face him, crouching awkwardly in the dim light. He paused for quite some time, just looking at her.
“Come here.”
He called her again in a choked voice. He stretched out his arms and beckoned to her. As soon as she got permission, she quickly approached him and sat down on his lap.
She didn’t forget to hug his neck and smile softly to make up for the gloomy atmosphere.
He embraced her tightly.
